Fairydoll chapter 1 is up!

A guard to the Royal court of Fairies aspires to be a knight, but when she intrudes on a beautiful fairy performing forbidden magic - her plans get turned upside down. Earwig is honorbound, but the fairy intrigues her, as she gets further tangled into her web of illusions, desire, and lies.

#great art!#Is she ambidextrous? She is fighting left handed for some parts but right handed for others.#I know that realism is not so much the point but in that first frame her right wrist is twisted forward when the proper way to hold #that guard is with the wrist in line with the forearm causing her to 'chicken wing'#I dont think it was intentional but the fact that you chose several high guards supports the fact that this is a duel for sport #a lot of those techniques come from meyer who was largely a sport fencer #my source is my HEMA instructor #take it with a grain of salt as i am quoting someone elses research and may be misreme #misremembered.#It made me happy when i saw her shieldhau in the middle panel of page two because that is something I was practicing last night.#Notably! a tricky move to pull off and it is unsurprising she drops her weapon right after. HAs she practiced that much?#Feel free to ignore this #I have brain worms that make me obsessed with swords #I will read more!#knight blogging
