rewatching the only good part of Rebooted (the scenes at Garmadon’s monastery), and I think it’s sooo funny that, based on Garmadon’s reaction to Zane powering up the Techno Blade, he honest to Sources believed that Zane was about to torture Pixal for information XDD Like sir??? Do you know something about Zane’s personality that we don’t??? Why would you immediately come to that conclusion???
Bro predicted the Ice Emperor arc before the writers did lmaooo
Ninjago fans will really look you dead in the eye and say with a straight face: “Yeah, Wu is the son of a man who’s half-Oni, half-Dragon, the brother of a man who’s half-Oni, half-Dragon, and the uncle of a man who’s quarter-Oni, quarter-Dragon… but that doesn’t mean he has an Oni form!”
Why yes, Lewis manager, I am stiffing you on bread, because not only do I like hindering my company’s sales, I also like dragging extra bread back in at the end of the day for no FUCKING reason! You’re sooo smart for figuring out my nefarious scheme! Things’ll be MUCH more efficient now that you’re forcing some poor employee to stand around breathing down my neck, instead of just letting me do my job and move on with my route! I’m sure they have nothing better to do with their time! :)))

"Mom, I asked for the salt.”
“And what's the magic word?”
“The salt.”
Garmadon’s lips curved up as he listened to his wife and son bicker, his tea and sandwich long forgotten. His wife, {Name}, beautiful as she is, was also a prankster herself. Lloyd inherited his sense of humor from his mother after all.
It reminded him of his youth when he first met {Name}. Of course, she would play endless pranks and jokes on him as well. It's one of the first instances he’d truly noticed her. Where he realized she didn't irritate him as much as the others.
Lloyd had suggested a picnic for them. A nice family gets together in an open field beside Ninjago City away from ninja training or Garmadon’s own work as a teacher. {Name} was always free when it came to her family so she didn't mind canceling her plans to go. Her own students could wait when it came to her family. Yes, she loved her students, don't worry.
He was guessing Lloyd was starting to regret choosing a picnic as an outing by how smothered he felt.
“C’mon Lloyd, I taught you better manners than that.” {Name} teased as their son rolled his eyes fondly.
“Fine. May I please have the salt.”
“Of course you may, after your father.” Lloyd rightfully groaned, throwing his head back as his shoulders slumped. Garmadon let a chuckle slip from his lips. It's times like these where he felt blessed to be a part of.
It made him feel more human.
As they settled into eating their sandwiches, curtsy of the ice ninja, {Name} looked over at their son. “Would you pass me another tea bag?”
“What's the magic word?” Lloyd tried to tease his mother back smugly. Like mother like son they say.
“Son, listen to your mother.” Garmadon’s voice was firm, the one he used around his students while instructing. Lloyd begrudgingly passed his mother a tea bag, her triumphant smile on full display.
As they settled once again, Garmadon took her hand, his thumb tracing her inner wrist above her soulmate mark. It was a simple design that was funnily enough his oni form. What he believed to be an omen for his future, turned out to be a way towards the woman who he planned to love for the rest of his life.
{Name} smiled fondly at the way he caressed her mark. A habit she found him doing out of comfort when he was truly in a state of peace. They both lifted their eyes to meet each other’s gaze, a small understanding passed between the two. I’m here. I love you.
Their son could only look between them in confusion. He had heard how the whole soulmate mark worked. One person was born with a tattoo mark on their wrist that's meant to represent their soulmate. Whatever that meant.
He also knew his parents were yin and yang. A promise couples, usually soulmates, made when they found a balance between one another. Lloyd’s own soulmate mark was of a dragon. What that meant for him, he’d found out soon enough.
Lloyd looked between his parents before quickly snatching the salt from his father's side. That earned another chuckle from Garmadon and a small glare from {Name}. As he added some salt to his fries, he looked up at them.
“So, you never told me the story of the whole soulmate mark thing.” His parents looked between each other before looking back at Lloyd.
“There's not much to say. For us at least, we found each other naturally.” Garmadon took a sip of his tea only for his wife to snort beside him.
“Naturally? You avoided me because you thought the mark meant you’d kill me.” Garmadon choked on his tea.
“Only because I had no idea what a soulmate mark was. Yours was intricate.” He tried to defend himself only to find his wife rolling her eyes at him, albeit fondly. “Knowing who your father is, I'm surprised he didn't tell you.”
Lloyd looked between them, more curiously. “Seriously? How did you guys, you know, get together then?”
“Are you sure that's the story you want to hear?” {Name} asked with a teasing tone in her voice.
“Don't start, mom.”
Garmadon let out a thoughtful hum. His son was old enough to hear a bit of their story. “I suppose it's time we let you in on the story of our mark..”
“We’ll be here all day if you do. Just get to the part where you asked me to be your yin.” Garmadon shook his head fondly at his wife's words.
“Alright. I’ll start with that. Fair warning though, it's a quick one.” He took {Name}’s hand as he turned to Lloyd, who was already focused on his every word with a cup of tea, and began to recount the day he made an everlasting promise to his soulmate.

“Brother, the mark doesn't mean certain doom for you or {Name}. Like she said, it's a soulmate mark. She is your soulmate.”
Garmadon couldn't fathom another word his brother was saying. He couldn't believe his mark, the one that ties him to his soulmate, was an oni. He thought it was the end for them both. A curse that started with the darkness inside him.
His father had tried to calm his nerves by saying it was a different kind of prophecy, not an omen. He ran a hand through his hair as he sat on his bed, his frustration growing.
“Enough, Wu. Leave me alone.” But his brother was persistent. Or should he say, {Name} was persistent. The latter now taking Wu’s place in knocking on his door.
“Garmadon, you come out here right now.” His supposed soulmate called out from his door. Usually, he'd get angry enough to force them away. However, knowing {Name} was outside the door didn't irritate him as much.
“{Name}, give him a moment. You know how my brother gets his temper.”
{Name} clicked her tongue. “Then I’ll knock some sense into him. I’m breaking this door down.” With that she turned and left the house. Wu could only watch her hoping she didn't mean that in a literal sense. Hopefully.
Garmadon, still sulking on his bed, hadn't heard the conversation outside his door. He waited for a few minutes before getting up from his bed and walking towards the door to open it. Once he opened it, he was only greeted with Wu’s anxious expression.
“Did you trick me?” The master of destruction asked in annoyance, his glare locked onto his brother. “I didn't! Honest! {Name} said something about 'knocking some sense into you?’” Wu seemed more scared for his brother rather than his soulmate. Knowing {Name}, understandable.
Garmadon pushed past his brother with what sounded like a snarl that came from deep within. He quickly ran out of his house and down the streets of the town. Thankfully, {Name} was still in the process of walking towards her house when he approached.
Taking a hold of her wrist, he spun her around. The action itself surprised himself more than it did for {Name}. He pulled her away from the streets into a quiet alley for some privacy between the soulmates. Sensing she’d fight him off, he spoke first. “You know what will happen to me if the darkness inside me takes over.”
Maybe that was a little too blunt.
{Name} blinked, processing his words as her eyes softened. She took a small step back, giving them space but he found his hand tightening around her wrist. Not willing to let go just yet. “I know. I know about the darkness and yet,” she paused, her free hand to cup his cheek, “all I see is the man I’m destined with by fate, struggling with overcoming a prophecy he didn't choose. The darkness he didn't choose.”
Her words shocked him for a moment. Not many people knew about how the darkness inside him came to be. They only assumed he was born like that. He never cares to correct them. So why does his soulmate see the truth so clearly? Noticing his silence, she continued.
“It pains me to see you this way. You may think our future is filled with some catastrophe, but we shouldn't let it. We won't. Whatever life throws at us, let's overcome it together. Please, Garmadon.”
Her words hit him directly in his heart. For a moment, he forgot there was evil flowing through his blood. He wanted to make this woman his wife. Was it too soon for that?
He looked down at her again, his eyes searched hers as he leaned in. She noticed what he was trying to do before smiling and meeting him half way as their lips met.
The kiss, their first, was gentle but she could tell he was holding back by how his hand twitched on his wrist. She kissed him like it was the most natural thing in the world while he tried to keep up without seeming lost. His hands slid down to grip her hips to pull her closer, an audible gasp coming escaping her.
He only held back because they were still in public. That's what he told himself at least.
Eventually, they broke the kiss, their breaths mingling together blissfully. What came out of his mouth next, he blamed on adrenaline.
“Be my ying.”
“What?” {Name} snorted, the sound was endearing to him. “My father told me that soulmates usually partake in the tradition-” {Name} cut him off with a peck to his lips.
“I know what you mean. It's just that most people usually have a grand gesture for this kind of thing.” Garmadon’s lips curved into a soft smirk.
“Good thing we're not like most people.” With that, they shared another kiss. It was more passionate than their last one. He couldn't help but let slip a groan when she pulled at his hair. {Name} couldn't help herself and pulled away to blow air on his face. If he’d known better, she did that to cool down the heat in his face. The prankster she was.
“I’ll be your ying, Garmadon.”
🪼🐚☀️
“That's it? Seriously? No declaration of love you just asked mom on the street?”
Both Garmadon and {Name} both laughed at their son's bewilderment. They knew their story wasn't a traditional one with grand gestures but it's what made their story unique.
“I told you it was a quick story.” Garmadon chuckled at his son's expression.
“You know, if I ever need advice for meeting my soulmate I’ll come straight to you dad.” {Name} laughed at Lloyd’s playful comment.
“I’d give you the best advice for any situation you're in. You know my own personal experience for credibility.” Laughter followed his retort as the family found themselves reminiscing on both the past and their possible future.
{Name} handed Lloyd some fruits as an apology which he happily accepted. “It's a nice story. I guess I imagined it was more…spontaneous? Flamboyant? Excessive?”
“Those words have never been used to describe your father.” They all shared a laugh together as they ate their sandwiches and drank their tea. It appeared this picnic was a nice way to wind down.
Lloyd munched down on his fruits as the birds chirped around them. {Name} drank her tea, the same one she somehow nearly finished throughout his story. Garmadon breathed in the air, taking in the realness of the moment. His eyes drifted off to the distance where the city his son protected stood tall, unmoving. He liked knowing they had structure in their life. It's what he dreamed of when he was younger and in a darker state of mind.
That was of course before he managed to fully grasp his feelings for {Name}.
The moment was peaceful. A peace that he hoped to keep. As he traced the oni mark on {Name}’s wrist, he grounded himself. In the life they created within their son and the life they planned to live in the future.
“When you find your soulmate, I’d like to hear all about how you confessed your undying love to them.”
“Mom, please stop.”

I finally figured a good format for posting. Tumblr is confusing at times...
Garmadon, my beloved, they could never make me hate you-
Imagine spending the majority of your life having your moral fiber corroded by evil venom against your will, finally getting healed and having the chance to live a normal life, sacrificing yourself to save the world, then being resurrected with your memory all messed up, manipulated by someone who only loved the version of you that was corrupted by the venom-
And now everyone in your life treats you as fundamentally evil and incapable of being a good person all because fate dealt you the shittiest hand imaginable through no fault of your own
In retrospect, I think Crystallized is what pretty much single-handedly tanked Lloyd reputation in my eyes-
Nothing could’ve made my neutral view on him turn sour quicker than watching him shit-talk Garmadon even though he’s trying to be a better person, be a stubborn jackass about unlocking Oni form cuz he’s racist and forgot about Mystake’s existence, I guess, and then get spooked by his own damn reflection.
Add him glazing Wu to high heaven in Dragons Rising, and it’s the perfect recipe to make me hate his guts-
