“Pretty Thoughts..”
@smellslikejustice
The night fury squinted at the monster. She seemed to be a fish. Shouldn’t she be in the water? He squinted, pupils retracting and dilating, not deciding if he should be hostile towards the other. Right now, he really had no reason as she hadn’t done anything. Might as well make his presence known, right? He let out a low growl as she passed, backing further into the brush in an attempt to remain unseen.

Rapunzel was in the middle of sketching. She was deep in concentration and at first didn’t even notice the Nightfury behind her. It wasn’t until her lighting was blocked that she turned her head, only to blink in surprise that nothing was there. Wrinkling her eyebrows, she turned back to her sketch, and again her sun was blocked. Spinning around again, she saw nothing. Then she saw the end of Toothless’ tail and she smirked. Turning quickly, she spotted him and laughed. ❝GOTCHA!❞ she exclaimed with a laugh. ❝What are you doing here Toothless?❞
Each time she had spun around he grumbled to himself, a quiet chuckle. When he was caught, he stretched out his neck and let out his version of a laugh. Truth be told, he’d just wandered off, he’d deal with an upset Hiccup later. He bumped his nose against her torso and bounced back with a playful grumble, couching much like a dog would when they wanted to play.
I dunno how I feel tonight.
But I’m gonna be here tonight.

Please if I make you a starter and it’s not what you want, please send me a message, either through my ask or an IM. I’m more than willing to rewrite a starter if it’s something you can’t work with or it’s too short, or you just want something different! It’s the same on my main blog, I’m completely willing to rewrite things if you just ask!

His ears raised as he looked at the human. He was taller than other humans he knew, causing him to tilt his head. He wasn’t a viking, he seemed too lanky. Would this human harm him? He wasn’t sure. he let off a warning growl, just to be safe.

He glanced over the other’s shoulder at what she was doing, his eyes followed whatever her hands were doing. If she turned, he ducked down and went to her other side. He would keep this up until he’d be caught.

She couldn’t help but watch fondly as he responded to her words. For a dragon, he seemed to understand her decently well. How unusual. This made her all the more curious about him. She lowered her gaze as he turned his attention to her once more, making it clear that she was absolutely not a threat in any way, shape or form.
Her soul gave a gentle shudder in her chest, and she recognized the emotion as uncertainty. This dragon could easily destroy her if he wanted to, and she knew that. But she chose to put herself in this position, tempting fate as usual in an attempt to make friends. It is, after all, what she does best. She listens closely as he makes his way around her, taking note of the growl as he asserts his control over the situation. Even though she has magic, and could fight back, she wouldn’t. She had no reason to.
When she’s certain he’d backed off, settling down on the grass near her with a grumble, she exhales the breath in which she’d been holding. Slowly she opens her eyes and lifts her gaze to him once more. In a very careful motion, she unfolds her legs, scooting them to the side and getting up onto her knees. He’d given her the okay to move, so she’s going to go as slowly as she can to make sure she keeps what little trust she has with him.
The more she looks at him, the more in awe she is. What a stunning creature. Once she’s stood up again, she takes a moment to gently brush off her shorts before turning her attention to the dragon once more, once again extending a gentle hand in his direction. she doesn’t take any steps towards him, though.
“See? I’m not so bad. You’re a handsome fella, you know that?”
Though he had made it clear it was okay for her to move and get closer, he was ready to bolt out or growl in an attempt to intimidate her if she moved too fast, or tried anything funny. It was in his nature to be cautious of new people, the first time he’d met a new person, they had injured him to a point where he couldn’t fly on his own.
He watched her brush off her pants, pupils dilated as he watched. His ears twitched as she moved, listening to more behind him in case something crept up behind him. She held her hand out and he tilted his head slightly. Why wasn’t she coming closer, he’d made the okay sound.
Very slowly he stood up once more and approached her outstretched hand. He sniffed it once more, before grunting and nudging his nose against it. Yes. At this point it was okay for her to touch him.
Again, he sat down in front of her, wrapping his tail around himself so she wouldn’t accidentally step on it. Doing so, he had revealed the bright red fin that was made for him. It stood out against the obsidian scales of the other fin.
I dunno how I feel tonight.

She kept a careful watch out of the corner of her eye as he began to approach her. Just as she’d figured, curiosity would be his weakness. No creature can resist when given the upper hand in a situation. Peacee didn’t care if it put her in a position of potential danger, she was simply fascinated by the dragon.
Fingers lace together, fumbling in her lap as she idly distracts herself. As he makes his way to her basket and shoves his nose inside of it, she watches him with equal curiosity. She can’t help but let out a gentle laugh in response to his actions.
“There’s nothing but mushrooms in there, silly.”
Peacee was content to sit here like this as long as it took to earn this dragon’s trust. He was clearly curious and didn’t seem like much of a threat. But she wasn’t willing to push his boundaries to tempt fate.
The night fury pulled back and grumbled when she spoke, not enjoying being caught. He eyed her curiously before he walked around her slowly, tail dragging on the ground behind him and his wings folded tightly against his sides.
Green eyes watched the redhead cautiously, moving closer to her ever so slowly again. She’s made no attempt at harming him, so why not investigate her closer? A quiet growl ran through him as he approached, a warning. He couldn’t fly away but he sure could intimidate her into not doing anything.
Finally he made it to her, bumping his nose against her sides. After he was done poking and prodding at her with his nose, he backed up and sat down on his haunches in front of her. He motioned with his head, kneading with his front feet, and a light grumble that it was okay for her to move now. There was a minuscule amount of trust, but it was there. Don’t break that trust.
He might very well be
the last of his kind!

Wow. Her storybooks were very wrong about dragons, Frisk considers, tapping her chin in contemplation. Dragons had always seemed… like things to be feared. Mindless monsters who breathed fire and ate humans just to cause havoc. But… no?
In any case, a little giggle escaped the child as she figured out he was trying to imitate her grin. Shaking her head in mock disapproval at the dragon’s impatience, Frisk gave him a reassuring pat and explained—
* ❝Hey, practice makes perfect, dude! Stay determined, and try it again, okay? Um, I don’t think you’re cut out for little smiles. You’ve got teeth that kinda say ‘big, cheesy grin’ instead! Just kind of… bare them and turn your mouth upwards. Like you’ve jus’ seen a free snack or something. Maybe perk your ears up?❞
Baring her own teeth into a wider grin, she tapped them to indicate and give him a better idea, good eye bright with amusement.
Oh, he really shouldn’t be feared unless you’d actually got on his bad side. As long as he wasn’t attacked, he’d be okay with the other. A grumble came from him as she patted him. He cocked his head to the side. Lift his ears... Bare his teeth? They were rather sharp, and he didn’t want to risk scaring this child.
He lifted himself so he was sitting upright, looking down at her. A grumble came from him as he lifted his lips, revealing just his gums. It seems he’d retracted his teeth for this.
After a few minutes of trying, he’d managed to turn up the corners of his mouth and keep the rest of his mouth open at the same time. He let out a pleased sound and fell back to all four of his feet, attempting to keep the smile.
I dunno how I feel tonight.
