“You know, Max,” Mia says, a roll of drafting paper tucked under her arm. “I usually throw a little party on Halloween for friends at my apartment. I don’t suppose you’d like to come?”
It’s an elegant movement, Maximilien thinks, and the cameras that fit behind his red ocular shields record Mia’s actions, then play the stream back again for his enjoyment. She’s quite lovely, the way tall flowers bending in the breeze are lovely.
“You know me too well.” And indeed, she does. Mia has correctly assessed his flair for the dramatic and his appreciation of fine garments.
Maximilien reaches out to take her free hand, then bows over it. Were he human, his face would be near enough to expel warm breath across her knuckles. A moment later, he straightens again.
“I don’t suppose you have any suggestions for a costume? I can pull off rather more than it might seem at a glance. I pride myself on my versatility.”
He allows ‘pull off’ to dangle as innuendo before continuing. “I’ll be curious to see what a fashion-forward creature like you will wear to such an event.” A metallic finger taps his mouth, indicating his consideration. “Will you give me a hint?”@talonsdesigner

‘ Come on, it wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t that bad. ‘
‘ I swear, man, you gotta update your cassette tape collection. ‘
‘ Don’t be afraid of the dark? What, are you kidding me? ‘
‘ Of course you should be afraid of the dark! You know what’s out there! ‘
‘ I’m not sure you realize just how much trouble you’re in here. ‘
‘ You wanna tell me what’s goin’ on in that freaky head of yours? ‘
‘ I’m supposed to be the belligerent one, remember? ‘
‘ Kids are strong. You’d be surprised what they can deal with. ‘
‘ Look, man, I get you’re nervous, alright, but you gotta stay focused. ‘
‘ I just think, whatever’s going to happen is going to happen. ‘
‘ You can either roll over and die or you can keep fighting, no matter what. ‘
‘ Stop askin’ if I need anything, stop askin’ if I’m okay. ‘
‘ You two have never worked a show in your lives before, have you? ‘
‘ There’s no maybe. Find the bad thing, kill it. ‘
‘ You’re telling me there’s no lore on how to smoke ‘em? ‘
‘ No one in their right mind chooses this life. ‘
‘ So, we’re eating bacon cheeseburgers for breakfast, are we? ‘
‘ I don’t want you doing… anything! I want you to sit right here, and don’t move! ‘
‘ So you’re only out for yourself, huh? It’s all about number one? ‘
‘ What the hell is wrong with you?! You don’t just go around shooting people like that! ‘
‘ Now, do you want me to help you out with that gun, or not, hm? ‘
‘ Did I just see you strike out with a prostitute? How’s that work? ‘
‘ You want to know what I did – what I really did? I had lunch. ‘
‘ So, you think the murders are what, a reenactment? That’s a little crazy. ‘
‘ Okay, how about you tell me where they are, or I kill you right now? ‘
‘ Well I’m just saying, he’s not leaving us a whole lot of options. ‘
‘ You know what, man? I’m sick and tired of your old stupid kamikaze trick. ‘
‘ I don’t know. I just, uh, I just woke up in a pine box… ‘
‘ I mean, we’re pretty much set to catch and kill anything I’ve ever heard of. ‘
‘ But what I do know is that I’m saving people. And stopping demons. ‘
‘ What’s the matter? You don’t think you deserve to be saved? ‘
‘ Human souls don’t just walk out of hell and back into their bodies easily! ‘
‘ I’m trying to come up with a theory, here. Okay? Work with me. ‘
‘ I mean, I’ve saved some people, okay? ‘
‘ It’s a spell to send the Witnesses back to rest. Should work… ‘
‘ Any chance you got everything we need here in this room? ‘
‘ That’s just not as appealing as a ghost-proof panic room, you know? ‘
‘ I thought you must have learned something. I thought I died for something. ’
‘ You know, I almost got my heart ripped out of my chest. ‘
‘ Read the Bible. Angels are warriors of God. I’m a soldier. ‘
‘ What, do you get your freak on by watching other people sleep? ‘
‘ Even if this sounds really weird, will you promise me that you will remember? ‘
‘ And you don’t care that he’s tearing up the future looking for me right now? ‘
‘ All right, well, first things first; how did we end up on Soul Plane? ‘
‘ Yes, I’m a fan, but I really don’t appreciate being mocked. ‘
‘ Oh, yeah? You’re sorry you started Armageddon?! ‘
‘ Keep mouthing off, I’ll break more than his legs. ‘
‘ There is no other way, there must be a battle. ‘
‘ Don’t be afraid. This is your choice. You need to invite me in. ‘
‘ I just can’t keep pretending that everything’s all right. Because it’s not. ‘
‘ You chose a demon over your own brother…and look what happened. ‘
‘ I just don’t…I don’t think that we can ever be what we were.. ‘
‘ I lost everything, for nothing. So keep your opinions to yourself. ‘
‘ I’m in no shape to be hunting. I need to step back, 'cause I’m dangerous. ‘
‘ Haven’t we been down this road before? ‘
‘ I was dead from the moment we said hello. ‘
‘ Don’t you get it? You can’t run from yourself. Why are you running now?? ‘
‘ Would you believe I’m actually trying to protect you? ‘
‘ Same song, different verse. Things are never gonna change with you. Never. ‘
‘ You were wasted by a Teenage Mutant Ninja Angel? ‘
‘ Riddle wrapped inside an enigma wrapped inside a taco? ‘
‘ We’re humans. And when humans want something, really, really bad…we lie. ‘
‘ Oh. Well, last night on earth, what, uh…what’re your plans? ‘
‘ This whole industry runs on absent fathers, it’s- it’s the natural order. ‘
‘ Do you remember the twentieth century? Think the twenty-first is going any better? ‘
‘ Aren’t you a surprise? You’ve come a long way to see this, haven’t you? ‘
‘ I’m sorry. It must be painful, speaking to me in this…shape. ‘
‘ Why? Why would I want to destroy this stunning thing? ‘
‘ Oh, good God, you’re not gonna tell me a bedtime story, are ya? ‘
‘ I know that “Supernatural” is just a book, okay? I know the difference between fantasy and reality. ‘
Hey! Thanks for the follow! I know we don't interact much with your soldier blog but I'm always up for threads or plots if you are! ♥

Rules
Don’t be an asshole. Respect my opinion and go argue somewhere else. I put up ooc material because I want to express myself, not to debate.
I’m not your father. Don’t expect me to moderate my content for you. I’ll do my best to tag the biggies, but I’m forgetful.
For shipping, I am exclusive to certain partners. So IF YOU’RE A CANON BLOG LOOKING TO SHIP, YOU MAY WANT TO ASK FIRST. I write non-shippy stuff a lot, so it may not matter.
I’m really, REALLY slow. Please, please, PLEASE, do not push or prod me for threads or replies. It makes me a nervous wreck and I’ve got enough irl nerves.
Technically, I’m multiship and open to polyships, but not gonna lie: I tend to be shy and timid around shipping, so it can be a slow burn. Really slow.
I prefer pre-established relationships and if given the chance, I will default to our characters already knowing each other, even if your character is an OC.

six word story
“Boy or girl?” “We’ll never know.”
devil’s due
One for sorrow, two for joy; three for our girl, and four for our boy.
Five for her life, six for my death; seven for summer, and the days we have left.
Eight for the lovers, nine for the lost, ten for the nights barren with frost.
Eleven for you and twelve for me; thirteen, beware of devils with keys.
i have, like, negative time right now, but have an ungodly sketchy scribble of corsair!ana since she can rob my heart anytime. ♥

(1st picture - ’End of the Line’, by hogthrob, featuring: ‘welcome to shell beach’ postcard. 2nd picture - left to right, Inspector Frank Bumstead, Doctor Daniel Schreber, and John Murdoch, all mentioned)
"Here, let me ask you a question. You heard of a place called Shell Beach?"
The inspector shrugs, trenchcoat swishing with the movement of his shoulders. "Sure."
"Do you know how to get there?"
"Yeah."
"Tell me."
"Right. You just... you go to the..."
"Where? Where do you go?" Murdoch presses again, blue-eyed gaze burning into the cop.
"Just give me a second, will you..."
"You can't remember, can you?" Murdoch says with a nod, as if this is what he's expected all along. "When was the last time you remember doing something during the day?"
"What do you mean?" The taller man is cautious, his sad bloodhound face not just tired anymore. It's wary now too.
"I just mean during the day," Murdoch says. "Daylight. When was the last time you remember seeing it? And I'm not talking about some distant, half-forgotten childhood memory, I mean like yesterday. Last week. Can you come up with a single memory? You can't, can you? You know something, I don't think the sun even... exists... in this place. 'Cause I've been up for hours, and hours, and hours, and the night never ends here."
Murdoch stops himself with a memory: him, opening the door to what should be the Shell Beach subway stop. Instead, he sees the same sign he saw earlier. A painted mural advertising the beach, sunny and bright, its blues blinding against the old and faded bricks. He walks up to the sign, confused.
"There is no ocean, John," the memory of Doctor Schreber tells him. "There is nothing beyond the city. The only place home exists... is in your head."
NOTE: Do yourself a favor and watch the 1998 movie 'Dark City'. This writing is 'novelized' from the film.
