Bring your subconscious mind to the surface, and do not fear your truth.
Even more true now than when I first said this.

Spotted this mural by #jamesdelavega (street muralist, artist) in Harlem of the christ crucifixion. This is the center of the mural..Picasso’s “Guernica” is the motivation behind this piece, (says the cat inside the store its’s painted on..with further research of Picasso's "guernica" painting, I can definitely see the similarities and inspiration)
These (3) images were photographed by my 5 year old nephew Braelyn. Like most kids of this era, he’s fascinated with technology, games, and taking photo’s. I’ve been photographing him since he was an infant with my DSLR, and at around 2 years old I handed him the camera so that he could take photo’s around the house. Most of the photo’s then were of nothing, he would just hold the shutter button down because he liked the sound it made. From watching me with the camera he began to mock the motion of putting the camera to his face and looking through the view finder. Naturally most of the images were blurred and out of focus, but every time I seen him he wanted to take pictures of everyone, and at 5 years old he knows how to use the auto focus, and have developed the muscle strength to hold the camera still until he gets the image. When he was taking these photo’s I was telling him how to go from the view finder to the LCD monitor (which he prefers) then he snapped the first two, and on the final one told me to make a funny face and pose.
I dropped a black and white filter on these and added a little digital grain. Needless to say, I see photography in his future, and will probably hand one of my dslr’s down to him for his six birthday or some shit. I’ll be posting the other photo’s he took of everyone in the house soon. His perspective and point of view is dope for a 5 year old, and he still has so much to learn technically, but for now it’s all about having fun and capturing moments.
He’s talented, smart, and creative. And every chance I get, I’m going to celebrate him and help cultivate his gifts!
Trump is all like, “hail Hitler!” and Sanders is like, “Power to the People.” #wallstreetjournal #symbolism #berniesanders #donaldtrump
Today’s Wall street journal front page is extremely symbolic and suggestive. A few things I noticed at first look was the candidates position on the cover. For one, Donald Trump’s image towers over Bernie Sanders image. It’s strategically place above Bernie Sanders, a jewish man, while Donald Trump is soluting as if he’s a German Nazi soldier, pledging allegiance to Adolf Hitler or better yet, white supremacy. I find this imagery peculiar. I can’t imagine why the Wall street journal and their editors would allow for such a display of bigotry. Why in all the imagery they had access to, would they subliminally place on its cover, a reminder of the holocaust, an allegiance to white supremacy, and the death’s of millions of people, in mocking fashion, on its cover? It just goes to show you that not only the media, but the powers that be are very much still a racist and heavily oil white supremacy machine! And in no way should we support this establishment at all, for this display. As an African American, I can relate to the struggles of an oppressed class, and the psychological torment we experience daily as a result of racism. Any reminders of such, especially those on the cover of one of America’s most popular newspapers, is a trigger and down right distasteful, disrespectful, and culturally insensitive, to say the least. -TAP PEOPLES (2-10-2016)

We envied and admired the birds at the same time, the moment we seen them high We flap our arms yet we can’t fly We tilt our heads to plead with the sky It said, “you won’t know freedom til you’ve seen god."
