Hey guys! So I know a lot of us are struggling right now and there’s a lot of uncertainty in the world, but I don’t know where else to turn. On a lot of my darkest days, this is where I’ve come for comfort and help. Some of you may know that my boyfriend, Matt, and I were traveling awhile back. We were visiting my family in Kentucky that I hadn’t been able to afford to go see in two years. The day before we were to fly back to Oregon, I woke up with a very sore throat. I decided to tough it out and fly back home anyway because I really needed to get back to work. The flight was really rough. By the time we got back, I had a fever and felt incredibly ill. Fast forward a couple of days and Matt was really sick as well. We both ended up having to go to the emergency department. Matt’s chest X-ray was unfortunately very bad. He had pneumonia in both lungs and the doctor said the scan showed “covid pattern.” We were both swabbed for Covid. Since we are both young and otherwise relatively healthy, we were allowed to come home with medication and an order to self quarantine for fourteen days. At this point, we have been out of work for almost two months with no idea when we will be able to return. Matt’s company is closed indefinitely and although I am considered an “essential” worker, they’ve cut our hours back so much that it’s going to be impossible to live. We’ve been trying everything to make ends meet, but we are feeling pretty hopeless and aren’t sure how we are going to pay all the bills that are piling up. It is truly one thing after another. After dealing with all of this, I just found out I also have a tooth infection and need a root canal and a crown. Without insurance, this alone is almost $2500. Having this procedure done is not even an option with how things currently are. Any money we have has to go to bills and we already can’t afford to pay all of them. I am getting really scared and sad that I may have to get my tooth pulled out. If you can help in any way, I promise you that it will be so appreciated and that we will definitely pay it forward in the future. Every single penny will go towards bills or my dental surgery. I feel so bad having to ask for help when I know we are all in this boat together, I just truly don’t have any other options. I love you all so much more than you’ll ever know and hopefully we can all make it through this together. 🙏🏻💕
