alr so I think Dirk could stay pretty much the same. I'm ngl I could see him as a protocol droid or smth, c3po vibes, but let's just keep him a human holistic detective. I think it's hilarious for him to NOT be force sensitive, and for him to just have INSANE luck. He's just a guy who hitchhikes (wink wink) around the galaxy at random, solving mysteries like it's freelance. Basically.. canon Dirk?
Todd is interesting. Making Amanda force sensitive makes so much sense in my head, but Todd? Idk. But for the sake of star wars lore, we're keeping the 'force runs in the family' thing. Todd either has NO CLUE he has it, or he does have somewhat of an idea - but he uses it exclusively for convenience. Like instead of actually diving into it he just uses it because he's lazy. And he's just. Wow okay I guess I can do that now. But when he finds out about the implications of being a force user (he doesn't know anything that's going on because he's stupid..) he's just 😨 and decides to hide it when he actually starts hanging out with the agency and actually talking to ppl and not being alone 24/7
Farah is SUCH a Jedi. She was there for the rise of the empire when she was just finishing up her Padawan training, but ofc she had to go into hiding. I think she'd pull a Cal Kestis sort of thing? Like she'd just start a new, 'nothing special' life on some irrelevant ass planet. Btws her lightsaber was def blue!! I think she's pretty basic - no dual wielding or anything.
I'm not creative enough for this 🤧 the agency trio would meet as you'd expect - Dirk pretty much drags Farah and Todd into stuff. Let's say Todd has a normal, totally not force related, job. It doesn't pay much, but Todd doesn't have any remarkable attributes (or so he thinks) that wouldn't give him away as a (sucky) force user. So, Todd, like in canon, has a low paying job he hates, but here he deals with it for the sake of not being potentially hunted down.
Meanwhile Farah, while lying low, is using her skills to her advantage. Being a bounty hunter isn't exactly crazy in star wars, but especially for Farah who, while cautious about leaving this irrelevant planet/system, still wants to, because it's not easy to get pay here, with nothing going on besides occasionally collecting scraps from ships. That is, until there appears an anonymous bounty, that may span the entire galaxy. Dirk Gently. Farah gets word of it. She keeps it in mind. But she ALSO keeps in mind the facts - she can't leave, and there's no way Dirk Gently would find himself out here.
This is getting needlessly complicated and I'm not even thinking this through atp. Anyhow. Something weird happens to Todd, because ofcourse it does. Maybe he gets accused of something at his job, or gets wrapped up in something near criminal. He doesn't wanna get jailed, killed, or whatever else. Shocker!! It's not like he can do anything either - that guy is POOR, he can't afford a lawyer, if those even exist in his area of the galaxy. Todd makes peace with it. Like alr ig I'll just. Die or wtv. That's when Dirk shows up! Pretty much the exact same thing as in the show; Todd returns home all moody, and then Dirk pops up, fighting ensues. Dirk Gently ily because I don't have to come up with some elaborate explanation on why he's here 🤷♀️ he just heard of some gang stuff going on, he pulled up, and Todd struck him as someone alienated from the whole conflict, despite being a key player in it, somehow. Dirk wants to figure it out, and Todd does NOT want him to do that. Until he considers the idea that despite not looking the part MAYBE Dirk actually knows what he's doing, and can help clear his name.
