You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting — over and over announcing your place in the family of things.
Mary Oliver, Wild Geese (via water-veiled)
In 1492 the natives discovered they were Indians, they discovered they lived in America, they discovered they were naked, they discovered there was sin, they discovered they owed obedience to a king and a queen from another world and a god from some other heaven, and this god had invented guilt and clothing, and had ordered burned alive all who worshiped the sun and the moon and the earth and the rain that moistens it.

I want to be in a relationship where I’m comfortable to be myself and comfortable for them to be themselves. I want a true friendship where it’s a deep connection, not just a “we go out on Friday nights” or “yeah we talk sometimes and then get high together” I want a friendship / romantic relationship where I want to spend every hour with them… where I know that no matter what idea or thought passes through my mind, they won’t be judgmental and that they will understand my insanity as much as they do my sanity. I want a love that anchors me as well as sweeps me off my feet. I want a lover that makes me cry but not tears of self-consciousness or feelings of unworthiness but feelings of unadulterated bliss; genuine, simplistic and elemental happiness! I want to be lost in their love but also find a home in their voice, eyes and arms! I want to feel free and not shackled to them but I want them to have the comfort knowing that it will always be them… my home is not geographical, though I do feel connected to certain places, my true home will always be standing besides them… until expansion do us part.
