I am definitely normal about The Bride I have not seen it three times in theaters nope.
I am NOT normal about The Bride (2026). (Been waiting for this movie to come out for 4 years now and I am NOT disappointed in the slightest)
The Bride Review:
• Weird Girl Cinema is SO BACK
• Christian Bale Autistic crashout old hollywood loving Male Wife Frankenstein I love you forever and ever
“THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. SOS. FIYAH. FUCK!” Is my new Vocal Stim
• Jessie Buckley AuDHD Screaming Harpey-woman Bride! i love you forever and ever
• Jessie Buckley “I am The Second Coming of Mary Shelly” ass Ida I love you forever and ever
• Jessie Buckley “I am Dead and I have something to SAY” ass Mary Shelly
• I fucking loved the triple personality so much. In Christian Biblical lore, it really reminds me of the Godhead.
The Godhead is the concept that God created the Universe, and By extension Became Part of that Universe as Jesus, and by a Supernatural, Cosmic sense the Spirit of that God lives within/alongside All living people… kind of like the Mary becoming Ida becoming the Bride thing.
• This movie had a lot of Commentary on Consent that comes with the territory of an Adaptation of ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’, and I appreciated it.
• The Meta References to the Universal Monsters movies, and Film in General, were too numerous to name them all but they were all INCREDIBLY FUN
The two that stuck out to me are the way the Theater Screen was showing Frankie and Ida in the films sometimes and Sometimes it wasn’t.
And the ‘Puttin on the Ritz’ Moment from Young Frankenstein.
This is how that went:
Me *hearing the music*: OH MH GOD- IF YOU’RE BLUE AND YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE TO GO TO WHY DON’T YOU GO WHERE FASHION SITS?? PUTTIN ON THE RITZ!

Me: YES! EXACTLY, FRANKIE!
• I like how they established that she didn’t want to have sex, but then when they got to know each other and she did, he respected her enough to want to wait AGAIN until the next time, sort of as a ‘just to be sure you still want to later, and not just now in the moment’ principle.
• All in All, an incredible film, and one I’ll definitely be adding to my main ‘Not Universal Monsters but Pretty Much Universal Monsters Movies’ list alongside Lisa Frankenstein and Renfield!
My opinion?
NEVER was there a tale SO FINE, as that of THE BRIDE! And her Frankenstein!
I've never in my life found Christian Bale attractive until approximately 5 hours ago when I saw him as Frankenstein and he was stapled together and had massive scars and a twisted broken looking nose and i'm not sure what that says about me, like in one scene he had this massive row of staples suturing his spine together and I was like 😝
HE HAS ANXIETY ATTACKS SO BAD HE WILL DIE IF HE DOES NOT SEE A BLACK AND WHITE MOVIE RIGHT NOW
