THE [email protected] Ep 07 review/spoilers - “The powerful message”.
The perfect balance about kindness, friendship, hardship and hardwork. These are the mix of feelings of episode 07. The idolmaster.kr brings you into a real world about idols. And for those who are not idols too.
Episode 07 begins with a frustrated Youngjoo after her argument with Taeri and Sori, showing her inner regret and the nostalgic of the past memories with her team. It shows she has a heart after all, but it is not her lack of heart what pushes her to the limit. The drama prestends to give the public the image of how angry we can turn when our dreams seem to be far away (more every day). But when we are about to see the soft side of the Debut Team’s leader, Youngjoo makes her move making Taeri feels bad about herself. Is it how life goes? Actually-and saddly-it is. I want to price the important message introduced in this kdrama: body-weight and eating disorders. This is the first time in my experience that I have seen such a problem in a Korean TV drama.
No more cliché romance. Lets talk about something we are afraid to talk. Constantly kpop idols are asked to be, look and talk in certain way to be accepted by the public and if they have luck, they will succeed. Why is it a taboo? Because idols need to be not only skinny but “pretty (beautiful) skinny”. Is it bad? No. If and only if they can do it right. The [email protected] is trying to tell us that. Taeri not only lacks of confidence but she’s body-shamed making her go into the unhealthy path of eating disorders. I am so impressed with how well written the story is. The feelings are there and they touch your heart but what you see next is what is going to blow you (or your inner you) in tears.
Another real life situation is presented later. Jiseul, better known as the “ice-princess” of the team, sneaks during practice to go some where else. Rookie team wonder why until Yeseul tells them the news: Jiseul is indeed working. Mint is the rich girl of the team. Her charcater is very simple -by now- and is very cliché. However this is the soul of her story, I got the feeling that she will develope a very turbulent friendship with the ice princess that will make all of us waiting for more. Mint does not know what a hardship is, she has never worked for something in her life (hypothetically) which leads her to the confusion: why does Jiseul need to work? But this is not far from reality. The value of getting what you want out of hard work seems to be lost in todays youth. The big punch of what you always thought only existed in TV or movies is what moves you and touches you.
The first fight beetween Mint and Jiseul finally happens and two words collide. This is the punch the girls receive to see beyond. Jiseul has economic problems and she is the head of her family wich is the same problem that is attacking these last years. We constantly find teens and young adults fighting to bring food to the table and some of them forget about their dreams in order to survive the situation. Have you ever wondered how many idols started from the very bottom? It is difficult to think about it when they all look perfect on stage. Life can be a bubble.
The episode is not all sad, we get to see one of my two favorite scenes of this chapter: The CEO and the producer have a conversation about the girls. This is when we should pay more attention … what is the point of working so hard for our dreams if we are not enjoying the process? We focus ourselves on winning but when the time comes and we won we feel like it was for nothing. The mistakes and the hope, the hardships and the faith, everything is part of the big puzzle of reaching our goals.
The end of the episode is even sadder. But the beauty of it is Jiseul’s sister who talks to the girls about their family’s situation and how Jiseul works day and night. The little girl cries and we get touched again. Facing the real word is hard. As she’s afraid that her sister might lose her jobs, Rookie takes her place and goes to work. The best way to end is the shocking moment when Yeeun finally meets Jeewon again. Jeewon who used to be her bestfriend and the one who betrayed her for the spot in some other company. As is shown, Jeewon does not end up very well either and the feelings of meeting once again fly in the air. I want to make a special mention for the people in charge to run the music in every episode, the back-track and the scene left you wanting for more.

I cut Jane’s line from the first version of One for All and pasted on the new one. Wich means you can hear Jane’s voice much more.
Real Girls Project - Review Part 1
Note 1: This is MY OWN point of view. This is NOT a fact, just my opinion.
Note 2: The ranks doesn’t include visuals or popularity.
It’s been so long since we meet, right? I’ve been writing this for a week, researching, rewatching... Why? I’m excited about this group. Let’s begin with the individuals ranks:
Hana Byul
Vocal ability: 10/10 - Dance skills: 8.2/10 - Stage presence: 8.8/10
Final: 26.9/30 - 89.67/100
She's a gem. Her voice stands out over the rest of the girls. Although I'm not a big fan of high pitch voices I think she's strong. The reason I gave her 10/10 comes with the ability of dance and maintain her voice loud and clear. Her voice seems to be trained very well and I can't find actual abnormalities. High notes on point, but I hope she'll be able to practice low key notes for future ballads.
When it comes to dance she's no the best one in the group, however she's close to be. I find her moves very smooth and sexy. Even with a cute choreo. I'm not saying she's a born dancer but she's a comfortable one for sure. Sometimes her intent of being too expressive make her lose some coordination but still good. Train a bit more and she will take the centre at least once.
Hana's stage presence it's amazing! I have to say it is impossible take your eyes off of her. Not trying to be percent of something but her body line makes her super attractive. She know how to make you look at her and her expressions are way to sexy. She's the sexy appeal of the team.
Youngjoo
Vocal ability: 9.5/10 - Dance skills: 8.5/10 - Stage presence: 8.7/10
Final: 26.7/30 - 89/100
Youngjoo has experience singing of course, since she was part of The SeeYa. Her vocal ability ranks 3rd, but I have to say just by my own taste her voice is one of my favourites. Youngjoo is one of the members who add a deeper sound in the music, because the high pitch is very loud in their songs... Youngjoo has a sound very classy. Low and medium-high notes are good.
When it comes to dance, Youngjoo works very hard but different from Hana, she's a very natural dancer. Her long legs sometimes doesn't allow her to be a bit faster so she may lose the time in the choreography HOWEVER, those legs help her to be very strong with the moves so you notice her while dancing. Needs (more) strength in her moves, tho.
Stage presence isn't a problem, she's pretty but I'm not talking about visuals. When I ranked her performing skills I have to say I wasn't super excited but I wasn't near to be disappointed. Youngjoo owns the stage without being selfish, she doesn't make way to much contact with the audience but stills captivating. However she doesn't stands out at first but you will notice her at some point in the performance.
Jiwon
Vocal ability: 9.6/10 - Dance skills: 8/10 - Stage presence: 9/10
Final: 26.6/30 - 88.67/100
Jiwon and Youngjoo are almost in the same path, but I will say Jiwon is just a bit better. Jiwon high pitch voice isn't what I like the most, but the nasal technique helps her with the high notes. She isn't as good as Hana but veeeery close. What I find not that amazing is how she try's to sing high even when she doesn't need to and makes her lines sound annoying. Still, Jiwon has an amazing breath control which is good. She's able to sing and not get tired very soon.
Dance skills aren amazing but good enough to keep up with those who are mains. Jiwon's "pretty vibe" makes her look like a living doll while dancing. Her moves are on point but they lack of energy, less cuteness and more powerful steps will help her to not look like a lazy dancer.
Among every girl, Jiwon got the best stage presence (at least in my opinion). Because she's main vocalist after Hana, Jiwon gets good lines and she manage herself to play with the public and give a sassy vibe but for some reason still friendly while looking like a "mean pretty girl". She didn't got 10/10 because I feel like she barely looks at her members to interact during the performance and I consider that point really important.
Recently found out she was part of the original line-up in Gfriend.
Jane
Vocal ability: 8.5/10 - Dance skills: 9/10 - Stage presence: 8.5/10
Final: 26/30 - 86.67/100
The maknae, Jane's vocals are impressive with her young age and she's able to control her voice very well. Which I don't like is how she suddenly change her technique, now she's more nasal singer than before. Her voice is much better when it's all natural. Probably because she's young the tone is very high and "childish", but it doesn't reach the high pitch yet. However she can do high notes and maintain her voice in a great volume. With time she's gonna do much better.
Jane's dance skills have no complains, she's just lacking of experience. But I believe she's a natural born dancer. Her moves are on point and very precise. She has a lot of fun while dancing and "flirts" with the audience. Anyway, she needs more practice not to get better but for a better performance. I saw her losing her balance a lot of times, probably she was nervous or too excited.
Her stage presence is ok. Better than I though. When she performed with THE ARK last year, she was better. Or maybe she stood out because her past team were only five. As I said, a love how she flirts in a very innocent way. She smiles but also laughs a lot. However you lose her among the girls sometimes. Be stronger, maknae.
Sori
Vocal ability: 8/10 - Dance skills: 9/10 - Stage presence: 8.5/10
Final: 25.5/30 - 85/100
Sori's vocal ability is hanging around because I don't have enough material to actually tell. So I'm basing on what I heard in COCOSORI and now. I think Sori has a good voice, she can sings well. She is not impressive with high or low notes but her voice is deep just like Youngjoo. It fits perfect, but tends to crack when she tries to maintain long notes. I like her voice colour, she adds something new because high pitch voices are usual in cute concepts but Sori gives me mature vibes (in her voice).
Although Sori seems to be good with gymnastics, she's not the best when it comes to dancing. Of course she's one of the bests! But her moves are just a average, or maybe better than average. Needs strength and energy, she adds good vibe and smile but forgets important dance points. I hope she can add gymnastic in their next choreography. She's amazing by that side.
Performing, you will probably notice her because she shines a lot. But again, she gets distracted easily. I feel like sometimes she forgets there is an audience and it's like she's dancing all alone. Also a perceive a nervous remark, maybe? I hope she gets more and more used to be with more people in her team so she won't forget she needs to perform along with them.
Mintty
Vocal ability: 6/10 - Dance skills: 10/10 - Stage presence: 8.8/10
Final: 24.8/30 - 82.67/100
It's pretty clear. Mintty's voice isn't the best one and I have to say is one of the weakest in the team. I guess I rather listen her rap than her singing but I don't think she's totally bad. She got nasal but half-deep tone. Also, she's no able to do any high note because she can't reach the notes, the breathing wouldn't allow her. It was an smart move give her short lines that can match her type of voice. I don't know if she will improve so we will see.
I don't any complain with the dance skills. Mintty is for sure the best one. She's obviously the centre. Mintty's style focus on hip-hop but she's a fierce! I love her confidence while dancing and I'm guessing her short heigh helps her to be precise and fast. Also, she got muscle. You can see how much power she puts on her moves.
Mintty adds new colours to the team and I can see why she got chosen. She clearly owns the stage, when her moment comes she shines. It's a shame she spend most of the time behind. Mintty needs way more time in the front because I'm sure people want see her. She just need more time on the spotlight and of course play with her members, too much flirting with the public. But of course she has fun on stage which is important.
Haseo
Vocal ability: 7.5/10 - Dance skills: 8.5/10 - Stage presence: 8/10
Final: 24/30 - 80/100
I don't want judge Haseo as vocalist only. She's also a rapper, yeah R.G.P. isn't about rap but she got skills, dude. Definitely better at rapping than singing. Haseo doesn't have any special high or low tone BUT she's very stable on live, her voice is louder than the backtrack which means she's strong. Alain her voice colour it's in the middle, not too high and not too deep. Just ok.
I'm wondering if Haseo practices or practiced ballet at some point in her life. She doesn't stand out in the choreography like Mintty, but just like her voice Haseo got powerful moves, not even close to be a lazy dancer. Maybe because the others steal the spotlight while dancing, I guess Haseo only needs practice a bit more and she will scale up in the ranking.
I'm not sure if I notice Haseo because of her presence or because she got one of the stronger visuals in the group lol. Haseo is more than average but still... nothing impressive, YET. I think got more to show. I hope she stops pushing herself back. She plays and smiles but doesn't interact that much with the audience. However she looks stunning while performing.
Suji
Vocal ability: 6/10 - Dance skills: 9/10 - Stage presence: 8.5/10
Final: 23.5/30 - 78.33/100
I'm not sure if Suji would be the weakest vocalist, actually I rather call her sub-vocalist. When I heard she improved since The Ark I was expecting more, tbh. Suji can't carry a entire song by herself and the volume of her voice is low. On live you can barely hear her. However she got another deep voice, it makes the difference in harmonies. Suji's strength is on harmonies, the feeling of her voice is calm and almost a whisper you enjoy. I get why she doesn't get more lines but it's probably for the best. I like low tone tho. She adds a mature sound just like Youngjoo.
No complains for her dance skills, she's really good and second one in the ranking. I already explain the difference of being a natural born dancer and a hardworking dancer. Suji is a hardworking one. Powerful moves, never looks out of energy and she got a pretty aura. I think she needs more flexibility? She looks stiff or thigh, but she will fix it with time. Definitely looking forward to her dancing.
Performing, Suji is good but now she doesn't stand out because her pretty face. During The Ark's time, Suji was notice for being pretty and good at dancing. As a R.G.P. member she doesn't own the spotlight at all. However when her moment comes, you will say "Oh, look at Suji" because you can't pass without looking at her. Since she doesn't get more lines and she's not the centre I hope she stops being shy and show more of her.
Yeeun
Vocal ability: 7.5/10 - Dance skills: 7.8/10 - Stage presence: 7.5/10
Final: 22.8/30 - 76/100
At the beginning I saw Yeeun as a possible lead vocal but now I'm not entirely sure. Her voice is pretty and cute, she has a high tone but it's completely different of Jiwon's and Hana's and she's not all nasal as Jane. Yeeun sings with her natural voice. Not very stable on live performance but I think it's just the songs, aren't best match for her voice. She needs practice in her high notes, she cracks easily and gets out of breath too.
I don't see her a lazy dancer but doesn't reach the level of a dancer. She's average. Her dance is more like a cute girl dancing while having fun but she misses times, she got no strong moves but I gotta admit she's natural having fun with a I consider important. I guess dancing isn't her strength but nothing she can't fix with hard work.
Yeeun needs work a lot on her stage presence. She's the member you don't know. You don't notice her, most of the time will look like a OT9 team. Sometimes you glaze at her because of her cute face (she looks like a fake maknae) but nothing makes her shine. I got the feeling that she's shy? I know she can do much better so I hope she works harder and harder.
Yukika
Vocal ability: 7/10 - Dance skills: 4/10 - Stage presence: 7/10
Final: 18/30 - 60/100
I live Yukika's voice but sadly ain't strong. She tends to crack when she keeps the note for a few seconds. I think she can improve whit more training but I don't think will become a lead vocal or something. Anyway, she's doings good work right now. The lines she gets suits her voice. Yes, Yukika can sing a bit more than now.
Yukika is the "lazy dancer" in the group, not because she's actually lazy but because her dance skills aren't as good as everyone and in fact, I feel like she's not even trying at all. I can't tell if she's bad or if she doesn't like or maybe she has trouble with it. I even watched some videos of the girls practicing and Yukika can't follow them. She improved since that but she needs work harder.
Her stage presence it's ok. And I say ok because you look at her at some point of the performance but then you get distracted by someone else and forget Yukika is there. Her visuals help her a lot but I'm not counting visuals for the ranking. She looks like a doll: no-feeling, thigh smile. I hope she work on it. Have fun on stage and interact with the public a bit more.

what kind of surgery did yujin get?
It was for vocal nodules. I'm not aware about the problem, but the treatment post-surgery is long. That's why YuJin has been absent for months.
A TOTAL ABSOLUTELY NO for all of the members by B.I when it comes to his sister😂😂 so this matter still going on after such a long time. Still, diva Ju-Ne pay little attention to B.I’s objection😆 from “Haru Hana Japanese magazine interview ” cr on pic
Some times I feel like B.I. biased
