He'd lost sight of the Wanderer he'd been following from a distance, and had tried to catch up as quickly as possible. Unfortunately for him, it hadn't ended up in the way he'd wanted. Tumbling through the atmosphere, his body dispersed into the shadowy "formless" figure he used to be.
And those shadows reformed when solid ground was reached. Focusing, Protector was able to reform the look he'd taken on when he'd failed to truly protect the first Wanderer he'd been summoned by. Standing up from the ground, he assessed where he was. It didn't seem like he was there anymore.
The entity gave a confused noise, before the hackles on the back of his neck raised just slightly. Turning to look, he'd noticed something approaching him. It seemed to be something different, and it seemed to be coming for him.
With a flick of his tail, the thing had been sent crashing aside. It got back up, charging him again. His right arm shifted, morphing into a spear-like armament, and he lunged forward, stabbing it through. Feeling it extend out, cutting through whatever this thing was before he withdrew his arm and shook it off slightly.
He didn't even know what it was. But it wasn't human, that was for sure. It had no resemblance to the Wanderers that he knew. Only things that weren't truly human would alert him like this thing had. Protector flexed his fingers a bit, shaking off the numbness that crept up his arm from using it as a weapon.
Of course, that wasn't the end as something huge had arrived. He was unaffected by the temperature dropping, but the fact he could see his breath and the grass around him had iced over were signs enough that it was big. Like that entity in the frozen areas, that he'd had to kill to even get past it.
The voice had asked him his purpose for encroaching upon... a kingdom? Tail swishing in the air, red eyes filled with curiosity, Protector looked up at the being and backed up a little to get a better look. Confused noises escaped him.
He didn't know what a kingdom even was. Nor did he get why he was being asked this question. He'd formed out here, yes, but he didn't even know there'd been anything here.
This being probably couldn't understand the noises he made in lieu of talking. With his throat pretty much ruined on the inside, he couldn't talk well or for long.
"....encroach?" Protector's voice was raspy, hoarse and it sounded like he hadn't used it in some time. Wincing as he put a hand to his throat, he rubbed it slightly. ".....formed.... here.... do not.... understand..."
Hopefully that got his point across.
