Beginning Investigations

Tonight my partner, KP, and I are going to try and make contact with the entity in our house. We’re not sure what to expect for this particular session, but we are going to set up a webcam and try recording to catch something.

For some reason we keep getting deterred from holding the seance…. weird.

The dogs just woke up and started barking at nothing again. They do it every night and I’m so tired from waking up every night.

I feel like I’ve been more moody lately. Im on edge.

My senior picture broke today. It fell right off the wall onto the floor and broke the frame. The dogs went crazy over it, though the cat didn’t seem too concerned.

We put up Yule decorations today. It was pretty peachy. Weird, but peachy.

Welcome To My Blog!

Welcome to Taphophilist, my paranormal diary, research archive, aesthetic, and appreciation blog. Before we get started, I want to get a few questions out of the way. 

What is your name?

   Andy Gray

How old are you?

   Freshly 22 as of September

What made you decide to create Taphophilist? 

   The Paranormal world has always been a huge part of my life. My father was a ghost hunter, as was my grandfather, so you can say it’s like a family tradition? I used to help out as a child by going with my dad and holding the camera, and it escalated to my father asking me to be a medium for seances. After a terrifying couple of experiences I opted out. 

   However, recently my partner and I have moved back to Virginia for a couple of months to help my mother move, and while staying at home we have had a number of very lowkey paranormal experiences. It started with just a sensation of another presence in the house, just an eerie feeling on the back of your neck. And then it was the dogs barking at all hours of the night, like they noticed something walking around, and staring at empty corners in the living room. Last night a picture was flung off the wall. 

   So I guess it’s time to stop opting out, and start tuning in. 

First Paranormal experience? 

   I would say my first experience happened when I was very very young. I used to suffer from night terrors, basically nightmares you can’t wake up from, and I remember one extremely vivid dream where a large figure was standing at the end of my bed, just looking at me. I couldn’t see his face, but i knew he was staring at me. I pulled the sheets over my head and closed my eyes until I passed out. 

   I didn’t recognize this as a Paranormal experience until the subject of night terrors was brought up many years later, and my brother pulled me aside and told me that he used to experience the exact same thing. 

Religion/ Spirituality? 

   I consider myself pagan, but I believe that all faiths as having merit. We all come from something, I just have a different name for it than others do.  

You know that Taphophilist isn’t a word, right? 

   Yes, Taphohile was taken. 

Can I submit things to you? 

   Absolutely! 

Can I message you? 

   Sure! I’m not the best when it comes to replying, but I always love to hear from people. 

What kind of stuff can we expect to see on here?

   I will be posting ghost stories, cryptid stories, freaky images, diary entries of my own personal experiences, videos, research, gifs, aesthetic posts, etc. 

Will you be using a tagging system? 

   Yes! Each category will have it’s own tag (ex. Ghost Stories) and I will always tag gifs and images with trigger warnings (ex. flashing, horror, gore, etc) as they apply. 

I will add things to this FAQ as they apply!
