🌱Ostara Tarot Spread (For Spring Growth)
After wanting to do a tarot spread for Ostara but not being able to find exactly what I wanted, I decided to make my own! Feel free to use if you like it.
I’ll include the information below for anyone who can’t see the images:
What do I need to nurture in my spiritual life?
What do I need to nurture in my mundane life?
What in my life has begun to grow all on its own?
What needs to be cleared out so I can continue to grow?
How is my environment affecting my growth?
3 Tips for Trusting in Your Cards
The main basis (in my experience) of useful, clear divination is trust. And just like people, you can’t just pick up a deck of cards and expect to fully trust the deck, or for it to trust you. When I picked up a deck of cards for the VERY first time, I made a lot of mistakes. I’ve come a long way since then, and though I may still be a bit of a novice, I hope I can help some one.
Draw Cards of the Day! Especially if you have a brand new deck, or one you haven’t worked with in a very long time. Not only does it open the door for interaction in a very simple, open-ended way, but by doing so you can get a better grip on what the cards mean and your own interpretations of them.
Get comfortable! Clear a space where you can feel safe and unhindered. This could include a separate room, or your kitchen table. Wherever you plan on card reading, I suggest a flat, completely soild surface covered by a cloth unique to your card readings (though it’s completely up to you if you’d like to work without it!) Sit however you’d like- on the floor, on a footstool. Sit up straight, sit cross-legged. Make the room dark or as light as you’d like, etc. The more you relax with and around your cards, the better they can receive your energy, and the more in tune you’ll be! And if standing on your head with one shoe on and Enya playing works for you, then so be it!
DO NOT REDRAW The BIGGEST mistake I’ve ever made, was not believing my cards were telling me the truth. I would redraw to see if I got the same cards again, or if the answer I received seemed unlikely I would disregard it altogether. Believe. In. Your. Cards! If something seems unlikely, trust in in- but with a grain of salt. Never ever EVER redo your draw- you will just to be disappointed when you don’t draw the same card(s)! This creates a barrier and disconnection- just like with a person. If you accuse all your friends of being liars, or need to check and recheck their answers constantly- you won’t have many left! Of course, if you feel the cards’ message was muddy or unclear redrawing for clarification is a-okay. But don’t redraw just to test them!

The Sun Moon Star Tarot Spread is both simple and powerful. It reveals the identity one is attempting to project publicly and hidden natures dwelling within them. Should there be a conflict in this dynamic, a path to resolution is also offered in the spread.
Sun. The sociable self—the outward personality. What the individual naturally radiates to others around them. May also be what image they are intentionally fabricating.
Moon. The hidden self—the inward personality. What the individual is unaware of regarding their deeper, emotional self. If known to the individual, it may be what they’re trying to hide from others.
Star. Path of guidance—how the individual can improve. This card indicates a path forward. If the dynamic is bleak, this is what this individual would need to rectify a poor situation.
A very basic tarot spread that overview many areas in ones life.

Potter’s Stepping Forward Spread
I developed this spread to do a reading for one of my followers, and I liked it enough to write it up. I’ve done it several times since then for in person readings, and usually works well. You can pull clarifying cards for any position if you want to layer on some additional information.
Spread Positions
Where you are now: Where you stand now as you start this new thing.
Where you want to be: Your end goal, what you want to accomplish.
The path from Here to There: How you move forward, the steps you take, what you may have to deal with. You can pull additional cards for this position; I usually end up pulling two.
Something you need to see: Something to be aware of as you move forward, a conflict, challenge, or encouragement.
Advice - Your first step: Pull this card from the top of the deck. The first thing you can do that would be helpful, get you going. You may already know what this is.
Advice - Something you’re scared of: Pull this card from the bottom of the deck. The thing in the back of your head that you know will be helpful, but is kind of scary. Something to face and possibly accept.
Spread Notes
I set it up so that the cards move from the bottom left of the spread to the top right, which represents forward movement to me. The final advice card is based on the idea of shadow cards, or the card you pull from the bottom of a deck during a reading. It’s all about illuminating that Thing or Thought niggling in the back of your brain as you contemplate this new path.
Let me know what you think or if you have any questions. I’d love to see how other folks read using this spread. If you do, be sure to tag #coffeeandtarot or #stepping forward spread!
How Far I’ll Go Spread
Inspired by the song ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from Disney’s Moana
This is one of my favorite, if not most favorite, Disney movies. In particular, this song struck a chord in me. I can relate to the feeling of being called to something, but unable to find the confidence to set sail toward that calling.
For Moana, it was the Sea that called her - that beckoned her to greatness like her ancestors. For me, it is becoming a pharmacist. Years ago I tried to prepare myself for pharmacy school, but could never truly take the plunge… and ever since I have been coming back to it, over and over… And now’s my time. The wind is in my sail and I’m headed off to see how far I’ll go.
I made a spread to help me pinpoint some of the feelings I have over the matter, and thought I’d share it with you all. It’s developed to help you take a good look at what’s holding you back from letting yourself follow your calling, and how it will be once you accept that calling in earnest. Hopefully it will be insightful and enlightening for you as it has been for me!
1. The Road That Leads Back
What keeps pulling me back? What do I need to realize about this that makes it integral to my path?
2. I’ll be Satisfied If I Play Along
What it will be like if I don’t go after my calling. Will I be satisfied?
3. What Is Wrong With Me?!
Why can’t I just move on? Why can I not make a decision to go through with it or be satisfied with where I am?
4. So Come Find me!
How to give in and let my calling engulf me.
5. The Wind In My Sail
A message from the Universe, hope and endurance to fill my sails and carry me forward!
6. The Line Where The Sky Meets The Sea
The true heart of my calling and why it’s so alluring to me… What makes this path worth braving the treacherous waves?
7. How Far I’ll Go
A glimpse of what will happen once I set sail toward my calling and how I will be changed throughout the process.

Final Outcome
Designed to help you investigate deep emotional struggles and learn why you feel the way that you do. 1. The Issue This card represents the topic of the reading. It can represent the individual the reading is for, or the specific problem you are trying to understand. 2. The Struggle This card represents the thing that is your most immediate obstacle.
The center six cards examine the things within you that impact card one. We could say that we’re looking at your hopes and fears, the factors that determine how you feel about your situation. The row is chronological from left to right, with present day in the middle.
Top Row. External The upper row is representative of lighter aspects of the psyche. This is the face you show others, and what you are consciously, externally aware of. Bottom Row. Internal The bottom row is the shadow aspect, your hidden fears, the feelings you wont acknowledge to yourself.
Bottom of Cut. Outcome I use the bottom card on the deck or the bottom card of the cut, depending how I deal, as the destination or outcome card. This tells us how you can expect things to “shake out”, if you continue the current course. You can see the spread in action here using the Klimt Tarot deck.

Not that long ago I purchased a tarot book that finally gave me the confidence to start making my own spreads and WALLA! My first ever spread! I got the inspiration from a few other’s that I have seen wandering around, but I really wanted on that was more unique to my own situation. I would also love to hear feedback, so please let me know how it worked for you! :)
