Still Haven't Written Anything, but I keep drawing and I keep getting prouder of improving.
Unfortunately, no lore updates or potential first chapter release... but here's a kinda summary sorta thing!
Basically, Prince Ballister was adopted by Queen Valerin because the Director wouldn't allow him to join the Institution. Instead of heading down that path on training anyway, he instead decides to focus on helping the Danks. This is where the relation to Hazbin Hotel comes in, he brings strangers into his home to give them somewhere to stay. His goal is to help people from the Danks and move them into the Noble Kingdom (and eventually fix up that part of the city, the tech is outdated and streets are dirty and all that)
He foolishly believes the citizens of the 'Noble Kingdom' (names taken straight from the Art Of Nimona) are scared of people who live in the Danks because of the casual crimes, not understanding why they happen so regularly. Unbeknown to Ballister, this of course is not the case. It's more 'we "protect them", but they're poor so we look down on them'.
Like canon, the citizens of the Kingdom (even some from the Danks) doubt Ballister could be a good king.
Ballister having his moments of naivety, like Charlie, is part of his character development. Keep in mind he's been living in the castle since he was a young child. The brain often hides traumatic experiences to protect a person, which adds to this.
