I made it to Utah ! We’ve been settling in the last week and have been exploring. It’s honestly so beautiful here.

I start my new nursing job next week. Kinda nervous !

Had my last day !! They decorated the break room for me, my weekend ANM gave a little speech and gave me a card signed by all my fav nurses, and my manager brought me this cute cake. Although I had an insanely busy day, I definitely felt the love.

Will miss my weekend crew and all of my other favorite nurses there.

On to new adventures. 👋

It’s getting close !!

One more week on my unit. One more week with my nurse buddies. Gonna miss ‘em. Took some of my friends out to vintage bowling at Mahall’s in Cleveland. Very cute spot. You keep track of your score on paper and the drink menu is early 2k themed.

I’ll miss everyone but I’m also getting a little antsy to get out of here and start our next chapter.

On my last two weeks working on this unit. It’s bittersweet for sure !

Lowkey getting spoiled orienting a new nurse that has like 4 years of prior experience and is a Nurse Practitioner looking for a job haha. Barely have to do anything other than teaching her internal medicine workflow and policies for different meds/procedures. She’s doing great.

I’ll miss everyone here a lot. I’ve made some great friends here in Ohio and I’m definitely comfortable on my unit after being here for 2.5 years.

Making friends as an adult is so hard and annoying Lolol. 😂🙄 I joked with my partner I’m going to download Bumble for the Bumble friends feature in Utah 😂 I doubt I will though. I haven’t had great luck with that in the past. Hopefully have some younger friendly nurses on my new unit. Fingers crossed !

6 Week Countdown!

Officially on my last schedule period for the current unit I’m working on. It’s definitely bittersweet.

I’ll be excited to be leaving Internal Medicine, as the patient population can at times be very trying... but I’ll miss the diversity in patient cases.

Over the last 2.5 years I have learned so, so much from working on this unit. I’ve had so many memorable and sweet moments with my patients and colleagues. I’ll miss everyone I worked with. It was a very supportive environment to start my nursing career.

I’ll be moving to Specialty Surgical Transplant! Very similar except transplant patient focused. I’ve been told the patient population is a lot nicer and grateful as a whole, which can be a little more rewarding for me personally. I’ll get to learn more about transplant surgeries and post-op care, which I see very, very little of currently. I like learning new things. My new job will also have an IV ultrasound machine on the unit, which I am soooo excited for. It’s definitely one of my favorite skills that I can do at work haha. Very satisfying. Would have been sad if they didn't have one for me to use.

I’ve been interested in maybe becoming a transplant coordinator in the future, so this new floor will give me better insight to if that actually is a good fit for me.

Admitted the most adorable elderly lady last night. So funny and quirky. I just couldn’t believe how frail she was! 4’11” and only 69lbs. Truly just skin and bones. Putting my stethoscope to her chest I was worried I would hurt her and bruise the thin skin covering her rib cage. Was a little shocking honestly.

Oof. Yesterday’s shift was just ridiculous. Hanging blood and IVIG and all other kinds of meds at the same time was a TASK. Had a timer on my phone going off every 15 minutes so I wouldn’t forget to titrate or do vitals.

Would like to not do that again for a while haha.
