So sorry for the wait. It’s been a tough few months writing wise. If you follow the anon buddie tumblr, you’ll see I’ve started up writing again over there, so I’ve got some of my mojo back. :)
Insecurities
Objectively, Carlos knew he looked good. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have men and women alike flock him when he was on calls. Sure, he has a little fat here and there, but he’s mostly muscles...
His face is...alright. Again, objectively hot. He loves his eyes, but sometimes he thinks his nose is too big for his face, his lips maybe a little too small. So, sometimes Carlos doesn’t want to look at himself in the mirror. Usually, he can manage to avoid it with his practiced hair routine and shaving...he doesn’t have to...
But TK loves to look at him. He’ll sit on the edge of the tub and watch him get ready for work. TK’s eyes will scan his body as he dresses, his bottom lip always tucked behind his teeth as he smiles, unabashedly. TK loves to run his hands over Carlos’s body. He loves to trace all the ridges and dig his hands into the softer parts of his body.
TK loves to pepper his face with kisses, as if he knows Carlos doesn’t like some of his features...TK always just seems to know. So, maybe, just maybe, TK figured it out.
Carlos didn’t necessarily take compliments of his body well. Maybe that had tipped TK off. The thrown “damn, look at that, Hot Stuff” and the “my handsome lover” comments were always met with little scoffs and immediate turn arounds to TK’s own appearance.
So maybe TK knew.
Slowly, it turned into less of menial compliments and more into declarations. Each kiss that TK laid had a meaning. It said, ‘I love you’, ‘I see you’, ‘you’re perfect’. He placed them everywhere Carlos felt insecure. He pressed them into his body and didn’t let them leave.
When they made love, TK would quietly pour those thoughts into Carlos’s body. Gentle thrusts, open mouthed kisses, and whispered declarations all complimenting Carlos and trying to make him believe what TK saw when he looked at Carlos.
And, maybe, just maybe, Carlos started to believe TK’s declarations.

TK was nervous. He’d gotten in trouble for doing this before. Alex hadn’t liked how he clinged on him. He hadn’t liked how he always wanted to be surrounded by his boyfriend...so TK hoped Carlos wouldn’t notice.
When Carlos was out of the house, TK hurried along with his plan. He quickly opened the dresser, searching through stacks of hoodies. He needed a hoodie that would be inconspicuous. Something that smelled like Carlos but that Carlos wouldn’t miss easily.
Landing on a pale yellow hoodie, TK paused. He brought the hoodie out and to his nose. The thrumming under his skin lessened as he took a few moments to breathe in Carlos’s scent. It was so calming.
TK took another deep breath, letting out a soft sigh. Carlos wouldn’t notice. It looks enough like his yellow hoodie that Carlos probably wouldn’t notice and TK would be safe to borrow this hoodie in order to keep his clinginess at bay. It was the perfect plan.

The next day TK had off, he wanted nothing more than to spend it with Carlos. Sadly, Carlos would be gone half the day...but that didn’t stop TK from going over to his place anyway.
His duffle was placed neatly by the door, along with his shoes. TK made quick work of his clothes, putting them neatly in the laundry bin. He was quick to shower, not bothering using his own shampoo, conditioner, and soap. He wanted nothing more than to be with Carlos...so he decided that the next best thing was to smell somewhat like him.
He didn’t mean that in a creepy way...it’s just he hasn’t seen his boyfriend in person for three days and he misses him. Wrapped in a towel, TK picks through the dresser in Carlos’s room. Currently, TK has two drawers...but he tries not to use them/fill them...he doesn’t want Carlos to think he’s trying to take over the place...he wanted this to work out, after all.
After pulling on a pair of boxers, TK hesitated at selecting his pants. He already knew that he would be wearing the hoodie that he borrowed from Carlos...but he honestly didn’t want to put his own clothes on...that would defeat the purpose of trying to smell like Carlos.
Biting his lip, TK ran a hand over a pair of dark sweats. They were well worn, unless you looked closely, you wouldn’t notice the faded APD down the side. Shrugging to himself, he quickly put them on, pulling the drawstring tight against him so that he didn’t give himself away. He would look like he was swimming in them, had he not.
TK ran his tongue over his lips as he looked at his reflection. It sent a rush of calm through his system as the comforting smell of his boyfriend reached his nose.
...He just hoped Carlos wouldn’t notice.

TK was having a bad day. He just wanted to curl up with Carlos and let the other man take his troubles and wash them away.
As soon as Carlos made it through the door, TK was on him. He didn’t care if he came off as clingy, he needed Carlos. “Baby, what’s wrong,” he asked quietly, immediately wrapping his arms around TK.
TK didn’t answer, only buried himself further into Carlos’s chest, taking deep breaths to get as much of Carlos’s homey scent into his body. All day TK had wanted a fix...being in Carlos’s arms like this? It made him feel ten times better...he didn’t feel like he needed to go out and get a score or get drunk off his ass. Being with Carlos felt like being home...and that should have scared him more than it did.
Carlos pressed a few kisses to his forehead, lifting TK like it was nothing. He carried TK to the bedroom, lightly placing him on the bed. TK let out a whine when Carlos moved to step away from him, “I just need to get out of my uniform, Baby...I’ll come right back.”
TK fidgeted with his fingers while Carlos changed. His anxiety rose the longer Carlos was out of his grasp. In Carlos’s defense, he was quick about his change, not bothering to take off his undershirt, nor to put sweats over his boxer. Soon enough, his arms encircled TK once more, moving them to a comfortable position on the bed. “You don’t have to talk about it...but I’m here for you.”

TK had a long shift. What happened exactly was that it was the shift from hell. Every other call the crew went on was a disaster that had no light at the end of it. A grand total of sixteen kids...that’s how many they lost.
TK trudged into Carlos’s condo. He didn’t acknowledge the man sitting on the couch, just letting his duffle hit the ground. He stood there for a moment, debating on getting a shower while he was still awake enough or going to curl into his boyfriend’s lap.
TK made his decision when Carlos muted the TV he had been watching. TK turned towards Carlos, trying for a small smile, but he knew it was far from a convincing smile. He didn’t talk, just eased himself down onto Carlos’s lap, burying his head in the man’s chest.
Carlos wasted no time in wrapping his arms securely around TK. He placed multiple kisses on the man’s forehead, murmuring reassurances to the man. He hadn’t had a shift, but he’d been updated throughout the day by their friends about the calls they went on. With TK’s new job as a Paramedic, he’d had more hands on experience with the losses the team suffered earlier. Carlos didn’t mind being used as comfort after a shift from hell...that was what he was here for.

He could remember how Carlos had made him feel like he was the only person in the world that mattered. Hell, he remembered cuddling in close and letting Carlos’s heartbeat lull him to sleep...he even remembered the sleepy ‘I love you’ that had been whispered into his hair. But for the life of him, he couldn’t remember what had put him in this mood.
Maybe it was the fact that he’d had to leave Carlos in the bed that morning. Carlos wouldn’t go to work until a couple of hours after TK did. But that still didn’t explain the deep rooted sadness that TK felt as he sat in the firehouse waiting on the next call out. Had he missed something? Did he forget to do a chore before he left? Did he forget to write down the grocery list? Did he forget to turn a light off?
It took him nearly two hours to realize what it was...and to be honest, he felt a little stupid about it.
Carlos had been passed out from their activities the previous night. Other than waking up briefly when TK had been getting out of bed, Carlos had slept right through TK getting ready for work and leaving. This meant that TK had not received his ‘be safe, I love you’ kiss before leaving for shift. It meant that he hadn’t gotten his ‘good morning’ kiss. It meant he hadn’t gotten his ‘it’s time to get up, shut your alarm off’ kiss. I meant that he hadn’t gotten his forehead kiss or a kiss to his hand...it meant he was deprived of his boyfriend’s affections.
This simply would not do.
Like clockwork, Carlos walked into the station carrying a bag of pastries and a Boba Tea for his boyfriend. He smiled as he walked into the kitchen where he knew TK would be. The smile faltered slightly as he was met with a pouting TK. “Everything alright, Babe?”
TK’s frown deepened as he looked at Carlos, “you forgot,” he muttered, eyes turning even sadder.
Carlos wracked his brain for what he could have possibly forgotten. It was Tuesday, April 15th. No special occasion. He ordered the same Boba he always did. They were out of his usual cream pastry, so Carlos got the Almond Butter instead, knowing his boyfriend wouldn’t be too miffed at the change. TK hadn’t left anything at home, or Carlos would have brought it with him...there were no birthdays...he was drawing a blank. He cleared his throat, “forgot?”
TK slumped even further, looking away from Carlos. He approached the man, taking his Boba and the pastries. Carlos leaned forward, prepared for the cheek kiss TK always gives him, but frowns slightly as TK just turns completely from him and walks away.
“Um...are you mad at me?”
Tk shook his head, “no.”
“Then you’re just not planning to give me any affection today?”
“You started it,” TK mumbled.
Carlos’s eyebrows raised. “What do you mean?”
TK bit his lip, sighing loudly. “You just...you weren’t awake...you didn’t wake me with a-a kiss or-or any forehead kisses. You didn’t-you didn’t give me my ‘stay safe’ or ‘I love you’ kiss this morning. And I understand...you were tired but…”
A smile made its way to Carlos’s face. He walked closer to TK, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend’s waist. “So the kicked puppy look is because you missed my kisses this morning?”
TK’s pout deepened even more at the playful tone of Carlos’s voice. “It’s not funny.”
Carlos brushed a kiss along TK’s cheek, “I know, Baby. I’m sorry I forgot our morning kisses...I promise to try and keep from making that mistake again. Do you forgive me?”
TK tried to keep a smile off of his face as Carlos peppered his face with quick pecks. “Just don’t let it happen again.”

TK wasn’t as smooth as he thought. Carlos immediately noticed the change in his wardrobe. Carlos didn’t mind, he quite liked seeing his boyfriend in his clothes. TK wasn’t small by any account, but Carlos was broader, taller...this made for the most adorable sight Carlos had ever seen.
TK had to roll Carlos’s sweats up in order to walk in them. He always looked so cozy in Carlos’s hoodies. Slowly, TK had started to smell more like Carlos’s shampoo and soap instead of his own (and that made pride swell in his chest, but he wasn’t going to analyze that deeply).
The truth of the matter is, if TK was seeking out comfort by wearing Carlos’s clothes and using his shampoo...Carlos wasn’t going to complain. If TK was going to cling to him day and night? Carlos wasn’t going to complain. I loved having his boyfriend in his arms. He loved seeing TK in his clothes...and he loved coming home to him more often than not.
“Move in with me,” Carlos whispered as he traced imaginary shapes on TK’s back while they were lying in bed.
TK tensed slightly, moving to look at Carlos. “What?”
Carlos shifted slightly to look into TK’s eyes. “Move in with me. You’re here more than at your dad’s place. You’ve taken over half of my dresser and closet. Half the things in the fridge and kitchen are for you specifically...I enjoy coming home to you. So move in with me.”
TK stared at Carlos for a long moment, “I-I’m clingy. I steal your clothes and-and I don’t want to be away from you when I’m here. When we’re in public, I can’t stop touching you for long periods of time...I have to constantly hold your hand or be wrapped up in your arms...I’m a lot to handle.”
Carlos gripped TK’s face, making sure the man met his eyes. “No you’re not. I enjoy seeing you in my clothes, it makes me feel special knowing you draw comfort from wearing my things. I love that you have started taking over space in my place...it feels more like a home with you in it. I look forward to coming home because I’m not walking in to an empty condo...I’m coming home to be with you. I agree that you’re clingy...but that makes me love you even more. I love that you seek comfort in me. Hell, I’m just as clingy. I never want to take my hands off of you. TK, I’m in love with you and I want you here full time.”
TK licked his lips slowly, “you mean that?”

The reason I believe buddie is happening is the way certain scenes are set up, or how they transition to the next scene, the foreshadowing the future of Buddie and some of the music choices. So here it is.
1. Maddie: “Are we the only people we know who don’t have kids?”
Chimney and Maddie: *bothe laugh & say* “Buck”
The next scene is Eddie waking Buck up and Chris is there too
-Chris is like Bucks child
2. T.K. “I already have a boyfriend, it’s pretty serious”/ Tk thinks Buck is asking him out
Eddie comes around the corner/ literally anyone could have came around the corner, but it was Eddie and it wasn’t for no reason
-Eddie will be Bucks boyfriend
3. “🎶wait for me to come home🎶”
Chris and Eddie knock on Bucks door
-Buck is at home when he’s with them
4.The hug in 3x01 Eddie is literally pushed to Buck to hug him and the song playing? “Come and Get Your Love.”
I don’t think this one needs an explanation
-EDDIE IS LITERALLY GOING TO GET HIS LOVE
5. Bobby: “She just wasn’t the right fit you’ll find someone new”
The next person they show EDDIE
-Eddie is the right fit, the right person
6. Eddies introduction is literally him slow mo putting a shirt on and Buck turns around as Whatta Man plays.
That is Bucks POV
7. Buck: “I’d still take you.”
Eddie: “you think so?”
Buck: “I know”
-there was no heterosexual explanation for ANY OF THAT. There was so much sexual tension.
Buck grabs his belt drawing attention to his dick walking towards Eddie, who is drawing attention to his mouth with his beer bottle
8. “This is Eddies House I’m not really a guest”
-we know Buck feels obligated going to other peoples houses like Bobby and Athena’s that you bring a drink or food, but at Eddies he thought it was such an insane concept
