Please help me and my fiancé start a better life
Hello, my name is Justin/Mal. I am a trans man and my life and living situations have been deteriorating rapidly, and it’s just recently that everything has come to a devastating head.
For the past seven months, I’ve been living with my fiance Matthew at his mother’s apartment, which has put a tremendous strain on everyone. For one, I’m not legally supposed to be there, but otherwise I would be homeless. I’ve had to take long trips to my friend’s house to stay with Matt and my cat, or I would risk them all getting evicted when inspection comes around.
Well, inspection did come around and we failed it, and now my landlord is moving into our complex. It will be hard to explain my car being there, but they have made it clear that my cat cannot come back to the apartment currently. This puts a heavy need for me to take my next course of action faster than I was planning.
Mattie and I were planning on moving back to Maryland in June/July, to start a new life together. However, now I have to quickly get back to my home state faster for my own safety as well as the safety of my cat. If I cannot get up to Maryland within the next few weeks, I will have to surrender my fur baby.
It’s been very hard for me to save money, as is for my fiance. We’re both horribly mentally ill and disabled with chronic illnesses, and my last job let me go. That job didn’t even help with the tremendous medical bills I have to begin with, because they refused to give me more than 10 hrs a week on a good work week. Neither of us have health insurance or are able to buy meds for ourselves, even when we got ill with things like the flu or colds. To put it lightly, we’ve been struggling.
My family barely has the funds to support themselves, and they’ve made it clear they physically can’t help me that much. I don’t have a home to go back to since my old room has been packed up, and the place my fiance and I are looking to move to would allow us to live more freely, but we’re struggling to come up with the funds to get there sooner than later.
Basically, I’m desperate to keep myself from being homeless, trying to save my fiance from being separated and put in a bad situation, and trying to keep my cat from being surrendered. I can’t imagine being forced to leave my fiance behind in a bad environment, and all we’re trying to do is get to a better place to live and figure out jobs we can both do.
I feel bad asking for help, but I’m scared and desperate. I have nothing. I’ve been living on canned food and what little bit my parents have given me. At this point I don’t even know the funds I need, but I’m just trying to survive. Any little bit helps, and it would all go towards cat care, gas money, and moving expenses.
