nataliexchan:
“Why don’t you stab some runners instead?”
“It’s a nice package deal. You’ll get to be both a sociopath and a productive member of society at the same time.”
Talia half-shrugged in response as if she was ruminating on the suggestion. “Eh,” she said non-chalantly. “Wouldn’t be as much fun. I like it when they can fight.”
dchlics:
“Well, it’s been a while since someone’s left me speechless.” She murmured, mostly to herself. “Surviving and living are synonymous at this point. There’s no point in doing something stupid that can get you killed just for the thrill of a little fun.” Dahlia barely flinched when the other girl got closer to her. She didn’t fear many people these days since she became one of those to fear but this one genuinely seemed like she was solely interested in getting under Dahlia’s skin right now. The lack of space didn’t faze her at all. Dahlia turned her head slightly, not giving either of their faces much room from each other. “Do I look like someone who wants to have fun right now?”
“Well, yeah. But there’s so much more to it. Have you ever stood on the top of a cliff to watch the sun go down over the lake? Have you ever been fucked so hard that you saw deities that you never even read about? Have you ever gotten so high on a plant that you cried at the sunset? It’s... nice.” Words stated so plainly, but the last two were spoken with a rare kind of softness. Talia studied the other woman’s features, eyes flickering down to the gun. The devil on her shoulder kept whispering to, do something, but she pushed that impulse deep down inside. “No, but I think you deserve it.”
mclissc:
“come have a look,” melissa said without looking up from her newfound book. a trip to the library while everything seemed calm was a good idea – not something she did often, but certainly one of the best entertainment ideas that were still, well, possible. “this old book is like a collection of different hospital and jail experiments. y’know, the crazy ones psychotic surgeons did in the 1900′s while some people actually thought it was borderline normal.” her gun was strategically place under her belt, a millisecond away from a headshot if needed. maybe some more exploration around this place could be actually worth the trip?
“Not gonna lie,” Talia said with pursed lips, eyes scanning her surroundings as her fingers tapped against the shelf. Loose, relaxed, casual -- she could do that. Sitting down on the table next to the blonde, she swung her legs off the edge and leaned in to study the picture on the page. Gimme a minute, she mouthed off toward the third party waiting a good ten feet away. “I was really hoping this would be empty so I could make out with a hot girl in peace. But I guess having an audience wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. So, Mel, this sure is a sexy subject you’re reading about.”
judesng:
“Yeah, well maybe I like to keep them that way. Strangers, that is.” He glanced at the woman, taking in all that he could from her outward appearance. “You don’t want to ‘make out’ with me.” He retaliated, this new acquaintance getting the brunt of his bad mood. “You’re just looking for some kind of shitty meaning in all of this. Well, you aren’t gonna find it with me.”
“You’re delightful,” Talia said with the half cocked grin still planted on her face. One thing she had was unwavering determination. “I’m not looking for shitty meaning in all of... this. Just looking to, uh, actually enjoy the small things in life.”
i want to hate you it would be so much easier if i could but how do you hate someone who still has so much of your heart? how do you hate someone you still love?
and how can i stop hating myself for still loving you? (cc, 2017)
Our ‘almost’ will always haunt me.
six word story #29 (m.f.) (via musingisms)
kensingtcns:
Benjamin had been outside, lounging on a chair, smoking one of his last cigarette with his feet propped up on a pile of old tires when he heard a voice behind him, causing him to peel his eyes away from the horizon as a smirk pulled on his lips. “As much as I like the compliment, I’d also like to remind you that I know I’m hot.” He chuckled, looking over at her. “All of those sound good, honestly. You should know by know that I’m game for anything fun. Which one you hoping for the most?”
“And here’s me reminding you because I’m nice like that,” Talia said casually, brushing her fingers over his shoulder as she traipsed her way around him. “Your breath smells so I don’t know about making out with you,” she said with a crinkled nose, leaning in and grabbing his cigarette. Plopping down on his lap, she took in a long drag and watched the smoke come out from both her nose and mouth. “Cliff diving does sound fun. What do you think?”
liamhart:
Wait, what? Liam flinched as she sat down beside him, instantly angling himself away from her. Apparently she didn’t care, though, for a second later she was pulling him closer. Too close. What the hell was she – oh. Liam’s blood ran cold, his whole body stilling as he processed what she’d said, what that meant. He knew she’d seen him around, just as he’d seen her. He jerked away from her. “Know what? That you’re a fuckin’ creep?”
Talia had a tendency to push on boundaries -- most of the time, she wasn’t aware, gravitating toward people like a magnet. But with this one, she was absolutely doing it on purpose. Her fingers clenched tightly onto his skin before he jerked himself away. “Sure,” she said quietly with a half-shrug, continuing to play this game. “We can go with that.”
dchlics:
Dahlia could’ve been compared to a dying fish as she repeatedly opened and closed her mouth while searching for words. She had come across plenty of different kinds of people, but never one so..open; not in along time, at least. “Well, I’d take you up on that offer but I’ve got people to take care of. I would have never thought that kinks could survive in a world like this.”
"Damn,” Talia rasped out. “I do love it when I leave pretty women speechless.” The glimmer of mischievousness that swam in her eyes grew tenfold. “People are so focused on surviving that they’ve forgotten how to live. And let me tell you, living is fun... and I like fun.” Personal space wasn’t really much of a thing for Talia, so she leaned in closer to whisper into the other woman’s ear. It was a dangerous game she knew she was playing -- but one she was enjoying. “If you ever want fun, I’m your girl.”
nataliexchan:
“Then find someone else to take home. I’m not looking to get poked full of holes today.”
"Damn. Now I gotta go find some other poor unsuspecting bastard to stab.”
larachvn:
“You should be overwhelmed by love right now.” Lara kept speaking, letting their little banter carry on ever so effortlessly. “Otherwise I would go straight for the nose.” Can’t concentrate with a broken nose, now can you? At least for a few seconds, which was enough time in the world Lara had grown up in. “Oh, is that how we’re doing it? You goin’ easy on me now?”
“My heart, Lara. My heart. It’s so overwhelmed I could burst,” Talia crinkled her nose, putting on an exaggerated frown. “Me? Go easy on you? Never,” she arched an eyebrow as if to express disbelief. Stretching out her other arm, she let them hang loose before craning her neck around. “Let’s fuckin’ do this already.”
nataliexchan:
“Definitely too good to be true.” Natalie watched with feigned levity as her drink was hijacked.
“In fact, it sounds like a bad scam to get me somewhere alone so you can shank me and steal my shit.”
“Well,” Talia contently hummed out, setting the glass of water back down. “I do like my knives. They’re really fun to play with.”
brcokes:
It was with a displeased grunt that she spun around on her feet after someone decided it was a good idea to speak to her. Brows arched, gaze piercing the other’s regardless of the noticeable twinkle of mischief in her eyes.
“Huh — pushing you off a cliff does seem like fun. I can spare some time to help you with that.”
"Darlin’,” Talia hardly skipped a beat as her eyes slowly flickered up and down, trying to get a feel of the other woman’s capability. Primed for a fight, she figured. The mischievous gleam continued to grow, a glimmer of amusement mixed in. “I’d like to see you try.”
judesng:
The woman’s voice caught Jude’s attention, but not for the right reasons. His gaze rose to meet hers, but his expression was blank. “No thanks.” He replied bluntly, his lip curling up slightly in distaste. “You should probably get a hobby instead of trying to hit on people who don’t want it.” He didn’t appreciate the woman’s idea of an introduction, and had had a long enough day to not try and cover it up with letting her down gently. “I don’t even know you.”
“Dude,” Talia arched an eyebrow in a way that said really now? She liked to greet every new face that came into her city, ensure they weren’t racking up too much trouble. “Everyone’s a stranger until they’re not. Wasn’t aware I had to know you to want to make out with you.”
