Everyday Witchcraft
1. Meditate - still the mind, the breath, the heartbeat, open a channel through which the spirits can communicate if they wish to, listen.
2. Walk - honour the genii loci, notice the changing seasons, observe signs and omens, traverse the kingdoms of humanity, flora and fauna, give aid where it is needed.
3. Divine - build relationships with divinatory tools, sharpen skills, train intuition, ask questions, receive answers.
4. Invoke - the presence of spirits to assist in tasks, to protect on journeys, to grant guidance, maintain connections and uphold contracts.
5. Craft - use the hands to create, to construct, imbue each creation with spirit and purpose, a meal, a potion, a carving, a weaving, enchant the mundane and material.
6. Sing - the old songs, the power songs, the prayers, the chants, to heal, to awaken, to enforce, to ward, sing the sun to sleep and the moon to rising, sing in the bath, at the hearth, in the heart.
7. Read - widely and deeply, old and new, academic and popular, across boundaries and taboos, slowly and with full attention, take notes, research, reflect.
8. Write - record experiences, practices, thoughts. keep journals and grimoires, spellbooks and scripts, remember, elucidate, illuminate.
9. Draw - sigils and runes, symbols and signs. Carve, paint, scratch, blacken, redden, scrawl, in the sand, with salt, in the air, with chalk, ink, blood, charcoal, the mind.
10. Collect - herbs, woods, stones, feathers, bones, teeth, soil, the raw materials of natural magic, fill jars, boxes, bags, gather, forage, wildcraft, thrift, take that which is discarded, value the found over the bought.
11. Observe - the cycles of moon, sun, planets, stars, take heed with the eyes as well as the almanac, feel the sap rise, the birds migrate, the bulbs awaken, the leaves wither.
12. Renew - old spells, old wards, protections, and boundaries. Clean what is obscured, recast what has weakened, maintain what is working, replace what is lost. Tie up loose ends.
13. Communicate - with everything, stones, trees, spirits, the dead, that which grows in the garden and that which visits it, other practitioners, mentors, students, seekers, the younger self, the higher self, the wyrd.
I'm a beginner witch, and it would be nice to see posts about using energy and getting the proper help. I drained myself out fast starting out, and knowing to who to ask for help is knowledge that we don't get starting out with a google search, y'know?
This is a great question. Often new witches drain their own energy and don’t know how to refill it or they refill so much that they are overwhelmed and that is tiring too.
A daily practice (or near daily!) of drawing up earth light, circulating it through your body and spirit and then returning it to the earth is one vital way to keep from getting exhausted. The reason you do it regularly is to train the skill and ability. That way when you do need it you will already know how and have it on the ready. In many ways magic is a discipline like a martial art and you train it so you can use it when the need or want arises.
One of my mentor’s RJ Stewart wrote this version of the exercise, but it is common across many witchcraft and mystic practices to do something like this and I have encountered it repeatedly.

Raising energy in this manner is a basis for many other mystic and witchcraft practices. Once you have it down, you will find other practices make more sense to you.

Reading up on sea witch spells and seeing people suggest putting offerings in bottles and letting the sea carry then away. This upsets me. It’s littering. Please leave your offerings on something that’s not harmful to the environment. A sea shell, rock or even just on the beach. Please don’t use anything that could cause harm to the ocean or its inhabitants. Thank you!
Hi, I'm Jay and I've been practicing witchcraft and divination for almost eleven years now, and I'm currently working to save up money for my university tuition and therapy bills! I will perform one card, five card, and celtic cross spreads using a classic Rider Waite deck, and one rune, four rune, and celtic cross castings with Elder Futhark amber runes.
I accept payment via paypal! When you're making your payment, leave your URL and then message me any details about your reading, including the topic, question, or issue your reading will be dealing with (example, "Will I get the job?", "Romance themed", "I'm worried about my mother's health", "Should I change my school major?", "General reading", etc). Please don't message me on anonymous, as I'll privately answer with your reading. I should have your reading completed within twenty four hours of payment. (I'm also accepting donations! Any little bit helps!)

New Witch's Shopping Guide
I see a lot of posts saying, “I want to be a witch, what do I need to buy?” While I am 100% against the false idea that you need to buy things to be a witch or practice witchcraft, admittedly there are some things that do make the whole process easier.
Instead of going around to tiny and expensive shops downtown looking for witchy items, hit up your local Wal-Mart and stock the heck up on these crafty supplies:
Candles - get a 100 pack of white unscented tea candles, plus a few other candles you’d like to have. I don’t care what candle magic books say, you don’t need candles in each color.
Skip the cheap incense on this isle. Burn real herbs instead. Buy charcoal disks or do as I do and improvise with tinfoil and a tea light.
Matches - get a big box. Matches are proven to be 150% more fun than lighters and 175% easier to find when you’re in the middle of a ritual.
Herbs/spices - dried rosemary (get double), chamomile, cinnamon sticks, mullein, allspice, and star anise should be enough to keep you entertained. Grab a bag of big dried peppers if you foresee hexing in your future. Also, get a box of sea salt (the bigger the better).
Screw those tiny, overpriced little plastic bottles. Get ethnic brands, especially Mexican. Rosemary is a really common spell/ritual ingredient so stock up.
Thread - get red and black, or get a box set of embroidery thread that girls use to make friendship bracelets out of. It’s about $10 but it has every color you could ever desire and it lasts ages.
Pins and needles - buy a box of thin pins and sewing needles large enough to fit your thread.
I already had sewing supplies at home, but if you need them get a pair of scissors good for cutting fabric and thread.
Scrap fabric - look for small squares of fabric sold at a discount. Try and get a plain, neutral color like beige and whatever else appeals to you.
Notebooks, sketch books, and binders - composition books or spiral bounds are your best friend. If you are an artist, get a drawing book. Choose a thin binder that is easy to handle. Consider spiral bound notebooks and sketch books with perforated edges if you intend to move a lot of stuff in to the binder. Get filler paper if you don’t have it at home.
Don’t bother with fancy pens or art supplies to decorate with. In my opinion, creating an artistic grimoire should be done after a witch has quite a bit of experience and has the time to slow down for it. Don’t confuse witchcraft for drawing fancy spell pages.
Clippers - you will need plant clippers to collect specimens from nature and tend to your own plants at home.
Containers - get ziplock bags (probably the cheapest option) or glass jars if you can afford it. You will need these to help organize your ingredients.
Think ahead for labeling - you may need tape or glue to affix labels to your containers
Live plants - depending on the time of year, the garden department is likely to have a variety of young herbs available. Choose herbs that thrive in your climate or can be kept indoors. Don’t worry about getting the “best” herbs, you can buy what you need for spells dried. Just focus on what you can keep alive and what you’d like to get to know better.

In your about it states that you're anti-love spell. Can you explain? (not trying to be rude, it's just that I see a lot of love spells in the tumblr pagan community)
While I do condone some magic that takes away free will, like binding spells, there are some areas that are never appropriate. Love spells that target a specific person, like the witch's crush, are never ok. Ever. There is never a valid reason to perform these kinds of spells. Curses and binding spells? Yes, there's a time and a place for those, against attackers and abusers and such.
But love spells are never appropriate. They are forcing the target to have feelings they might not otherwise have, against their will. I don't care how much you're pining or how in love with this person you are, it's not ok. Rekindling your failing relationship, luring in your crush, fixing unrequited love.... doing these things with magic to force the target to have feelings you impose upon them is taking away their free will and is disgusting and selfish.
