long time no see! random question for you guys: what does it mean that I keep seeing rabbits? every time I go outside for the last 3 month I've seen a rabbit and I am not exaggerating! i have no idea what it means

Weird question time! I was doing a tarot reading about finding your path in the craft through patterns in past lives and connecting them to see what gods are part of your path. During this reading, as I was visualizing I had a very specific "vision" (??) where I was a lady who gave guidance to my community, and I was doing a ritual with deer antlers in an attempt to tell what was coming. I was in a small cottage, and it looked like it was maybe made with some grasses or straws native to the area, and I lived in a small, tight knit community and there were lots of evergreen trees. I've been googling and googling but I genuinely cannot tell what era this is from or what gods this relates to. Anyone know?

Using Tarot to Find Your True Gods

The old gods do not respond to someone whose bloodline or birthright they do not recognize. This is why no one should pick deities based on aesthetics. If you are drawn to paganism, but do not know where you belong, use tarot as a guide to the gods of your past lives.

Step 1: Invoke your higher self.

Find a quiet place where the lights are dim and the air is cool. Take deep breaths until you are calm and focused. Overhand shuffle your cards, while asking your higher self, “Whose mortal child am I?”

Cops take more stuff and kill more people than every other criminal combined. (Well, domestically; not counting war criminals.)

When people defend the existence of a police force it’s usually with the exact words “they keep us safe from criminals”, but that just doesn’t add up since we would literally be safer without cops on the street. Let’s be more honest: Cops keep rich people safe at the expense of poor people’s safety.

Up until about the 1950s the common perception of police from the people was that the police were viewed entirely the same as organized criminals, because police would often create crime to stop and solicite money from rich patrons and harass poor people. It didn’t help their image that they were associated with union busting, prohibition, excessive force, murder, perpetrators of a number of lynching, the alternative for lynching which was fast tracked executions of black people, evictions, and all state sanctioned violence.

Want to know what changed their perception? TV did. Dragnet 1951 was the first to do this. Cops got the biggest PR face-lift, the LA police unions would let the dragnet crew film entire shows for free in LA and use any equipment they wanted if the police got to review the script and write away negative police imagery. What was the result? A precedent. Every cop show in the past 7 decades got the same deal and every single one is pure propaganda. Your comfort show if really a mask on state sanctioned violence.

Yule!

     For the first time in a long time I am excited for this time of the year. When I was a kid I loved Christmas and then at some point I started to hate it. However, coming to the end of my first year of full time practicing and being out of the broom closet I find a new sense of excitement. 

(A side note: I have been a closeted on and off again witch since childhood, but always maintained my interest and pursuit of knowledge in the area)

I don’t really have a plan amongst the Covid world but here are a few things I have done that you can too. 

-Walk in the woods/forest while reflecting

-Collecting pine cones and evergreen branches from the ground in said places

-Decorating my house and altar with said evergreen and pine cones

-Made some pinecones into bird feeders and took them back to my favorite places as offerings to the animals and spirits.  (pinecone, birdseed and peanut butter is all that’s needed for that)

-Hunting for my Yule log. (Haven’t found a good candidate yet)

Some different herbs and their magickal uses

Just so you know, these aren’t all the magickal herbs out there. These are just ones I have written down in my grimoire and that I typically use.

Sea Salt: Purification and cleansing. (I like to sprinkle some at my doorway and windowsills).

Sage: Purification, banishing negative energies, and consecrating magickal tools and spaces. (This is an herb that I highly recommend all witches have in their possession).

Black Pepper: Banishing negativity, warding off evil, and protection.

Thyme: Invigorates the user and helps them move on from something that may be holding them back. Good for getting over losses.

Rosemary: Cleansing, purifying, and deals with matters of the heart.

Chamomile: Attracts money, luck, and helps reverse hexes.

Bay Leaves: Psychic matters and divination, success, money, and making wishes/intentions.

Basil: Domestic harmony, home protection, purifying, and warding off negative influences. (I’ve actually used this around my own home before. I’d say it works).

Parsley: Divination, psychic advancement, and protection.

Cinnamon: High levels of spirituality, psychic ability, and works in matters of lust and love. (This is a personal favorite of mine).

Cloves: Drive away negativity, cleansing, and bringing prosperity.

Ginger: Adds strength to any magickal working and can draw in new experiences. 

Oregano: Joy, strength, vitality, and energy.

Peppermint: Cleansing, peaceful sleep, bringing about change, and abundance.

Spearmint: Healing, sleep protection, and vitality. (I’ve found that combining this with peppermint really helps me get to sleep).

Poppy Seeds: Heightened awareness, luck, and helps with insomnia. 

Cayenne Pepper: Helps deal with separation, and can speed up any magickal working.

Orange Peel: Love, divination, money, luck, and emotional peace. (They also make great air fresheners!)

Paprika: Adds and extra boost to any magickal working.

Mental Crop Rotation

When farmers grow the same crop too many years in a row, it can leave their soil depleted of minerals and other nutrients that are vital to the health of their fields.

To avoid this, farmers will often alternate the crops that they grow because some plants will use up different minerals (such as nitrogen) while other plants replenish those minerals. This process is known as “crop rotation.”

So the next time you find that you need to step away from a project to work on something else for a while, don’t beat yourself up for “quitting” that project. Give yourself permission to practice “mental crop rotation” to maintain a healthy brain field.

Because I’ve found that when that unnecessary guilt and pressure are removed from the process, a good mental crop rotation can help you feel more energized and invigorated than ever once you’re ready to rotate back to that project.

: A crucial part of crop rotation is that the field is let fallow sometimes. You plant what’s called a “cover crop”, which is something you don’t expect to harvest– it’s there for its roots to hold the soil in place, and often it’ll be what’s called a nitrogen-fixer, i.e. a plant that can pull nitrogen out of the air and fix it into the soil with its roots (but sometimes it won’t, sometimes it’s really just there to shelter the soil surface), and then you’ll till in that cover crop, or let the frost kill it and the stalks lie as mulch, and then you’ll rotate productive crops back into that field the next season. 

It’s important, though, to understand that during the fallow period, no nutrients are removed from that ground, and nothing is expected of it. Whatever the land grows then, it keeps, and it gets tilled back in or decomposes in place, to return its energy to the earth.

We’re not allowed, in our current society, to just let our minds be fallow for a bit, to produce nothing for export, to make nothing that can be sold. But it’s part of good land stewardship, to give every field time when it doesn’t need to give you anything back. 

So yes, grow and produce different things from time to time, rotate them around your mind and exercise different mental muscles, take different things from your creative processes, yes– but also, give yourself a fallow spell now and again, and let the field of your mind grow things for itself to keep, to break down and save for later.
