I see a parallel with:

hallway / the night in the hotel — that flower crown photo is very much in a hotel hallway

“the very first night” - and that was the first day / first day tweet from Diana

This light hearted breakup song is the only one that seems to fit for Dianna. There is a break in Swiftgron when Dianna goes to France to film The Family in late July of 2012. Taylor starts dating Conor and she writes This Love (a song about a former love returning to her) three months later a couple weeks just after she so happens to reunite with Dianna.

The only issue described in this song is that Taylor misses the person. It’s revealed they’re even talking on the phone and the muse is telling Taylor they miss her as well. This doesn’t fit for the bitter rage Taylor feels for the main breakup muse of Red who she accuses of never even loving her, let alone missing her, on IKYWT and All Too Well. It’s someone she wants to reconnect with unlike the WANEGBT muse.

If there was a Swiftgron break in the summer of 2012 it was only because Dianna was away for filming, which fits Taylor missing this person and being sad that they’re not together but not angry.

This song is about the 1989 muse as Taylor references several lyrics from that album

“And so it goes” (also on Style and You Are in Love)

“We were built to fall apart and come back together” (also in Out of the Woods)

“Polaroid Picture” (also in Out of the Woods)

“I drive down different roads but they all lead back to you” (same idea as I Wish You Would)

Dianna and Taylor famously threw an extravagant dress up party in the Beverly hills hotel

They also traveled to NYC together shortly after becoming inseparable and were spotted in hotels there

“But don't forget about the night out in L.A. dance in the kitchen, chase me down through the hallway”

Dianna and Taylor lived in LA during their relationship (whether it was friends or more than that)

They also danced in Taylor’s kitchen- Dianna had so much fun doing it she tweeted about it! (That’s her with Taylor’s cat)

It’s revealed that not only does Taylor miss the muse but the muse in turn misses Taylor as well. Harry spent all summer on tour hooking up with groupies, models, and a man named Nick Grimshaw. It’s impossible to say he didn’t miss Taylor after their alleged 2 week fling and subsequent break up but he sure isn’t acting like it.

Dianna on the other hand was asked about Taylor in an interview while she was abroad and claimed if her career as an actor didn’t work out she could “just go on the road with Taylor and carry her bags” and also tweeted to congratulate Taylor about the lead single of Red dropping. It certainly seems fair to say she missed her!

Themes and Gayness

We have several mentions of night (like all the other songs associated with Dianna) but what’s more interesting about this song is that it’s such a secret from her friends:

“They don’t know how much I miss you”

“No one knows how much I miss you”

“They don’t know about the night in the hotel”

Harry wasn't a secret. Justin Bieber gave an interview to a magazine about Haylor the day it started. Allegedly everyone knew Taylor and Harry were a thing.

“We broke the status quo” - can someone explain to me how white presumably cishet Taylor Swift and white presumably cishet Harry Styles break any status quo?

2011 Swiftgron Courtship

A birdie told me DA was backstage at SNL last night. Snuck in like Selena and other friends. The pictures of DA with friends at the Bowery hotel were to make it look like she wasn’t there, but those were taken earlier in the night. She blends in easier with her darker hair but we will see if pictures from backstage or the after party come to the service and someone is able to identify her in the background.

I'll come back to this if we have a repeat of October 2019 (confirmation of Dianna being at the after party).

Once again thinkin' about how taylor didn't say:

Let's talk about taylor and she/her pronouns.

We all know about the live performances where taylor says she instead of he or you. There's also that audio where she says "kissed all the girls in their expensive cars" from "king of my heart".

And with the release of red(tv) we all thought something isn't right about "the very first night" and she clearly wrote the song with "her" pronoun and not "you".

But there are also other songs where things might seem out of place. Like in one of my favorite songs " miss americana and the heartbreak prince" the "OK!" in chorus sounds unnecessary and off place. But it's perfect if you sing " miss americana and the heartbreak princess".

Red was her fourth album and I thought she would've gotten used to writing with he/him pronouns. The fact that she still used "her" makes me think what if she had hope everytime she was writing a song that this is the album she's gonna come out with, but it never happened?

These vault tracks are proving Swiftgron was not easy. A lot of talk about how her real friends didn’t know what was happening between them and what she felt for her. Really puts into perspective at least Swiftgron 1.0. They weren’t just keeping it a secret from the public but possibly even from their friends and family. Over the years Taylor reflected back on the relationship and realized it was not their fault but instead the circumstances didn’t allow them to really have a chance.

When it comes to Swiftgron 1.0, I don't think there's a consensus on when it crossed the line from "acquaintances/friends/best friends" to an alleged "intimate relationship".

I do subscribe to the theory that a PR planted "feud narrative" was created to keep them apart, since they had been dating since well before early September, imo.
