i'm having big feelings about how much Leon is a protector first and foremost. the way his priority is saving Grace, and once they drop down on that moving platform he immediately makes sure she gains her balance, and protectively has his hand on her back to make sure she doesn't fall, like... this man doesn't even think about it, it's instinctual.

Rewatching to GOW Laufey state of play and the start just solidifies my belief that Faye died of sickness and passed in her sleep. Because the first places she looks are over both her shoulders for Kratos and Atreus— Atreus has the separate bed further to the back of the home and Kratos is obviously next to her.
