This is getting some attention so ill give some more info because im really crazy about arrietty and want to share !

- this is in the Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse area of Ghibli Park in Nagoya! Im sure most people know but yk

- this area dedicated to her is surprisingly big! theres also a part of the area where you can enter into the room with the spool of thread where she ascends in the movie. I only have a shitty video so im not gonna post it but it was cool! It was really cool to see all the areas for the ghibli films less popular in the west!

- if you’re in tokyo/osaka looking for arrietty merch you wont find a surplus. The park is the only place i found real merch of her. The ghibli stores themselves really only carry one or two arrietty things as far as i found! But maybe i looked on the wrong day!

- there were bug statues like the roly-polies! It made me feel very small! There were a couple photo op areas and one with a tilted over jar which i sat in and felt super tiny, which isnt usually my side of the g/t spectrum, but it was so fun! I think they do a great job of making everything accurate to Arrietty’s scale specifically instead of just “thing but big”.

- Arrietty must be much more popular in Japan. A lot of girls were wearing her hairclip or dressed similar to her, which makes me very happy!

- there is absolutely no Sho merch or merch including him which I find sad. but there was a pin of Niya!

- all the staff in the arrietty area noticed my tattoo and said it was very cute 🥹 so happy my girly gets so much love there

And my haul lolol. I wouldve bought the vinyl if i had seen it!!!

reverence in g/t the thought of a tiny being, a tiny person you can talk to and form a connection with, all the features of a person on a miniature scale, you can hold them in your hands... it must be so magical. and on the flipside, the majesty of a giant, the power behind each of their movements. awe-inspiring that a being could be that huge... and a bit intimidating. like a force of nature come to life.

both sizes worthy of being admired. the adorableness of a tiny, the beauty of a giant. both worthy of being called works of art in their own right.

Yeah so basically he can't unless he really focuses lmao. There was a lot of yelling when they initially were trying to work together, but Laurent doesn't really like raising his voice. plus, Gabriel is very loud because he is so big so he has to speak very softly. at one point they had to accept that physically getting closer to each other was a much easier way to communicate lol. but obv Laurent isn't exactly crazy about having to get near the giant man who can kill him with one flick

Childhood friend who swears they’re a giant and “just growing” and you laugh it off as some sort of weird inside joke. Then years later you reconnect on social media or something and ask to meet up at a coffee shop and you’re so excited to see them again! But uh oh! Theres this weird rhythmic earthquake making the ground tremble and the roof of the coffee shop is taken clean off by a massive, curious hand and you look up to see your friend like “omg haiii ^w^”

my all-time favorite impractical g/t trope is "random person grown to giant size in unethical lab experiment." like wtf is the purpose of it? now you gotta feed and clothe and take care of someone 20x the size of a normal person. you can barely restrain them, and they're gonna be pissed as hell that you grew them without consent. you went through alllll that effort to create an angry, scared, and depressed giant, who is probably gonna end up escaping at the hands of an employee due to genre convictions. awesome. 10/10. no notes. if i was the government and someone pitched this to me i would invest five billion taxpayer dollars on the spot i am dead serious. i love lab rat giants

Thats the point obviously. I WANT a scared confused pissed off giant so I can be the nice scientist who is lowkey against the whole operation and I can release them and let them be free but they grab me before I can leave the room and crash out of the facility with me in tow. Its all according to plan.
