Augmented and virtual reality can be used to engage learners in many ways. First, it’s aids learning by doing without limits placed on students. They can discover any information at any given moment. Furthermore, education can be personalized to the students as the lessons can be manipulated to fit student needs. Lastly, these lessons bring out emotions in students which in turn make them memorable and easier to remember information.
Esports is a great activity that should be included in schools! Gamers gain many useful skills. First, esports can foster positive interactions between students. This tool also has the ability to build leadership and communication skills.
Let's Take A Trip!
Virtual field trips provide many benefits. First, they are cost effective by eliminating the need for things like transportation and food. Second, they are extremely accessible. Virtual trips allow students to participate in the thrills and excitement of a traditional in person trip. Lastly, the trips are interactive with programs like live chat rooms and interactive exploration.
Covid Still???
The recent COVID-19 pandemic took a devastating toll on students nationally. Studies have shown that students that students who received remote learning are very low in both English and Math. As the pandemic continues to shift the classroom dynamic, educators need to continue to shift their teaching methods. In regards to assessments, students should receive more time and have an opportunity to review their notes while taking test. Tests should also not only be actual exams but papers as well to ease some test taking anxiety. These strategies may help students improve scores after the pandemic.
Responsible Internet Users
Digital citizenship is defined as responsibly using the internet and technology whether it be from a phone or computer. As educators there are many ways we can cultivate responsible digital users. For example, we can teach students how to protect their privacy and not overshare. More importantly, we can emphasize them thinking before they post. What they post can be detrimental to their future if they do not use the internet right.
Device on the go!
Some schools allow students to bring their 1:1 devices home while others do not. Ultimately, I believe students should not be allowed to bring them home. Many times they are not used properly home and will impede the progression of the student. Also, students are likely to leave their device home which will not allow them to be productive in school.
Get Your Groove On!
Movement within a classroom is extremely important. As we have become more technologically advanced, students are sitting at their desk or table more. This can be a problem as they become restless, bored and tired. An easy way to get students moving is by having them participate in motor imitation songs. Youtube channels like Jack Hartmann teach students to follow motor imitations as they listen to catchy songs.
Global Connections
It is extremely important to teach students about places other than where they live. One main reason is it increases tolerance and open-mindedness towards others. As students learn about other cultures, they will be less likely to frown upon certain customs. Furthermore, educating students about other cultures can eventually lead to them questioning and finding solutions for different topics within their country.
Technological advances and the ability to travel has enabled students to live in a very diverse world. Technology helps when learning about other cultures because it keeps lessons fresh. As a result, it increases the engagement of students. It also develops their problem solving skills. We can leverage technology to expose students to new cultures and communities. We can watch various videos from many different sites (Youtube) on people of different cultures or even watch films that describe their lifestyle.

ex: Not notifying me and not showing up to class or completing assignments
Effective classroom communication is the basis of good educational outcomes. It is imperative that we be on the same terms to ensure a successful school year!
