I don't know if you need to hear this or not, or even if it's necessary, maybe i misinterpreted what you're saying but...., if you're ever struggling with art, just take it easy. I'm an artist too and i put extremely high expectations on myself, i hurt myself with it and i never liked my own art.

After all, you're creating something from nothing and not many people are skilled like that. Art skills can be honed and improved, but that takes loads of time. Be patient with yourself!

Art is a process. My own art from a year ago is just ugly, but then one day i started doodling every day and after a few months I noticed i have improved a lot.

Just saying. Art takes time, it will surely improve over time, if you put your heart in it.

Thank you so much for this. I certainly have moments where I step back and look at my art and ask why I even tried drawing. Some days are better than others for sure. I just feel horrible for going on hiatus for so long even though I was getting such joy from drawing. I had stuff in my life happen (breakup, a loss in the family, being laid off) that really wore on me. That, coupled with not getting a lot of business for commissions really made me question whether or not I'm good. Not sure whether or not it's due to the pandemic, but I know it's affecting everyone differently and is difficult in any case.

I for sure know I've yet to improve. But like you said, it's a process. I really needed to see your message for sure. It lifted my spirits up like you wouldn't believe! And it makes me extremely happy that people stumble on my art here and like it to this day despite how long ago I posted it.

Again, thank you greatly for this. You keep being awesome and I hope to see your art sometime, wherever you may be!

To everyone who's continuing to view my art and reblog to this day-- thank you dearly. I haven't drawn in a while due to personal reasons that I'm still trying to overcome. I hope that I can draw more Metalocalypse/ Dethklok content for you all soon! I'm getting back into drawing little by little.

I hope y'all don't hate me for not posting as much anymore. Work has had me busy/tired/stressed and my shoulders are pretty fucked up so I haven't been able to draw jack shit for a while. I have also hit a bad artists block and it's killing me. I really want to draw more Toki stuff but my brain/aching body won't let me and it makes me very sad.
