Baltimore’s Inner Harbor isn’t just a place for overpriced crab cakes and awkward tourist photos anymore. Lately, it’s been coughing up something much uglier: bags of human remains.

In the last three weeks, at least four separate discoveries have been made — black plastic trash bags bobbing at the water’s edge, some half-submerged where kids usually toss bread to the ducks. Inside? dismembered body parts. Arms missing hands, legs, torsos, but no complete body. A gruesome patchwork puzzle that, according to police, “does not indicate a pattern.”

Right. Because Baltimore tides are just that convenient.

According to locals, they aren’t buying it. Down by the water, the whispers have a name: The Harbor Butcher. The idea of someone methodically carving up victims and parceling them out to the Inner Harbor like yesterday’s garbage isn’t something the Baltimore Police Department wants to admit — but it’s what everyone’s thinking.

Despite the entire waterfront being cordoned off after the second find, my source — with better clearance than I’ll ever have — slipped me details. The bags weren’t just dumped at random. They were tied off the same way every time: double knotted, with duct tape sealing the tops. Some had fishing weights inside to keep them from surfacing too quickly. That’s not careless disposal. That’s planning.

So who is the Harbor Butcher, and how long before another bag floats up between the paddle boats and the tourist ferries? If this is organized dumping, then the water hasn’t finished talking.

And, if you’ve seen anything unusual near the docks — someone carrying heavy bags late at night, boats pulling in where they shouldn’t — you know where to find me. The police might not want this story out, but it’s my job to inform the public.

My neighbor called me this morning. Apparently she saw something odd in a big plastic bag, but she thought it was just the trash. Except it smelled awful. So her dog went and messed with it and she found a dead body with no hands. I'm sure it's not the only one. There's been other reports of the same in the local news in Baltimore.

For about a week, a stretch of interstate on the way to or out of Baltimore had become a deathtrap. Drivers and their cars were being found at the bottom of embankments or crashed into nearby guardrails or trees — every one of them still strapped in, still upright, but with blindfolds tied across their eyes. At first, investigators and the public whispered about suicide pacts, cults, even gang initiations. But the pattern became undeniable: someone was putting these drivers on their final ride.

This week, law enforcement finally announced the arrest of the so-called “Highway Blindfold Killer.”

According to the FBI, there was (allegedly) only one thing that led them to the break in the case: tire tracks. At each crash site, investigators found unusual treads — wide, angular, and belonging to an ultra-rare European import brand. They weren’t supposed to be anywhere near rural Baltimore, and yet the same prints showed up over and over.

The tires led back to one man: a trucking dispatcher with a side hustle as a “roadside helper.” He’d cruise the highways in a retrofitted service vehicle, pulling over stranded motorists or waving down drivers under the guise of checking on them. When he got close enough, he offered assistance — before forcing them back behind the wheel blindfolded. His motives remain unknown, per usual, law enforcement refuses to give anything. The nature of how detailed the testimony and methods are makes me wonder if there really was only one method used to determine his M.O….

Anyways.

It’s the oldest trick in the book: hide in plain sight. He wasn’t a monster lurking in the shadows — he was the guy with the flashlight, the high-visibility vest, the easy smile. The one you’d least suspect when your engine started to smoke.

So here’s your moral of the story: on the highway at night, maybe the devil isn’t the one driving behind you. Maybe he’s the one offering to help.
