PROLOGUE: In which the legend of the two moons is told, as well as the history (both ancient and modern?) of two nations at war.
Legend tells of the two moons, Argar and Serat, ancient lovers seperated by a jealous and vengeful archmage, doomed to dance forever in the skies above Itos. Argar fell into a great depression and plodded his course slowly while Serat, younger and hopeful, raced across the sky to try and catch him, passing him by as she did. But the archmage was crafty and cruel, and made it so that every 100 years they would meet, not to be kind, but so that they will remember that short embrace as they spend the next century missing each other.
70 years ago, the queen of Ghaleress was set to marry the prince of the neighbouring kingdom of Ishon. This union was to unite the two kindoms of Ageisa and bring about prosperity to all. But the prince, hot-blooded and impetious, fled to the arms of a common girl, bringing shame to the queen. The queen had the prince and his lover taken in the night, their heads arriving three weeks later at the feet of the king and queen of Ishon, along with a declaration of war.
Armies and navies were quickly raised and a long bloody war was begun. Several times peace has been pursued by both sides as new monarches were crowned or old ones grew tired of seeing their people die, but always there overtures were met with disaster. A secret assassination here, a rebuked treaty there, and the war raged on.
But now a new promise has arisen, another attempted alliance in the works. The Ghaleri crown princess, Tabitha, is to be wed to the crown prince of Ishon, Kenneth, and the war will end with their union. As the wedding draws near, so does the celestial embrace of the two lovers, Argar and Serat, the two moons of Itos. In two years time, the two future monarchs will marry in the light of the two moons and the armistice will become peace, and a new century will be birthed, not in blood, but celebratory wine.
CHAPTER I: In which a Princess rails against fate and runs away with a Brigadier, and a Prince leaves to visit the enemy, finding adventure along the way.
Scene I: Tabitha in her bedroom, being shown dress materials, vacant blank look as though a wearying task. Transition to the drill field in the courtyard of the Ghaleri castle where Lance commands troops doing drills. Transition back to Tabitha, later in the day, sitting at tea and staring off at distance while the other ladies chat. Transition back to the castle forge, where Lance sits outside of, fixing a strap on his armour. Transition back, to Tabitha, dusk, getting dressed by her servants for bed. Transition back to Lance, now night, hanging up his armour. A quiet knock comes at his door and he moves to open it. Tabitha is there. They pause and look at each other, then she wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him. As she pushes him to the bed, he pushes the door closed. END
Tutorial: Lance on the field, directing troops. "Dialogue" <Battle Tutorial> Tabitha comes onto the field, clapping. "Dialogue" END

Tabitha: For seven years our home was beseiged. Seven. Years. The city I was born in, grew up in, that I cherished with all my heart, became a prison. During the worst of it, I wasn't allowed to leave the palace for 6 months. I did not see the sky but through arrowslits or between curtains or shutters. But I knew I would again. I would smell the sweet, fresh air and feel the wind in my hair, the grass between my toes. I had HOPE.
Llewellen: How do you humans do it? How do you keep hope in your hearts in the face of bleakness and overwhelming odds?
Tabitha: ...maybe it is our short lives. (short pause) We are given but a few precious years. We have no time for hopelessness. We must live life to the fullest, to fall in love, raise a family, find happiness... (trails off, reflective pause) To give in to despair would be to waste the one commodity most precious to humans, the one we have the least of...time.
