like do you see the vision
It is past midnight so here comes my brain’s current obsession : G/t
Today, I have a question for the community !
What is your current size and what would be your ideal size ?
Personally, I currently am 5 feet and 4 inches (~1m60) and my ideal size would be 4 inches (~10cm)
Of course, if you're a sizeshifter, input the size you'd spent most of the time at.
very much love when the tiny thinks they have the upper hand, and then suddenly realizes they Do Not.
like the giant being restrained somehow, or otherwise unable to get to or harm the tiny. the tiny getting overconfident, feeling totally in charge of the situation. until the giant breaks free. all confidence just washing out of the tiny in an instant, as they remember how small they are. just. the terrifying realization that they are absolutely no longer in control, and that it was stupid to even think they were in the first place.
G/t Community ArtFight Accounts
Hey Everyone-- I've seen a lot of artfight posts going around and I thought I'd invite everyone to reblog their artfight accounts to make a little community reference in case you're looking for G/t creators to attack!
Here's my account!
An art gifting game
Chat I think I just came up with a rlly cool g/t idea :0
so like a human/tiny mage pulling their giant/human friend down to their level after acting stupid
Or switch it around and like this evil wizard being a dick to their tiny henchmen
Or just mages in g/t in general :3
I just found your blog and saw the art you posted where the tiny flops down on the book. I happened to read the inside of the book that said something like "I will yap about linguistics if you let me fr." That being said, I happen to be a language nerd. 👀 Please yap to me about linguistics 🙏
Any thoughts on linguistics in relation to g/t? Language barriers? Sign languages if the tiny is too quiet to hear? Just wondering your thoughts but yes pls feel free to yap about linguistics I am here for it!! 👁️👁️
Crying sobbing thank you for the ask!
Language barriers are the best in g/t. I can go without it, but having one in a story does compel me to read more ngl. I would assume language barriers should be a pretty common thing among giants and tinies, given that language barriers are present even among humans way too often lmao. Giants/tinies who don't share the same language is a cheat sheet to soooo much possible angst and fearplay. The only problem is that i find it kind of hard to write, and it does slow down character development a lot.
My unpopular opinion here is that sign language is often impractical for tinies (but specifically borrowers). Sure, it's good for situations where you need to be very quiet, but it requires your hands. Borrowers busy climbing and scaling all that furniture would probably want to have their hands free to hold onto their loot or ropes to keep their balance. Also human homes would have some kind of noise present at all times, and i suppose the average borrower doesn't make much noise anyway, talking normally should be fine for them. Also sign language is pretty useless when there's a certain distance since they would be too far to see, but maybe that's just me i have bad eyesight. Also very possible that a giant will have just as much trouble communicating with a tiny via sign language than if they just speak to each other normally imo.
It would be more efficient for tinies to communicate in a sort of Morse code like encryption, i think? Or maybe they would have other forms of communication like wearing different colours with each colour carrying some meaning. Like ships communicating with flags or smth
If we go further and presume tinies generally have a higher voice pitch and can hear higher pitches than their giant counterparts, they could also use whistling to communicate (i know I've read about a language that works like this once, but i can't remember anything else about it). Could work like the way a dog whistle does, humans can't hear shit but tinies sure can. I'd think it's a really neat idea but in practice it must be hell to write that in a story lol.
I don't really try to integrate language stuff with gt in my writing though (lazy worldbuilding on my side). I did try it with existing languages as a substitute, but it didn't work out very well either, so rip lol. So i cope by having an extremely unhinged writing process instead
I know it's not very linguistics-y (and I'm sorry about it) but i hope i answered some stuff, lol
SSSSAAAAME ON THE SIGN LANGUAGE
I don’t want to spoil people’s fun so if that’s what you want, go for it, but! on top of wanting hands free while out and about, I imagine most borrowers would use lights pretty sparingly and adapt to the dark instead. like I might not notice a tiny shadow slipping by along the baseboards across the room in the dark but I WOULD notice a candlelight. and before electric lights are an option, all light use at home would pose a fire hazard and require good ventilation for long-term use. it just seems like quiet speech or some style of ultrasonic communications would work better
and giants signing with tinies can run into the Deaf Kong proposal problem. please don’t sign while holding a tiny.
I don’t play with pitch/volume much because it’s kind of tedious to write and imagining tinies squeaking feels one step too silly for me. although giants being able to speak at such a low pitch it cans be physically perceived by humans but not properly heard or understood is on the table…
Hands hands hands hands
I wanted to join this twt trend
Half of G/T appeal to me is literally just this meme
what’s my gender? well, i’m small. i’m tiny. just a little fella. a doll. a borrower. itty-bitty. positively pocket sized.
what's my gender? well, i'm big. i'm huge. absolutely massive lad. a giant. a jotun. humongous. positively mountain-peaked
mixed-size household who, for convenience and budget's sake, install doggy doors in all the doors throughout their house

hey MTV, I’m Spaci the tiny, and welcome to my crib
Okay but all I'm imagining is a human making friends with a borrower and the borrower finds their old pet cage and just absolutely wants it as their room but the human is just painfully uncomfortable with the premise.
"Dude- it's got GREAT climbing holds??? And a water dispenser??"
God forbid they find the box of cage accessories with the hammock.
The human is just like "no- dude, this is for pets-"
Ans the borrower just laughs like, "yeah and buttons are for shirts, that doesn't stop.me from using them as plates."
And it's just a whole practical mindset vs. Optics debate 😭
underrated trope: mini-giant and their normal sized friend who climbs all over them like they’re a jungle-gym
Giant who carelessly walks thru a city their tiny partner lives in, absolutely straight faced. Their steps soar over countless people and cars as they walk, sometimes leaning down to search a comparatively-tiny building for their partner. The screaming is ignored. Its not like they’re going to step on anyone. Finally finding their little lover somewhere as their face lights up, changing from moody to absolutely delighted in a second, a shocking speed for something so big. Lifting a roof off of a building or picking up a car and shaking it out over their palm, maybe even just plucking them off the street with a rumbling, deafening “finally found you…” before whisking them away. Real
The topographies that only the small can appreciate. The topography of the enormous body. The ridges and dales of blankets and duvets, the tectonic shifts of drowsing. In palmistry, the ball of the thumb is called the mons: the mountain. A gentle hill, a pillow. The fingers curl above and it's a warm cavern for you to rest in. The curve of the ear, the natural bridge. To know a land as home, to know a land that loves you. To be in a country that loves.
