Been rewatching Thunderbolt Fantasy lately, still one of my favorites

Here’s a look at the double-sided postcard that comes with our Thunderbolt Fantasy 10th anniversary fanzine as a little freebie for buyers! You can check it out in photo form as well, below the cut:

We also prepared some thank-you cards for all copies. We’ll stamp the back of the card with a custom-made seal with the zine’s Mandarin and Japanese titles: 《四海遨遊》 (“Sì Hǎi Aó Yóu”) and 『彼方の海へと』 (“Kanata no Umi e to”).

Yes, we got ink pads in the color motifs of Thunderbolt Fantasy’s main trio! Your card will come with a stamp in brown, blue, or red.

Please note that since the cards will be stamped by hand, some might not come out looking perfectly stamped, but we’ll try our very best. Thank you for your understanding!

The stamp is from a long-standing Taiwanese shop: Ri Xing Type Foundry (日星鑄字行), the last place in the world with a collection of movable casting molds of traditional Chinese characters, which can be used for letterpress printing and creating personalized stamps.

If you’re into stationery, and you ever find yourself in Taipei, give them a visit; their shop is just about 10 minutes on foot from Taipei Main Station (Google Maps).

It’s been a very hectic time for us, and it will continue to be as we focus on getting our orders fulfilled, but—here’s a photo of our table at the 2026 iteration of the budaixi-only doujin event “Raimei ni Tsuzuke!” in Tokyo.

It was our first time participating in a doujin event. Though mod Tifa, who is based in Japan, was the only one among the mod team at the table, everyone on the team also helped with the graphics, social-media posts, and more for the event!

Despite some initial hiccups, we were able to set up our table and distribute our zine successfully, thanks to the help and understanding of some truly kind souls.

If time permits, we may do a more detailed event report about our Raimei experience—no guarantees, though.

And for those who missed our preorder period, stay tuned for leftover sales late this month or early next month in June!

The estimated weight that the printing company gave us for our Thunderbolt Fantasy 10th anniversary fanzine was 965 grams (about 2.12 pounds). So we tried weighing the zine as soon as it arrived, and…

We have extended preorders on Ko-Fi & BOOTH for Across the Sea: A Thunderbolt Fantasy 10th Anniversary Fanzine by a week: until 23:59 (11:59 pm) UTC-11 of April 19 (Sunday)!

Although this is an international project led by Anglophone fans, this zine will be printed in and shipped from Japan, so for non-US based folks, especially those in Asia, please rest assured that international shipping shouldn't as pricey! 🌊Shang's Journey🌊

Here's the full clean version of my cover art for @tbfantazine! This was done with acrylic inks and some colored pencil for the rain and hair details. I briefly gave an explanation about the cover theme on our cover reveal post, but I wanted to share some more of my thoughts. Since our zine is double-sided I wanted to make an illustration that could work as an entire illustration as well as a standalone cover from either side. As the main character, I used Shang Bu Huan's first and last appearances in the series to be symbolic of the beginning and the end of Thunderbolt Fantasy's journey. Additionally, the side inspired by his first appearance is the Traditional Chinese/Japanese side's cover, while the side inspired by his last appearance is the Simplified Chinese/English side's cover. With all our contributors' works spanning the entirety of the series within, it really feels like a fitting tribute for the 10th anniversary and whole celebration of an international collaboration that reached fans around the world!
