Time to get it out there | Roleplayers Wanted

I’ve been roleplaying for about two years now, I think. Not that I do it consistently. Activity’s almost always too low for my liking but Alas, school does that to ya.

Anywho, this semester is nearing an end. Which means I actually get to have a little fun around here.

This is a shoutout for all roleplayers. I usually do Multi-para, Para, Novella, Epic, Fantasy, Action, Apocalyptic, and so on. I’m an OC kind of player so I apparently create my own cannon.

Let’s meet up in our imaginary worlds. Let’s roleplay.

Dead Friends

Having ‘friends’ from various social networking sites including RPG’s where you get to not have to be your real self is not really something to brag about. But there are times when you reopen these accounts, say after finally achieving a summer break from a 10 month survival test in college, when you realize you haven’t heard from these people for almost a whole year. It’s like going to summer camp and only ever getting to reunite with summer pals after a school year. But maybe worse with online friends, ‘cause in social networking sites, I’ve inquired the problem of ‘maybe’ having dead friends.

I have nothing against dead people. Really, what is the point of hating a person already six feet under? But I do sometimes wonder if the people I’ve dealt with last summer are still among the living. I’m not hoping they’re dead. Merely curios if they’re hearts were still beating. After all, I’ve usually spent my whole two month summer with them, they’re important people. I just don’t really know how you’d check up on them and just ask ‘Uhm, you alive there mate?’. More often than not, I remember that my summer friends usually greet with the almighty ‘F*ck man you’re ALIVE!!”, after already seeing that you guys are both active again. But how to check with the ones who won’t go online anymore, I just don’t know.

So that is my current dilemma. As of today, when I’m finally trying to resurrect my long gone accounts, I will be reunited with my surviving online friends. And if they were not so lucky as to remain with us in the world wide web, well, I pay due respect to them, my brothers in the no wifi zone, or those who just grew out of it ( which hopefully isn’t contagious ‘cause I’m never leaving this place, on my own will), or those who forgot their Steam password, or those who found something better to do for the summer( Kudos, guys)or those who just finally found a life to live. But for those who kicked me outta their teams for no good reason: Well f*ck y’all. You’re all dead to me anyways.

The Art of Moving On

It was taking all of my willpower, all the strength in my pathetic body, all the courage I can muster, to swallow up pride and a couple of other things I feared, to admit one thing. People moved on. I used to think that it was pathetic and weak and disgusting when people couldn’t move on. When they wallow into a blubbering mess, crying over the spilled milk they’ve lost. I used to laugh at those people. It was ridiculous. Not so much now when I find myself in that predicament. I hated, loathed, despised and just despaired over the fact that people had the ability to move on. I wish I was a better person. One who could wave someone goodbye and even wish them good luck when they were moving on from you. But no. I don’t want them to move on. And it was an undeniably selfish, impotent, absurd wish. I didn’t want them to move on. Because I didn’t want me to move on. I didn’t want us to move on because I didn’t want anyone of us to forget. I didn’t want anyone to find better friends or live better lives. I didn’t want anyone to leave or for anyone to be left behind. But that was a sick selfish wish. Not like anyone was ever going to grant it. I guess I just wanted to let you know. That I do wish that. Even if I do not really expect it to happen. So I guess this is that part when I should wave goodbye anyways. But I really do mean it when I wish you luck. I wish you be happy. ;) Because you’re human and you unfortunately have the ability to move on, I guess it’s about time that I also claim my humanity. Only then will I learn, the art of moving on.

Weighing the Music and Lyrics

The thought had recently crossed my mind that I would really like to deal with people who had the same tastes in music as I did. While I wasn’t the easiest person to love, I was quite sure that I kept my musical preferences open. I could enjoy anything from Classics like Bach to metal and nightcore. From legends like the Beatles to something more recent like Bruno Mars. It wouldn’t be too hard to find a shared favorite along the way if I were dealing with the average person. But there’s a hell lot of difference when you mention your favorite band quietly thinking the other has never heard of them, only to have them screaming how much your new friend loved them too. Ah, the sound of familiarity. Sharing the same taste in music meant benefiting more than just the usual conversation starters. There must be a good reason you both liked a certain band or artist. Chances are you like the same music because you were both facing some things that were quite similar. Music has always been some way of expression, right? Anyways, enough with the chitchat. I was just wishing that. It would be awesome to find someone who would be my musical soul mate. Except I was kind of proven wrong when I experienced it firsthand. The PROS of meting le musical soul mate: *Like I said, great for conversation starters. I know I can go on and on and ON about my favorite band. God knows I can’t stop squealing if somebody brought them up. *You were probably facing the same things. Already said this. You know, facing the same kind of battles blah blah blah. Maybe some deep conversation can lead into deep friendship, who knows… *You can share music. Lend CD’s, swap mp3’s, I don’t know but you can be each other’s music advisor, recommending a new band, maybe a new song, the list goes on. But there are also The CONS: Here is what I have suffered so far. *This might be all you talk about. Oh you know they’re having a concert here? And that new song? Yeah, the concept of the conversation may never move in from the music. You’re friend has nothing to say other than all the this and that of the taste in music you share. *The person can use it against you. If you don’t end up in happily dumbf*ck ever after you will end up being the god awful subject of your favorite song. How f*cking great is that? Not only will you end up hating you’re friend for ruining the song but you might end up hating the music in itself. Really really sad, I tell you. Now every time it plays on the radio you get that bitter taste in your mouth for remembering. And there we have it. I just wanted to share that certain up and down out of the other multiple ups and downs I have had to deal. Musical taste is a great deal to me. Maybe that’s why I sorta had a lot to say. Still, I haven’t changed my mind, meeting these wonderful people who shared your love for a certain type of music was priceless in comparison. I think. Maybe. Probably. Hopefully. Oh well.

Because I want this to be a real blog

So some smartass posted that a real blogger posts things that are actually helpful. Ya know, informative, research-worthy, stuff like that. So maybe i have to post some things like that. Not just my personal dilemmas and most recent frustrations. I'd love for my blog to be actually helpful to people. I'd love for my blog to actually be used for something other than letting my recent thoughts get out there. Maybe the smartass blogger who said so was a little offensive and rude, but he did make sense. Alrighty then, I vow to make sure to post sensible articles on this blog. My personal thoughts and feeble dramas won't be forbidden, but they shouldn't make up everything. Sounds good. Now, let's think of something worth writing about...

The Blog with No Name (yet)

This is to be known as the blog with no name. Quite obviously it doesn't have a name yet. I cannot think of anything remotely cool enough or catchy enough as a blog title right now. Actually, it was a spontaneous decision to finally create a blog where I would let myself be identified. Big step there, Clarice. So, yes. This might not be my first blog. But it is my first blog where I am not hiding from my art work pictures or doodles or poems or writings. This will just be me. Plain ol' me, together with the crappy mundane things I have to deal with every single day of my ordinary life. What an exciting way to introduce my blog! Well, I did say that this was going to be the truth and nothing but. So I guess I'm playing by my own rules here.
