Under the Nazi regime men who were deemed homosexual (sometimes true, sometimes not) were forced to wear an inverted pink triangle and sent to concentration camps. Countless lives were senselessly lost. Years later this symbol was flipped (point upward) and taken to be a symbol of gay rights. This family has a long history of taking words and symbols used against us and making them empowering. I chose to get this tattooed inverted to honor those who were lost to hate.
