Having that much human energy thrust at you and then being critically analysed is obviously disarming. Control issues make me so nervous. Itâs not knowing whatâs going to happen. So what people were seeing was what happens when you are terrified. My palms sweat, my knees shake, I donât think I can stand in my heels, Iâm breathing heavily, I feel nauseous. Iâll be so nervous and then my body creates something to calm me down and I get so tired Iâll just⌠Kristen Stewart photographed by Alexi Lubormirski for Harperâs Bazaar UK, June 2015.

I am so sick of boy positivity posts. Men can be marginalized at other intersections (and may want/need to be reaffirmed at those intersections), but men as a class do not need âpositivityâ; society already provides them all the power and affirmation they could ever need.
Thereâs no need to say âboys are cute and unstoppableâ because nothing materially contradicts that on a structural level. Those kinds of messages have already been internalized because they are supported on every level. âBoy positivityâ was not borne out of the need to be reaffirmed as a societally disadvantaged population; it was borne out of a selfish, knee-jerk, âwhy donât we have that?!â reaction to the positivity among and for women.
so much this. I support positivity and resources for men of colour, disabled men, homeless men, male survivors, etc. but I rarely see any. Too often these posts have a âdonât let the big bad feminists get to you, have a cookieâ subtext (srsly most of the people who make these posts are anti-feminists, read the urls)
