“probably trying to poison the water supply.” wouldn't be the first time. barbara peeked into the rooms as they passed and then stopped at one. it looked like some kind of a science lab that had been destroyed. broken glass beakers, vials, and liquid covered the floor. “this might be something.”

The water supply- of course, why wouldn't it be something simple? Something that could be contained? The vigilante strodce forward, leaving the side rooms to Barbara until she said she had something. Tapping his cowl the detective stepped into the room, "You're right- someone was working on a poison here. I've seen this somewhere..."

"Matt I- I don't know how to fix this."

A panicked breath escapes her lips as she stares down at the injuries littering her friend's body. "I can't fix this. We need a doctor."

There was little point in arguing with him, she knew him well enough now. He was stubborn to a fault as it was, but adding the secret side of his life into the mix...Matthew Murdock was going to do what Matthew Murdock was going to do...and there wasn't a soul who could change his mind.

"Help me out here, Matt. What do I do? I need help- you need help- so please just, throw me a bone. How do I help you?"

Though it didn’t really matter, Matt’s eyes shot towards her- she was panicking, he can hear her heart beat- guilt washes over him. He shouldn’t have come here, he shouldn’t have burdened her with this- with his choices “No- no doctors.”

How was he supposed to explain this? “I shouldn’t have-” Karen cuts him off and he paused, “I just need to make sure that infection doesn’t set in. Hot water, a sterilizing agent- peroxide, alcohol… something, and bandages. After that I can sleep it off.”

He’d done this before, he would be fine- he knew he would be fine. “I’ll walk you through it, it’ll be fine; I promise.”

An ever endearing smile stretches beautifully over perfect red lips. Janet reaches, patting Matt on the arm, even offering a playful little wink his way as she continues to taunt him.

❝ Wouldn't be friends this long if I didn't try, would we? ❞ A laugh slips from her too easily, head shaking as she drops her hand back to her hip, bumping his a little with the motion. ❝ You know I expect the same from you. Don't take it too hard. -If I was in out of my depth, I'd want you to correct me, too. ❞ Her tone becomes a little more sincere towards the end, though her face never loses it's warm amusement all the same. ❝ Taking this head on isn't a bad idea, I just think we can go about it a little more discreetly if we handle this during our day lives instead of our night ones, you know? ❞

The feeling of Janet patting Matt on the arm makes him smirk, his gaze turning towards her; eyes hidden behind the sunglasses he wore at all times when in his civilian personality. He tilted his head to the side at her question, “Is that what friends do?” he questioned before laughing.

Handling things as Matt Murdock instead of Daredevil was sometimes a hard pill for him to swallow- often times Daredevil existed because of the things that Matt couldn’t do. “A lawyer and… what do you do again?” he asked dryly before nodding, “Alright. So what do you propose? What’s our first move?”

“I haven’t seen you fly yet, so you're half decent,” Cedric mused, unable to keep the small smirk off his face. Amusement shone in his eyes, and he couldn’t help but surrender to the laugh bubbling in his throat.

“Meet you on the field.” He nods, glancing around the Burrow for a moment before smirking. With a flick of his wand, he summons one of the brooms; it’s an older mode,l but it shouldn’t be a problem. “You were a chaser, right? So what is this? A race? A one-on-one match? It’s your house, Weasley, you name the rules.”
