In case anyone is looking for book recommendations, I really love my copy of Rodale’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of Herbs. The illustrations are beautiful, it has little sections on crafts, cooking, teas, dyes, and gardening, and one on dangerous herbs.

The cover of mine is a little sun-bleached, but you can find used copies in pretty good shape from eBay or used book sites for around $5-$6.

Witch tip: the herbs you grow yourself will do more to protect you than the most powerful protection herbs you find reference to in a book. You watered that baby, you spoke to it lovingly and helped give it life - it is an extension of your energy and the energy of your space. Use that connection.

Spiritual Cleansing Blend

An herbal blend I like to make and use as a loose incense, to dress candles, steep in a bath- it's effective even carrying some in a little jar or bottle. It helps clear away any muddy energies from you or leftovers from other people/places, it's great to cleanse your sacred space, keep your personal bubble clear or cleanse your magical tools.

Mint

Sage

Lavender

Lemon Verbena

Bay

Rosemary

Cedar

Thyme

I use the ingredients dried and it seems to be especially effective when made, used or charged on a new moon if that's your jam 💕

Measurements change everytime I make it, sometimes certain ingredients call to me more than others so the ratio is never the same. Just feel it out to find out what scents you prefer to be most prominent.

Love Powder (for Self and Finding Some)

Day 2 of the 30 Days of Lunar Magic

The original spell was for a Luck and Money Powder. Sadly, I didn’t have those herbs on hand so I went with what I was currently thinking about more: Love.

Since I am currently single, I thought a little boost to my self love was in order. I also thought about having a little extra help in finding love as well. This is, by no means, intended to force someone into loving you. If used to find love, it’s to help whoever is the best match for you find their way to you, like a magnet. If used for self love, a big boost of self confident and love of self for who you are, what you are, as you are.

In this, I used:

White Eggshells for prosperity and abundance

Sea Salt for purity and cleansing

Rose petals for love and caring

Lavender petals for protection and tenderness

Peppermint leaves for clarity and spicing things up in my life.

I used a mortar and pestle to grind everything together while listening to the Piano Ballad playlist on Spotify to set the mood. If you sing along to the songs, it’ll boost the mood of your intention with the mixture. (My personal pick is John Legend’s “All of Me”.)

Use for baths, dust on yourself before traveling, or just to carry with you as a talisman in a travel sized bottle.

Beth Root - Trillium Erectum

So I’m trying to get all the information I can on my herbs for my B.O.S. One of my herbs, Beth Root, has become very difficult to find information on. Does anyone have any information?

A good and easy way to start off your witch craft is incorporating infused oils into your craft. By blessing your infused oil you can use it in many ways such as cooking, blessing, or cleansing. Infused oils are seen as safer than essential oils because the infused oils are already cut with a carrier oil. You will need -A base oil. It can be any such as olive oil, vegetable oil or coconut oil. -A herb of your choice. -Sealable jar -A strainer. You can use anything from cheese cloth to panty hose. Optional: -It is best to store your infused oil in a dark color container but your oil will be alright in a clear plastic/glass container 1) Bruise about 1/4 cup of your herb. Bruising your herbs help release the fragrance and get a more infused oil. Use either a mortar and pestle or a spoon and bowl. Just don’t over do it to the point that you have liquid. 2) Place herbs in a sealable jar and add 1/2 of oil. Shake well and leave to sit overnight. 3) Strain the oil and repeat steps 1-2. Feel free to repeat these steps as many times as needed until you have your preferred fragrance/taste strength. Keep your oil away from the sun and heat. Popular combinations for oil infusions: Rosemary/Olive Oil Lavender/Jojoba Oil Basil/Vegetable Oil

Witch Tip! 🌙⭐✨

Don’t throw away your empty tea bags! Fill them up and make little pouches. You can fill them up with salt ( charged or not) or a mixture of salt and herbs. You can place them in the cornes of the windowsill, behind doors. 

My favorite one is the one with salt, thyme and lavender (you can cast a spell over it if you like :)) and put it under your pillow to sleep better. 

But be careful to not overfill them so they can’t burst suddenly :)
