It was supposed to be a normal day.
Unfortunately for Natsuo, it wasn't turning out to be that way. He’d been on his way home from another fruitless search for his older brother Touya, when he spotted two things, in this exact order. Three figures atop a roof, with their eyes on a boy who seemed to be the same age, if not slightly older than Natsuo’s y o u n g e r brother Shoto.
The League, no doubt. Natsuo had a bad feeling, and got off his bike. Why hadnt this kid noticed the trio yet?
@tamakis-quirk
Tamaki had just finished up work at Fatgum’s agency for the day, and was heading home for the night. Just a normal day, normal route home––but really, he hadn’t gone through so much at UA and the agency to not be able to notice when someone was watching him. And not the usual anxiety of people watching him; that he knew how to deal with, how to ignore it and just keep watching. This time, though, he thought he’d seen something, someone, out of the corner of his eye, and the feeling of eyes on the back of his neck hadn’t gone away yet.
He didn’t want to walk faster and alert them that he knew they were there, so that left just walking as anxiety-ridden as usual. He started to take a different route than usual, just in case, in the hopes that they would lose interest.
Natsuo was tense. He knew that if he made any moves, those three figures would attack. He air around him grew slightly colder. He didnt have a choice though. They'd attack either way. So he dashed forward to the boy, grabbed his arm, and kept running, seconds before the three League members struck. And only hit a wall of ice.
“Don’t say anything, just run!” He yells over his shoulder.
Initially his first instinct had been to rip his hand away, but moments later the words processed and Tamaki let himself be dragged and start running. The ice wall had been a surprise; he didn’t recognize the person holding onto his arm, but at the very least, he seemed concerned for Tamaki’s safety. After a long day he didn’t have much left in his system to manifest, maybe enough for a small burst, but if he could just open his bag…
Tamaki kept running to the best of his ability, trying to keep a read on where the villains were, while at the same time scrambling to get to the small pouches of food still in his bag. Clams might be the most useful if he were by himself, but there was someone with him––though he seemed able to defend himself, if the ice wall had anything to say about it––maybe he still has some swordfish? Looking for specific foods would take too much attention, though, and keeping an eye on where he’s going and where others are was a priority. He just needed a little more time.
Was this kid looking for something? He supposed the turbulence of running wasn’t helping. But it didnt matter. He kept running, and this kid was keeping up so far. The villains, or at least one of them, the smallest… Toga, was it? Yeah, her. The bloodsucker, was hot on their heels.
he'd make another wall and try to create something bigger with his ice, but what he had in mind would probably injure the kid too if he did it while they were running. Plan B.
“How well can you keep your balance, bud?“
“Well enough.” Was his brusque response, confused by the question. Tamaki didn’t have much room to argue with any plan at this point, still rummaging through a bag and running at top speed. He was starting to get nervous––did he leave his reserves at the agency? Or was it just difficult to find anything when you’re running from villains with someone you’ve never met before? Either way, they couldn’t run forever, if he could just…there!
Grabbing the first pouch he felt and barely looking at the label––probably clams, based on the color––Tamaki ripped it open and devoured the contents. Definitely clams. It would take a moment before he could manifest anything, but for now, it sounded like this person had a plan. He reached back into his bag, now knowing where to feel for the pouches, pulling out the next two he felt and moving them to his pockets for easier access, just in case. Three villains; Tamaki hadn’t gotten a good look at any of them. He had no clue what their quirks were, much less what to prepare for. “You have a plan?”
“yeah, i have a plan.” Natsuo says. “the fact you can keep your balance well plays into it well. they arent all that good at it, so…… if i guve us both an advantage…..” the odd, white-haired stranger promptly stomps once with one foot, and a sheet of ice rapidly spreads out from under his foot, towards the gapproaching villain girl, and her two comrades: one with a hat, and the tthird, one very familiar to everyone, students and cvilians alike. Shigaraki Tomura.
“Got it.” This guy knows these villains? Not that it’s important at the moment––it’s clear enough that he was trying to protect Tamaki from them, and he clearly had more information. In any case, he seemed to want to help against these villains, assuming he thought they were villains. Maybe he was a villain, and thought Tamaki was also a villain? Unlikely, but not impossi––stop that. Now was not the time to overanalyze this stranger’s motives, or who he recognized as a hero or a villain.
Besides, the League of Villains was recognizable enough, lately.
Ripping open another pouch and devouring its contents, Tamaki braced himself on the ground and lashed out with a tentacle, trying to grab and immobilize the girl first. She had a blood quirk, right? She had a knife, at least, and keeping her from using it was a priority.
The Girl squeals in alarm when she’s grabbed by the teentacle, and Natsuo grins. Perfect! that meant he could take care of thelad wiith the mask and top hat. more ice seems to form from the sheet beneat tthe white haired boy and his new comrade, quickly immobilizing the Masked fellow. Tomura doesnt seem impressed. “okay….. since thats obviously Tomura, we’re gonna need another course of action, since we cant let him touch either of us….”
“A touch-based quirk? How dangerous?” Tamaki adjusts his grip just enough to let him pull his shoes off, manifesting a pair of talons to keep a better grip on the ground as the ice spreads. If the other members had touch-based quirks, lashing out a tentacle to grab them would be too hasty a decision. For all he knew, they could immobilize him in one go if he branched out too far––waiting until he had more intel, that was likely available from his new companion, would be a much safer plan.
Sun Eater!! 🌞

How to stay sane during quarantine
I have chronic depression and executive dysfunction. I’ve also been working from home for a good few years now. I’ve learned a lot, so I think I have some advice to help all of the people that are now stuck at home for long periods of time.
1. Shower, change your clothes, brush your hair, brush your teeth, shave. Anything that you would normally do first thing in the morning to prep for school/work, you still need to do it. Our minds crave the routine, and your body doesn’t suddenly stop needing to be clean because no one is seeing it dirty.
2. Do everything in your mortal power to keep the same sleep schedule you had before. For the absolute love of god. Set an alarm and stick to it as if your life depended on it. Fucking with your circadian rhythm is the #1 to make you feel like dog shit.
3. Keep a journal or at least a calendar. It helps the days matter. If you don’t have something concrete to look at each morning or night to remember the day and the date, everything starts to meld together. It fucks with your soul. And besides, you’re living through a historical event. If any time was the time to start documenting your life, it’s now.
4. Stay in touch with your friends. It doesn’t matter how, as long as you do. Discord is a go-to. Even Facebook works. There’s also Watch2Gether, where you can watch videos online with friends.
5. If you’re religious, continue practicing your faith within the comfort of your home. Your God doesn’t care where you pray. They get it. It’s cool. This is especially important if religious gatherings were a part of your normal life. Right now, everything is scary. Find comfort where you can.
6. Pets are important. Take care of them well if you have them. Walk them or let them get exercise. Play with them. Cuddle them. You both are made healthier with the contact.
7. Pick up a hobby you’ve always wanted to but never had the time or energy. It’ll let you feel productive and give you the feeling of accomplishment that school and work might. And it’ll keep your mind engaged.
8. It’s tempting, but don’t binge watch or play. Don’t watch the entire SVU franchise back to back, or spend 12 hours playing Morrowind. You shouldn’t do anything for such a prolonged period of time. It turns something that should be a reward into the emotional and mental equivalent to junk food. If you have to, at lest cycle what you’re watching/playing.
9. Work out. You’re going to gain weight, that’s normal. It’s a drastic change to… well, everything, but especially your body. This is twice as likely if you eat when you’re emotional/bored.
10. Fuck me, stop watching the damn news so much. Social media counts, too. Maybe check once a day, once every other day. You’re freaking yourself out for no good reason. The numbers aren’t so important that you need to know it every hour of the day. You don’t need to see what stupid things someone said or did. Our brains weren’t meant for this.
11. If you have the luxury, go outside. This is maybe one of the most important ones. If you live far enough from others, take a walk. Maybe bike. If you can’t, go in your yard and relax. If all else fails, open every window in the house. Homes can constrict you if you stay there for to long. It starts to feel like a prison, and you go stir crazy. No home should feel like a prison.
12. If you have one, your therapist very likely offers online visits. Most state insurances that cover therapy/counseling also include online visits as an accessibility feature. Even if you don’t normally attend therapy, you may need it to combat situational anxiety and depression, which is just as important as their chronic cousins.
Uh. Hope I helped. I’ve always sucked at concluding statements.
here’s to everyone hitting a low point after doing really well. you’re amazing and so strong and your hard work is not erased. you will find happiness again
