How do you get into “the zone”? The official term is “flow state”. That is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. For me, it’s boxing. It doesn’t matter what’s going on around me (As you can tell I’m the video) I’m locked-in on the task at hand, all the while keeping the end goal in mind. I fully accept that I have to “embrace the suck” to reach my goal. Training isn’t always my favorite thing to do, but the results of the training… that part! The ability to hyper focus on the end goal sends me, every time.
