Popped back on here to look around for the first time in forever. It feels weird havenât not been on this blog in so long!
Peter chuckled. âGive me the details, Darcy!â He said excitedly.Â
âCanât do that Peter,â she said, mock sadness saturating her tone. âYouâd know too much. Iâd have to kill you.â
Peter pouted. âOh, come on! I wonât tell anybody.âÂ
âI know you wouldnât, Petey. Dead men tell no tales and all that.â
"Hey Darce, quick question. What color was y' iPod? It wasn't lime green, was it?"
âIâd say it was more of a neon green. Wait, why?â
âYou wouldnât learn anything from that, now would you?â
âTâ be fair though, do yâ honestly think mâgonna learn anythinâ from this?â
Darcy paused for only the briefest of moments. âNo, not really. But I still get a free iPod out of it.â
"Hey Darce, quick question. What color was y' iPod? It wasn't lime green, was it?"
âIâd say it was more of a neon green. Wait, why?â
âWell I hope youâre satisfied, because your originality just cost you over two hundred bucks.â
âWhy donât yâ just get Starky tâ buy yâ one thatâs actually worth a damn? Like câmon on, Darce. Manâs a tech genius. Make him built yâ one for free!â
âYou wouldnât learn anything from that, now would you?â
âOh silly Petey,â Darcy gave him a grin that was just shy of being fully evil. âThatâs only the beginning.â
Peter chuckled. âGive me the details, Darcy!â He said excitedly.Â
âCanât do that Peter,â she said, mock sadness saturating her tone. âYouâd know too much. Iâd have to kill you.â
Tonyâs into anal pen narration pass it on.
By the time he arrived in the hall Darcy was already hanging up on a phone call. She turned to give Peter a wide and mischievous grin.
âIt begins."Â
Peter smiled. "What begins? The Llamapocalypse?"Â
âOh silly Petey,â Darcy gave him a grin that was just shy of being fully evil. âThatâs only the beginning.â
âDarcy.â She shook the offered hand and allowed herself a grin as she sat back on the couch they shared.Â
âWell Darcy, âm sorry ta hear your day wasnt too good.â Kazia gave Darcyâs hand a light squeeze before letting it go and setting her own back in her lap.
âEh, it wasnât bad. Just not that eventful. But at least I met someone new, huh?â
"Hey Darce, quick question. What color was y' iPod? It wasn't lime green, was it?"
âIâd say it was more of a neon green. Wait, why?â
âNope. You broke it so youâre the one whose gonna buy me a new one. Shoulda thought âbout it.â
âAw, Darce! Yâ not beinâ fair! Yâ woulda done the same and yâ know it!â
âNo, I woulda been smart and put somethinâ in his coffee that wouldâve actually effected it.â
âWhat, like salt? Darce come on! Whereâs the originality in that?â
âWell I hope youâre satisfied, because your originality just cost you over two hundred bucks.â
"Hey Darce, quick question. What color was y' iPod? It wasn't lime green, was it?"
"Iâd say it was more of a neon green. Wait, why?"
âNope. You broke it so youâre the one whose gonna buy me a new one. Shoulda thought âbout it.â
âAw, Darce! Yâ not beinâ fair! Yâ woulda done the same and yâ know it!â
âNo, I woulda been smart and put somethinâ in his coffee that would've actually effected it.â
Darcy! If you could date an avenger who would it be?
âWell letâs see. Iâm not into chicks, so Natâs out. Tonyâs a married man and even if he wasnât weâd just end up killing each other. Thor isnât really my type, Bruce is married and also not my type and Clintâs only love in life is arrows and maybe Nat. Cap isnât my type either...So none of them really. I mean if you consider a certain Canadian an Avenger-You know what never mind. None. Nope.â
HAIL HYDRA.
âI think I need an adult-I mean a Captain.â
"Hey Darce, quick question. What color was y' iPod? It wasn't lime green, was it?"
"Iâd say it was more of a neon green. Wait, why?"
"Should think about that before you start droppinâ other peoples shit in coffee. Now shut up and walk."
"But Daaaaarceyyyyy! It was worth it! You shoulda saw his face. And heâs the one who made the coffee. Just lemme steal his wallet and then he can buy yâ a new one."
âNope. You broke it so youâre the one whose gonna buy me a new one. Shoulda thought âbout it.â
"Hey Darce, quick question. What color was y' iPod? It wasn't lime green, was it?"
"Iâd say it was more of a neon green. Wait, why?"
"Ian stop talking anâ start steppinâ. Youâre getting me that new iPod right now." She grabbed her brothers arm and turned, hauling him out with her.
Ian pouted as he was tugged after his younger sister. âBut Darcy! Mâbroke! How about yâ just get Matthews tâ buy yâ a new one? After all, it was his coffee that ruined it!â
"Should think about that before you start droppin' other peoples shit in coffee. Now shut up and walk."
Winter Walk (closed)
A few steps from the tower and Darcy recalled the iPod she had in her coat pocket as her fingers brushed over the surface. She decided to make her walk a bit more bearable and popped her headphones into her ears, securing them before switching her iPod on and scrolling through her list of songs. The walk would be a bit long and more than a bit chilly, but that didnât mean it had to be wholly unpleasant.
She had just selected a song and started to return her iPod to her pocket when she felt a strange sensation. It felt as though someone were watching her, and she didnât get a good feeling from that sensation at all.
She had been preparing to turn when something cold and metallic wrapped around her neck. A quick glance down confirmed it was most certainly metal and that it was in the shape of an arm, and another arm, this one not metal, went around her waist.
The motion caused her to drop her iPod and she watched as it broke on the pavement, her first thought, strange for someone in her situation, simply being dammit, not again.
One hand had already been in her pocket and luckily it was the one that was containing Gramps, her favorite taser. She jerked it free of its confines and immediately jabbed it back into the stomach of whoever was attacking her, switching it all the while swinging her leg back to preform a vicious kick right between the legs of her attacker.
She just hoped whoever it was happened to be a guy.
He had to move quickly. They couldnât just stay out in the street like this. It would only be a matter of time until someone saw and tried to intervene. Outside help wasnât the problem- Bucky would have them down on the ground in just seconds. The issue was that unless he dragged her to the nearby alleyway, just a few yards away, then people would notice. The last thing he needed was attention, especially with his arm wrapped around the womanâs throat. It just doesnât look good.
Before he could even take a step, something was shocking his stomach. It stung and he could feel his muscles constrict, felt his human arm twitch and slacken, but that was it. The sensation was very familiar and as he blinked, a hazy memory flashed across his eyes. A room with brick walls and blinding lights, filled with the scent of chemicals. The sound of a drill going off and then pain, such pain as his body convulsed. People- doctors?- holding him down as they sorted out the wiring in his arm, hooking it up to his brain. More jolts of electricity, more pain, so much pain-
It would take more than a tazer to bring Bucky down. Unfortunately for him, the exact moment his mind started to wander was the exact moment that the woman decided to kick.
The pain was sudden and intense enough to have him retract both arms away. Had he been weaker, the kick would have brought him down to the ground, maybe to his knees at best. Bucky gritted his teeth together in an almost-wince as he bent over the slightest bit. His eyes closed and he took a second to try and compose himself. This woman was strong then. Made his mission a little harder. With a deep inhale, Bucky opened his eyes and looked at his target and oh boy, if looks could kill.
He remained quiet as he stood up straight again and lurched forward to knock the tazer out of her hand with his right, turning to use his metal arm as a shield against anymore kicks.
She could feel the arm around her waist begin to twitch as electricity began to course through whoever was behind her. She was surprised that it didn't seem to really loosen their hold, however, and when the kick was what brought them to finally let go she was shocked. Who could take a taser to the gut but couldn't take a kick to the balls?
Before whoever it was could make another grab for her she spun around and stepped back, holding the taser up in what she hoped was a threatening manner. Apparently not, considering in the next second it was slapped from her hands and sent clattering uselessly to the ground. Her eyes followed it before darting back up to the man and a vague recognition came over her face as she squinted.
She was fairly certain she'd seen his face in the SHIELD database before. He had something to do with HYDRA if she recalled correctly, though off the top of her head she couldn't recall what all the file said. But that didn't matter much now. What did matter was that, whoever he was, he was there and attacking her.
Of all the days to leave her gun at home. So much for her SHIELD training carrying over.
"Alright, buddy. You're probably a little pissed about the taser and balls thing, but look at it from my perspective." She held her hands up and backed up slightly. Maybe if she distracted him for long enough someone would come by, or she could at least come up with a better plan. After all, she'd talked herself out of bad situations before.
Of course those situations typically didn't involve a lunatic with a metal arm coming at her.
"If you /tell/ me what you want instead of trying to strangle me, maybe we could work something out?"
Winter Walk (closed)
After a long day at the cafe the last thing Darcy wanted was to have to go out and pick up groceries, but when she saw that her section of the fridge was empty she knew it was unavoidable. Luckily the weather wasnât so cold that she couldnât move without freezing to the spot, and so after finding her scarf and hat she made her way back out into the cool winter air.
The light snow that had taken place earlier in the day had made the sidewalk just a bit slick, but she managed to keep her footing as she started away from the tower. She mentally went over everything she would need, from frozen meals down to a new case of cherry coke. She figured carrying it all back would be a bit of a chore, but she didnât feel like fighting the New York traffic after her day.
With hands tucked firmly in her jacket pockets she set off for the store.
Bucky had been in New York for a few days now. Although his mission was to get into the Stark Tower, he needed to know where he was, needed to know how to quietly and quickly navigate around the city. Something deep down told him that this place was familiar and he found himself getting around the crowded streets of Manhattan without an issue. Instinctively, he knew which streets to take and he would have thought it was odd, but this wouldnât be the first time he just knew where to go and what to do.
He paid no attention to the snow as he watched the building. He needed to get in and at the moment, he could only think of one way to do that: with the help of one of the towerâs many residents. Of course, the word âhelpâ was used very loosely since Bucky wasnât going to give them a choice. He stood nearby and watched, waited, when finally he saw someone walk through the front doors. Pulling his jacket a little closer around his body, he stalked forward. Eyes glued on the target, he sped up and with a quick look around to make sure no one was paying them any sort of attention, he lurched forward and wrapped his metal arm around her neck, other arm wrapping around her stomach.
A few steps from the tower and Darcy recalled the iPod she had in her coat pocket as her fingers brushed over the surface. She decided to make her walk a bit more bearable and popped her headphones into her ears, securing them before switching her iPod on and scrolling through her list of songs. "Okay before you find it or say anything, know that I am very sorry. And if you don't know what I'm talking about yet...Just feel free to ignore me! I didn't do anything!"
"Darcy, what happened?"Â
"Absolutely nothing, Cap! Just go on about your all american duties and all that!" Darcy grinned and quickly started out of the room.
"Darcy, youâre about as good a liar as your brother. What happened?"Â
"Well...I maaaaaaaaaaay...Have accidentally....Spray painted the shield." Darcy immediately threw her hands up, as though in expectation of being freedom punched.
