@ t100 writers
Don’t act like you’re this beacon of queer rep when all you do is oversexualize queer girls and make queer boys act like brothers. Fuck you.
Why can we have a CL sex scene, but not even have Miller kiss his boyfriend when he’s sending him off into battle?
Why does Clarke need a fucking sex scene to prove she’s bi but miller doesn’t even get to kiss his bf?
IF YOU ARE OKAY WITH ROMANTIC AFFECTION AND SEXUALITY BETWEEN TWO WOMEN BUT NOT BETWEEN TWO MEN, YOU ARE HOMOPHOBIC
I’m going to take a moment to comment on this because as an LGBT person, the representation in The 100 is so, so important to me including Miller and Bryan’s relationship. I’d like to just make a couple very quick points to hopefully lessen your desires to jump on the angry train instead of enjoying the magic that is Briller.
1. I was aggressively yelled at on twitter just a few days ago for “ignoring” that people can be asexual. Something I definitely would never and do not ignore. It is, however, ignoring these things to require physical intimacy in order to consider that characters can exist on the LGBT/Queer spectrum. Characters do not have to be sexually affectionate in order to be romantically affectionate. That is not to say that Miller and Bryan are not physically intimate. It is just to say that even they weren’t, it wouldn’t invalidate their relationship or sexuality or romantic preference.
2. Clarke and Lexa have kissed exactly one time, in private, in the two seasons that they have shared a screen and shared romantic interest in one another. Clarke, being the lead of our show who gets far more screen time because of it, whose romantic plot lines are significant building blocks to the plot line of the show and her own character development. Miller and Bryan have been on screen together very few times so far, and yet have both been seen hugging one another and comforting one another (publicly) at the memorial, a different sort of comfortable, familiar intimacy we have not seen with Clarke and Lexa.
3. It is pretty common, among guys, girls, LGBT people and anyone else to not be incredibly physically affectionate in front of their friends or coworkers. I sure as heck know that I’m not, at all. PDA is not everyone’s thing. Just because Miller and Bryan didn’t kiss while they were working and in front of their friends doesn’t mean they don’t, won’t, or can’t share kisses.
People have all different kinds of relationships. Representation should vary in the types of affection it shows. From PDA to one night stands to intimacy and emotional support and public acknowledgement of relationships. Every couple handles all of these things differently. There’s no need to compare them. The beauty of having multiple same sex relationships, is not having to portray them all in the same exact way.
I wish I could be like “oooh, *rubs hands together* let’s get into this, shall we?” but I am so fucking tired.
Honestly Layne, you could have made your own post on your own blog expressing this opinion without putting OP and I on blast for your followers.
I don’t know what the fuck kind of feminist, wlw, lgbt+ activist you apparently think you are in the world when you turn around and do this shit. And by “do this shit,” I mean when you jump on a post just to talk over two other queer women and tell us that we’re wrong for taking issue with a piece of media which has absolutely no problem showing two women rolling around in bed (I’m referring to Niylah and Clarke here, since that’s what we’ve seen so far) but apparently has a problem showing two boys doing anything more than hugging when one of them is about to leave on a pretty dangerous mission??? Yeah, I’m gonna take issue with that. It seems like pretty blatant fetishization of queer women while two boys kissing is just too gay to put on screen, and I’m not going to look for excuses for that. Like I’m personally mad that my parents, who refer to my best friend’s girlfriend as her “…friend” have just been given a fucking golden opportunity to do the exact same thing with Brian and Miller. (Brian? Bryan? Whatever, henceforth in this post he shall be Brian.) Yeah, I take issue with the fact that nowhere in the narrative is it made clear that Brian is Miller’s boyfriend. We fandom members who spend lots of time thinking about the show and using our deductive reasoning, and who actually care about this representation are of course able to figure it out because it’s pretty obvious, but casual viewers who want to ignore the relationship as anything more than “friendly” now have totally free reign to do so. And I think that sucks. And I’m allowed to think that sucks without you showing up in my notifications to give me a lecture. But thank you for showing up anyway to tell me and OP that our opinions are not valid. Love when members of my own community do that to me.

The answer to the million dollar question
cool now please explain how american culture and belief and ideology and language changed so drastically in less than 200 years
In 97 years to be precise.
It wouldn’t change like that, they know damn well. If you created a hypothetical model of contemporary American society and added all of the controls we know of (nuclear fall out, 97 years, etc) you would never get anything like this. Never. They aren’t trying to be logical, they’re just trying to make direct links to indigenous groups …and tribal customs…because.this is a colonization story first and foremost.
Don’t get me started on the fact that no. Three generations of people living in space would have absolutely no idea how to live on the ground. They would NOT have a farm unit, not because you can’t farm in space because we’re looking for ways to do that now, but because growing fresh herbs on the station would use up way more oxygen then they’d be able to spare, with how much they were going on about “not having enough oxygen” (although most of the ark was unaware of this fact). And no, growing plants on a station isn’t like growing plants on Earth. On a station you control everything (oxygen, water intake, temp.). You can’t do that on Earth. They’d have to learn agriculture from the grounders. Lol remember when Clarke implied in season 1 that the ark had more doctors and farmers on it than the grounders had on earth? lol. Even health would be different in space. Humans would adapt to different conditions, like manufactured oxygen, instead of natural oxygen, and very very different pressurization. They wouldn’t be exposed to the same biological elements. And ark doctors would have no idea how to treat people who live on the ground. Space medicine is a specific type of medicine. And because this is several generations of people in space, their bodies would probably function a lot differently than ours. Also, explain how all of the arkers didn’t just immediately set sick from all of the rapid changes in pressure and weather and temperature…?? Sure the radiation on earth doesn’t bother them, we know. But what about everything else?
#this show is so disrespectful#that type of change would never happen in as little as 97 years#not even#anti the 100#the 100 wank#don’t get me started on the science I’ll go on forever about the science#also how do you grow crops in an environment supposedly destroyed by radiation#also why the fuck would grounders renounce the use of guns#also there is no fucking way a language would change that drastically in 97 years#also why the hell would the grounders not speak English while the arkers do the arkers would be the one’s speaking a different language#what kind of scifi is this?#pure blasphemy (via @bellimyss) but yeah sure klak knows to die her hair with blueberry but the grounders forgot about CPR in 97 years. Mmmmmmmkay then
