thinking about the transition from "searched the party of better bodies" to "i hosted parties and starved my body". like maybe those parties she went to were also hosted by deeply broken people. maybe those bodies she envied were just as sick as hers would be.

she's ostensibly won at life: she's in the driver's seat - the party is hers - and the body others envy is her own. you're on your own kid is about looking around and realizing, "maybe we all get just what we wanted. & maybe wanting this was the worst thing i could've done"
