Dante puts his uncovered arm around Beatrice's face, her body inspired by contemporary canons, and is about to kiss her. Roberto Ferri, “I realized that I was faced with a challenge and a very high responsibility, also towards my own artistic identity. And then I listened to the emotions of the two protagonists. Of the ardor of desire touched but never satisfied. Of that desire in which the impetus of eros becomes a viaticum of spiritual elevation. From that listening the work slowly took shape. It materialized in a triumph of sensuality suspended between light and shadow where the apparent antagonisms between soul and flesh, candour and eros meet and harmonize in that total satisfaction of desire which is a metaphor for life itself".
