When people support each other, incredible things happen.
Oh my God. This is exactly what it sounds like, tho.
All that is missing is the outer space background, big yellow letters and ‘A long, long time ago,in a galaxy far, far away…’

Thought: I do NOT think that 50% of the world’s billionaires should be women. I think there shouldn’t be any billionaires at all.
I think you’re just angry you don’t have as much money as them.
Or like, I have principles and an economic philosophy that is different than you.
It seems pretty shitty since you’re suggesting we cap out how much a person can make. Seems unfair people can’t make past a certain point even if they work hard enough to get there.
No one works hard enough to honestly and ethically obtain a BILLION dollars. That amount of wealth is built on the exploitation of human labor and the enviroment.
So I dont give a shit if it~seems unfair~ to the richest of the rich that I dont particularly want them to be that god damn filthy rich, when over 3 billion people live on less than $1.25 a day.
They should teach how to safely surrender to police in high school.
THEY SHOULD TEACH HOW TO NOT MURDER CITIZENS IN POLICE ACADEMY
How much is a billion?
Recently, LeBron James bought a super mansion for 23 million dollars.
A Lamborghini Venano is 4.5 million.
This private island in the Bahamas cost 20 million.
This Private Jet- a Bombardier Lear Jet is 3 million.
The most expensive horse ever sold was 9 million.
This loft mansion in New York is 43 million.
So, you could buy LeBron James’s mansion, a Lamborghini, a private island, a private jet, the most expensive horse ever, and a loft mansion in New York, and it would all cost you 102 million dollars.
With a BILLION? You could do that nearly 10 more times (You’d have to forgo the 10th Mansion, OR the 10th private island to stay in budget.)
So no. No one needs that. No one needs enough wealth to own 9 mansions, 10 Lamborghinis, 10 private jets, 10 of the most expensive horses ever to exist, and 10 loft mansions in New York.
No one needs a billion dollars.
The average 2016 grad holds $37,172 in student debt.
1 billion dollars could pay off the entire student debt for 25,000 people.
Jeff Bezos, with his $100 Billion net worth, could pay off the debt of two million four hundred seventy-five thousand people (2,475,000) and still have 1 billion dollars left for himself.
Nearly ½ of the world’s population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.
At the start of 2017, Oxfam said eight billionaires from around the globe had as much money as the 3.6 billion people who make up the poorest half of the world’s population.
8.
8 people have as much money as over 3 billion.
If you spent $1000 a week, it would take you a MILLION weeks to spend a billion dollars. thats 250,000 months, that’s 20,833 YEARS.
If you spent $1000 a week, it would take you over 20,000 YEARS to spend a billion dollars.
Let’s assume you’ll live to be 100. If you started when you were a newborn, you’d have to spend 10 million dollars a year to spend 1 billion in a lifetime. Thats $833,333 a month. That’s $208,333 a WEEK. Thats $29,761 a DAY.
From the day you are born, if you live to be 100, you’d have to spend almost $30,000 EVERY DAY to spend a billion dollars.
I don’t get why people hate immigrants so much… Like they’re literally just… People… From another location….
My partner is an immigrant from the UK and still holds his citizenship. At a recent event, an acquaintance talked about how many “immigrants” get jobs over “Canadians” and they shouldn’t allowed to be management (which my partner is). My partner reaches across the table and goes “Hi, immigrant here!” and she goes “Oh I didn’t mean immigrants like you…” And you can so tell they just mean “brown people” or “Asian people” but they pretend it’s about jobs and shit.
That’s the same with my family. We were war immigrants from the soviet union and now live in Germany. Now the syrians are here because they also have war, and people keep asking me why I’m defending them so mercilessly. And when I tell them that my family (that is still alive) has gone through the same bullshit. But they insist that both scenarios are completely different. They’re not different, you’re just racist.
THEY’RE NOT DIFFERENT. YOU’RE JUST RACIST.
