Pilot Talk
Knowing it was a joke didn’t make it any clearer to Rey. She frowned as she turned in her seat to face him, wondering why this conversation looked so serious.
“Okay, but it doesn’t make any sense. What’s so funny about wanting to see herself in your flight suit? She’s got one of her own,” she pointed out. “Yours wouldn’t even fit.”
Poe took a deep breath, pacing himself. This was why he didn’t have any kids – barring, you know, the whole “fighting to save the galaxy” thing.
“It’s like a sex thing,” he said, figuring plain honesty would probably gain a lot more traction with Rey. “Getting in someone’s pants, or flight suit – whatever article of clothing you want, that’s what it means.”
“That still doesn’t make sense,” Rey maintained. At least she didn’t have to ask what sex was. How to go about it, maybe, but she had no reason to learn that right now.
“Why is that a sex thing? It’s tailored to you. There’s definitely not room in there for two people.”
"That's a good question, Rey," Poe had to admit, hanging his arms off the edge of the table in a thoughtful sprawl. "Why's anything a thing? They don't have innuendo out in Jakku?"
