An old friend

I have a friend who has been out of work for a while and didn't have a car. I've been supportive during her job hunt. She finally tells me that she has a job but doesn't want to tell me where it is... (afraid of having a job beneath her?) The ironic part is in my opinion the career she's worked the past 10 plus years is "beneath" her... Not because I look down on people who do the job but because it's not the career she says she wants to do. She also has used the job as a crutch, keeping a low paying job so she can keep her public assistance benefits.
