There’s a very narrow street in our neighborhood that all the locals have agreed we can just walk in the middle of the sidewalk during non-busy times because there’s just one sidewalk and it’s narrow. Sean and I call this “Bradshawing” - walking down the middle of the street like we’re Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.

Made a refreshing little salad with daikon, carrots, yuzu ponzu, nori, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and a little sugar. I toasted the sesame seeds first.

I keep a glow-in-the-dark ghost bride from Disney’s Haunted Mansion hanging in our bedroom window facing the street and I wonder how many of our neighbors think it’s a Virgin Mary and that we’re super Catholic or something.

Another night, another Xi’An Famous Foods meal followed by another great Broadway play. This one was about my neighboring neighborhood, and it was funny as hell.

Hambagu with daikon oroshi. Steamed broccoli and steamed rice. Bomb. So good.

My sister made dinner! So happy she had enough energy to be back in the kitchen. So delicious! Nikujaga, 5 flavor rice, pickled daikon and eggplant, and white miso with tofu and enoki.

The rituals have been observed. This year Steve’s wasn’t delivering so thanks @marthascountrybakery for this year’s birthday pie 🗝️🍋‍🟩🥧

21 years ago my sister and I went to Sears Portrait Studio to get portraits for a Mothers’ Day Gift for our mom, and they made Kirsten stand on a box. 😂
