Intimidating was ONE word for it…a word she was really more apt to apply to her job. With her parents’ legacy before her, and her sister’s innate ability on her s h o u l d e r s , she’s struggling to keep her face SOBER as she learns the ropes. Hell, it’s not like she’s having any problems, but that isn’t e n o u g h : needs to make an impact. Leave a mark on her first month.
Like this crewperson is undoubtedly doing to her desk. Is busy glancing through a file when she hears the distress call, lifting a brow in its direction before moving towards the sound. Crouches, narrows her eyes in the dark before catching onto u n d e r s t a n d i n g . ( Really, she should have been able to fix a computer issue herself, but as of yet, she hadn’t been able to d e c i p h e r it. )
Tries to find the offending trap in the cramped space,, and she l e a n s under the desk to get a better LOOK. Clicks her tongue once she finds it, shifting out.
❝ Oh yeah, it’s – in there. ❞
Screws up her lip, twisting back again to determine if it’s an easy fix … NO. And she’s not exactly looking to bring a harassment suit against the JAG Office in her first w e e k , but…there’s no way this girl is getting out of there. How the hell had she managed to get in ? Sighing, she glances back at the girl, lifting a resolute hand in gesture.
❝ Look, I know it’s not – ideal, but you’re really kind of…s t u c k . Is it all right if I … get it ? Or I can guide your hand, or…something. ❞
Esther had hoped the woman wouldn’t know the intimate implications of touching an Andorian’s antenna. Not just because it was nice to day dream and the woman was nice to look at, despite (or perhaps because of) the intimidation thing). Just to save time and a bit of embarrassment. It wasn’t as if Esther was particularly body shy or traditional. Hell, she wasn’t even completely Andorian, after all.
“It’s all right.” She gives the woman as much of a grin as her face can manage, one free antenna twitching happily. “I promise I won’t rope you into an engagement or anything. No surprise marriages here! And you don’t even have to buy me a drink first.” Probably a highly inappropriate joke to make at a senior officer, and a JAG officer at that, but she’d argue distress and trying to make the woman lighten up before attempting to dislodge her sensitive bits from painful places.
