Nick had always associated touch with either pain or or eye-rolling pleasure, sometimes both at once, and he considered his hands both used performing a spell or between the legs of a willing partner.
But Sabrina taught him new ways to use them nearly every day. Sometimes she brushed a runaway curl from his forehead and other times she grasped his hand in hers. He never knew that linking fingers could bring about a jolt of electricity and warmth to his heart. But it did and now his hands sought out hers, not feeling quite right if her hand wasn't locked in his.
He nearly flinched when Sabrina brushed her hands along his back, now bruised and bloodied and scratched up. Nick was terrified to let her see the tears that were running down his cheeks as he cradled Amalia's head in his lap. He feared that if she saw him as anything but the charming and confident warlock he pretended to be, she'd want nothing to do with him. And he couldn't lose her, not now after he knew he loved her. He'd never been loved back before. Amalia's so called love was distorted, jealousy and rage clouding it. And his parents, they wouldn't know love if it spat in his face.
But then Sabrina kissed his hands. And his forehead. And then his lips. She called him virtuous, told him his love for Amalia didn't make him weak and then held him in her arms. It was then that he finally let all the tears come out. She whispered soothing words in his ear and ran her hand up and down his back. His breath eventually evened out and he pulled back from her, just enough to see that her eyes were shining with unshed tears. She wouldn't let them fall though, not when she knew that Nick needed her. And despite how angry she was that he lied to her, she didn't want to let go of him either.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Sabrina whispered to him, moving one hand from the back of his neck to dry his cheeks.
Nick shook his head and leaned in to the hand against his cheek. He leaned his forehead against hers and breathed out.
"What am I gonna do now, Sabrina?" He asked her, voice coming out all crackly and wet.
"What do you mean?" Sabrina ran a hand through his hair and then down his cheek and chest until she could grab his, thumb brushing against his palm.
"Amalia was it." He said with a sad shrug. "She was the last one. I have no one. No family."
"Oh, Nick..." Sabrina told him as she brushed his cheek again.
"Now I have to bury her and then that'll be it. The last person in my family."
"Nick, I'm sorry-" Sabrina tried to explain, immediately blaming herself for Amalia's death. "I'm sorry that I-"
"No, Spellman, no." Nick shook his head and moved to wipe her cheeks, as she was no longer able to hold them in. "You did what I couldn't. She was gonna hurt you and I couldn't let that happen."
"Still." Sabrina told him. "I'm sorry. You still have the Academy and-"
"No, Sabrina." Nick shook his head and looked down. "I, uh...with Amalia gone I don't have anyone."
The despair and sadness in Nick's eyes cut Sabrina deeply. He was grieving, but he was wrong about being alone. Sabrina grabbed both sides of his face so he'd look at her.
"You have me." Sabrina did her best not to let her voice shake, so she kissed him again, sinking every promise that she wasn't going anywhere into it. She breathed against his lips, brushing their noses together as she continued. "Nick, you'll aways have me."
"You must hate me." Nick looked away from her, shame and guilt sinking into the space between them. He couldn't believe that she'd want to stay with him, even though she'd just said it.
"I don't hate you. I don't know that I could ever hate you, Nicholas Scratch." She smiled a little, letting the corners of her lips turn upwards. "Why don't we take care of Amalia, and then maybe a bath?" She asked and ran her hand through his curls. "Some tea and some sleep?"
"Okay." Nick nodded and swallowed heavily. When he looked into her eyes again he swore he saw love. He certainly loved her. "Okay."
He let her take him by the hand and that same jolt was there. He let her compassion and care sink into his skin, into every cell in his body. Someday he thought he may truly believe that he wasn't alone. And he hoped that the love he saw in her eyes would stick around too.
From an upcoming prompt, where the nonnie requested a royalty AU and it’s now turning out to be longer than expected…
“Lord Scratch.” Sabrina greeted him with a bow. His eyes narrowed at her in confusion, and she tilted her head the slightest bit towards a guard. Anyone else would have missed it, but he was so attuned to her facial expressions that he picked up on everything.
“Your majesty.” Nick returned the formal sentiment and had to bite his lip from laughing at her annoyance at it all. They were riding a fine line, nearly toppling over it completely with the fact they were practically alone together right now.
Neither cared much though, taking advantage of even just a moment of the other’s time, knowing each moment could be their last before Sabrina’s uncle shipped her off to marry. The craving they had for one another’s company ran deep, fed by a wellspring of childhood memories and new ones they were creating. No one quite matched the princess’s thirst for knowledge and justice like Nick. And no other person’s smile or kindness made Nick accept that he actually deserved that affection. They’d even go as far as say they loved each other, if only love was something either of them were privileged enough to indulge in.

chapter 1: it’s beginning to look a lot like christmas
Nicholas Scratch would never call himself a hopeless romantic, but after the death of his parents he’s longing to find a connection to them again. He heads to the inn where they supposedly first met, intent on seeing the place they had always deemed the most magical on earth.
When he literally collides into the inn’s new owner, Sabrina Spellman, sparks fly and Nick just might have found more than a handful of memories. Could it be that he’s found a place he might finally belong? Or will his past finally come back to bite him?
Just a little something after Sabrina leaves Riverdale
She could have easily teleported back to Greendale from the neighboring town of Riverdale. But the magic from her spell with Cheryl still crackled on her skin, sinking in deep to every part of herself. It made her feel more connected to the wooded earth and she wanted to fuel that connection with every step she took.
The words had fallen easily from her lips, similar ones had come from Ambrose and the Aunties. She remembered the invigorating breath she’d taken when she shot up, life restored, eyes darting to her side to make sure Nick had returned as well.
He rose a few seconds after her, and immediately wanted to be informed of how it was all possible. Nick, ever the avid learner, dove right into studies-after kissing his girlfriend’s warm and alive lips of course and thanking the ones who had saved him.
She smiled at the thought, grateful she’d been able to help Cheryl. Sabrina had been a little busy with Greendale’s messes to help in the past, but she could now.
Even in her twenties, the Mortuary still stood as it had her entire life. When she walked in the door her Aunt Hilda was buzzing around the kitchen, pausing only when Cee made her dance with him to an old tune from an old radio.
Zelda was in her study, nursing a glass of gin and a cigarette, no doubt having found even more ways to reform the Order of Hecate for the better. Vinegar Tom was lying regally on his dog bed, eager for belly rubs and pats from his witch.
Ambrose’s music from the attic was nearly shaking the house, and the faint smell of expensive perfume told Sabrina that Prudence was up there. She would not be venturing up to the top floor.
And Nicholas Scratch found his own home in the Mortuary. Sure he had an official room at the Academy, much larger now that he was a teacher rather than a student. But they weren’t fooling anyone into thinking he actually spent time there. He knew where his home was, and it was on a wrought ironed bed and in the arms of the witch who owned it.
She found him on the bed, attention drawn to a book and hand in his hair. It was messier than usual, which usually happened when he ran his hand through it too many times in frustration or she got her own fingers in there. Considering she’d been gone all day she figured it was the former and made her way into the room slowly so as not to spook him.
“You gonna say anything, Spellman?” He asked with a smirk, though he didn’t look up from his page. “Or you just gonna come in here all quiet and attempt to be sneaky.”
“I wasn’t being sneaky.” She rolled her eyes and plopped herself on the bed near him. She scrunched her face in mock of him when he looked up amusingly. “You looked all focused and in concentration mode and I didn’t want to scare you.”
“I knew you were here the second you stepped on the property.” Nick told her, closing the book and tossing it to the side like it didn’t matter.
“Ahhhh the locket.” Sabrina smirked and nodded. She reached over and pulled it from his shirt, playing with it. He chuckled in response and grabbed her hand, wanting her to hold his instead.
“Nah I could feel you before the locket did.” He kissed her fingers as her brow furrowed, silently asking him to elaborate. “I’ve always felt connected to you, I guess. But it grew stronger after the Sweet Hereafter. I can just sense you.” He reached over and brushed her cheek. Her hair was longer now and no longer snow-white, an effect of her resurrection. But she was still the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. “I can sense what you’re feeling. What you need. It’s how I knew everything worked out with Cheryl.” He gave her a lopsided smile. “Well that and that you’re you.”
Sabrina you thought about it for a moment and recognized the same stirrings in herself, far before the locket around her neck vibrated. It’s how she knew the times he was having a bad day and just needed her to hold him.
“It’s the same for me, Nick.” She ran a hand through his hair, messing it up more. “It’s like our souls are tethered together.”
“Forever and ever.” He narrowed his eyes at her and pulled her quickly to him, kissing her firmly. They could hardly manage it though because of how she was giggling, remembering how cheesy he could be. Their smiling kisses faded into softer and more delicate ones before they pulled apart, needing a moment to breathe.
“So it all went well then?” Nick asked her.
“Perfectly.” Sabrina gave a firm nod. “It was nice to do some magic to help someone, you know that didn’t involve some sacrifice to save the world.”
“I prefer it this way too.” Nick responded with a small chuckle.
“What about you, babe?” Sabrina grazed his jaw with her nails and he shuddered. “You looked somewhere else when I came in here.”
“Oh just another book your Aunt wants me to incorporate into my classes. Another book that uses a cipher so I don’t know what it says.”
“Yet.” Sabrina tapped his chin with a confident nod. She knew he’d figure it it, he always did. She knew what he might need then, a break, and decided he needed to take it with her. “How about a bath?”
His eyebrows raised at her suggestion.
“Only if you join me.” He said seriously, as if it was even a question.
“Well, duh.” She said with a snap as she grabbed his hand and dragged him off to their bathroom, bubbles already forming and steam rising. “Get in, Scratch. And then make room for me.”
Kiernan basically saying in that interview that sabrina is with nick always 🥺💕 it’s just so adorable and her reassuring that nabrina was definitely endgame and choosing nick to be the one that comes back with sabrina out of every caos character like it really proves that Sabrina loved nick the most, so happy we got this it makes me feel so 🥺
She really is the Nabrina Queen. She has spoken so it’s true. There’s no way Sabrina would leave Nick there. Also I 100% don’t blame her for wanting to show off her hot warlock bf to all of Riverdale
Kiernan Shipka and Sabrina Spellman have made their way to Riverdale– or technically, Rivervale. The actress played the beloved character in
Kiernan: And I mean, if Sabrina is back then Nick’s back, right? That’s sort of what, at least, my logic would tell me is that if Sabrina was brought back from the dead, that probably means that Nick is somewhere around as well. That’s obviously a dynamic that I think everyone is curious to hear more about and see more of. So I love all the characters but if I had to see one extra CAOS character in the Riverdale universe, I think it would be Nick Scratch.

Nick pretty much has it all–good looks, clever wit, charming, and is extremely powerful. He also happens to be the Dark Lord’s son and tasked with claiming Earth for Hell. The problem? He doesn’t want to, but it isn’t the easiest thing to defy the Dark Lord, even if you are his son.
chapter 15: bury a friend
Nick and Sabrina talk to another fallen angel, the aunts meddle, Prudence and Sabrina have a chat, and Blackwood tries for glory.
For a Christmas fic I'm attempting to do for Nabrina Winterfest. My plan is for it to be interweaving stories like in Love Actually or Let is Snow. But who knows. Here's a peek:
The scent of freshly baked cookies mixed with peppermint engulfed him as soon as they stepped through the door. He spotted the ladder a second too late, the door knocking into it and let go of Amalia’s leash as he moved forward to catch the young woman who was tumbling off.
“I’m so sorry,” Nick started as he set her down. It didn’t seem like she’d gotten hurt, but he couldn’t be sure just yet.
She waved him off, smoothing down her plaid skirt, and Nick was struck by the halo of her hair in the strands of lights that were weaved up the stairwell. “Not your fault. I knew I should have moved that thing back a couple of inches.”
“Are you okay?” he asked, watching as she leaned down to pick up the piece of garland that she’d been hanging up.
“Not even a little bruised thanks to you,” she assured, lips tugging into a smile.
“That’s what your perfectionism gets you,” the girl at the front desk situated a little further inside quipped. “That garland was perfectly fine where it was.”
“It was lopsided and you know it, Prudence.” She rolled her eyes before moving to get his luggage. “Welcome to the Overlook Inn. I can assure you that we’re usually not this accident prone.”
Prudence snorted at that and Nick couldn’t help but grin as the young woman in front of him glared before turning back to him. “You must be Nick and this is Amalia, right?” She looked over at the dog who was curiously watching the events transpire.
“You seem to know my name but I don’t know yours,” he pointed out, brow arching as he watched her lips twist in amusement. “I feel it's only fair after saving your life.”
“After you put it in danger,” Prudence murmured as she flipped to the next page in the magazine she was looking at, ignoring the glare directed her way.
“We only have one reservation with a dog currently so it was a logical guess, but I’m Sabrina.” S
