A traditional painting work in progress! It’s been a long time since I worked in acrylic or anything but watercolor and I’m rather pleased so far.

One of the coolest parts about being a fan of fanfic is you can actually contact the author. And they will respond. And then you can message them nonstop until they allow you into their lives and then you’re becoming their beta reader and suddenly you know multiple authors of all types of fiction books and fanfic authors who will drag out their deleted fics for you to read at a moments notice.

Anyway. Comment on fics and message authors. It’s absolutely worth it.

I have become dearest bosom buddies with MxSinshine. We went to each other’s weddings and made toasts, we make an effort to travel 1/2 way across the country to see each other (and our wives) at least 3x a year. And all because I made a few comments.

God yes. So much. It was worse on Twitter but I was accused of being a predator just because of my age and the perceived age of the fandom. I rarely made personal friends in the fandom, particularly those under 30 and it was never sexual.

I also got accused of whitewashing characters, which is a pretty wild accusation if you look at my art.

And finally, I got accused of racism because I put a POC in bondage gear. The idea is that was that no person of color should be tied up and submitting to a white woman.
