A QUEEN
Okay, I donāt normally add on to posts but in this case Iāve got to.
Rachel Ann Bovier is a Pittsburgh legend who has been publishing her poems in city newspapers for decades. In more recent years, she started putting up these bill boards along major roads. For what reason? I have no clue. But I would often pass them on my way to Oakland for therapy. They never failed to cheer me up.
As a young trans writer, they gave me this precious little spark of joy. There was someone like me, a writer, a Pittsburgher, a trans person, who was confident enough to put their face on a bill board! I would always smile as we passed by and my mom took note.
Fast forward a few years and itās my 21st birthday. My mom has been super excited about my gift and teased me about it over and over again. She said it was the best gift sheād ever gotten me and in many ways she was right. It was a custom poem she commissioned from Miss Bouvier! It congratulated me on my birthday, my academic success, lots of little stuff. It was simple and sweet and perfect.
Iām still not out to my parents about being trans, but that poem serves as a reminder to me that trans people are every where, they are artists, they are all ages, and their visibility is essential. So thank you to Rachel Ann Bouvier for being a great poetess and a Pittsburgh treasure!

Silly bird brain cramorant as a pet?š¦¤š¦¤š¦¤
While it is technically the case that caring for a cramorant would not be beyond the means of most owners, it would be one heck of a headache. These pokĆ©mon need a lot of attention, but I canāt argue that they donāt have a special charm to them with their goofy look and simple minds.
Cramorants are far from too large to be a house pet at two-and-a-half feet, but they might be a little too big for some owners. While wild cramorants make their homes by the sea, there is no indication that they need to live by the water to be happy. If you do have a pool or a pond for them to swim in it would be a huge plus, but it isnāt necessary. What is necessary, however, is some serious, serious cramorant-proofing.
You see, cramorants are simple creatures. According to the pokĆ©dex, cramorants āinstinctively swallow everything wholeā whether it is actually food or not (Scarlet). This includes, most notably, pokĆ©mon as large as pikachus, which they canāt even physically swallow and can easily choke on (Sword - Gorging Form, Scarlet - Gorging Form). The frustrating thing is that cramorants canāt even learn from their mistakes, because they dedicate so little energy to their brains (Violet). You would need to be constantly aware of what your cramorant can get its beak on to ensure that it does not choke. If you have other small animals or pokĆ©mon as pets, steer clear from a cramorant unless you want to be fishing them out of their throat.
Cramorants are also known to be pretty aggressive, although few of their moves pose a serious threat: a cramorantās main weapon is the food that they try to consume, like arrokudas (their prey of choice) which they can launch like a missile (Violet - Gulping Form). Again, so long as you take serious care in curating what your cramorant can swallow, you should be okay, itās just going to be a rather annoying experience.
All-in-all, I really canāt recommend a cramorant to anyone but the most dedicated cramorant fan. Caring for one would be such a headache, like caring for a toddler who constantly tries to eat a cat whole instead of just trying to swallow small toys. I would recommend sticking to admiring wild cramorants from a safe, out-of-arrokuda-range distance.
