THE HANDYGLOVES THEORY (TYPE ANATOMY) AND TYPE CLASSIFICATION
BRIEF- So we got this assignment in which we have to make an understandable creatively influenced material where we take the handyglove exercise which helps the easy understanding of type anatomy. The anatomy of type refers to the various components that make up a letterform. Understanding these components is essential for designers and typographers as it allows them to manipulate and customize fonts to achieve specific visual effects. By understanding these elements, designers can manipulate fonts to achieve specific effects, such as adjusting the spacing between letters, changing the weight of the font, or altering the overall appearance. This knowledge is crucial for creating visually appealing and legible typography.
With this, we were also told to make an understanding piece about type classification and as my understanding goes type classification refers to the system of categorizing fonts based on their visual characteristics. All the key points that should be there are present in this video that I present.
In this, we were given a word and we had to turn it into an expressive typography. As I took the word music, here is my work, as music is the only thing in my life that is so expressive to me I turned it into a picture of mine.
In this, we were told to make a magazine spread for the expressive typo we got. I made a simple layout of a magazine on topic music which I was assigned
REDESIGNING THE ZARA LABEL
So I got this assignment to redesign any brand label but I was asked,to redesign the label while maintaining the brand's existing perception and identity. My choice was Zara
Brand Identity:
Fast fashion: Quick turnaround times and trendy designs.
Affordability: Accessible prices for fashion-forward items.
Global appeal: A brand that resonates with a diverse international audience.
Modern and minimalist aesthetic: Clean lines, neutral colors, and a focus on contemporary trends.
Design Considerations:
Maintain brand perception: The redesigned label should not alter how consumers perceive Zara.
Reflect brand identity: The label should resonate with Zara's core values and aesthetic.
Minimalist design: The label should be clean, uncluttered, and visually appealing.
Clear information: The label should provide essential information like size, care instructions, and material composition.
Sustainability: If Zara has made strides in sustainability, consider incorporating elements that highlight their eco-friendly initiatives.
Design Elements:
Typography: Choose fonts that are sleek, contemporary, and easy to read.
Color palette: Stick to Zara's signature neutral colors or incorporate subtle pops of color.
Layout: Create a clean and balanced layout that effectively showcases the brand's logo, information, and any additional design elements.
Visual elements: Consider using geometric patterns, subtle textures, or other elements that complement Zara's aesthetic.
