See the Glog! David Bowie.: text, images, music, video | Glogster EDU - Interactive multimedia posters
Hello everyone! Today I did a glogster about my favourite artist David Bowie. Glogster is a website that helps us make multimedia posters with videos, audios and pictures/gifs.
Both teachers and students can use it and also individuals can use this platform for their needed content. The site is a bit confusing at the beginning but later on with trial, you will get the hand of it.
So digital stories, a new branch that i implemented on. This was fun but kind of sad in the parts due to the family topics, yet you can learn few stuff from them. The topics can vary and can be used in almost everything.
Technology and Education Episode III: Evaluation of the Webquest
*star wars main title starts playing*
Hello everyone! Today we will focus on a particular web quest and evaluate it with a rubric. Before we start, what is web quests and what cana we do with them in fields of education?
Webquests are often used to encourage critical thinking and researching abilities for the learners. Given various topics, learners will either begin with the writing down the information they know or about the given plot; it may vary depending on the given instructions about the task. After they write them down they will research the things that they have to learn and at the end, a presentation or writing material will be prepared.
In this post we will focus on the web quest that is aimed for college students, from the website Zunal. The web quest focuses on “Human Rights” (click to open the quest) , the quest will be evaluated with rubric (click again). Lets start!
First of all the description of the quest and the instructions were well written and detailed. The topic is one of the important issues that we see in the modern world and to begin with, even its located on the last box in the rubric, grammar is exceptional. Well written and formatted.
One of the things that will catch the attention is the links. The links are from United Nations and Amnesty International (global human rights movement). Some of the links are not working due to the websites change of databases or renewals so we can say for the links, its admirable.
While i was reading the tasks, I was amazed that it is well constructed. Tasks are definitely exceptional and is fun for the learners because the sites or attachments that can be beneficial are in, with the preparation of presentation is also explained in detail.
In this web quest, the fonts and colors are just like any other normal writing pieces. However when you read it, it becomes effective. In terms of project attractiveness, I would say it’s exceptional because of the simplicity and efficiency.
For the time use, admirable. For the research part, it can be done in the classroom time or given a selected time to implement it. The time for the presentation is given.
So this was another platform that we focused on with the education young padawans! May we meet again in the next episode, and may the force be with you.
wiki’s for education?
Today, I had the experience to write on our departments wiki page. First we had to get an access to the page which also makes you anxious as you wait for the mail soon. We had to write the famous names in our area with the facts and falses. The page you create can be placed in the folder and everyone in the community and have the authorized access can edit the page or comment on it. You can also see the history of the page too. The experience was fun especially the false informations that we wrote for peers to edit on. So, Cem Alptekin is not hanging with Lilo and Stitch sadly but hey it was fun to think about!
This platform can be used in classes as the interactive tasks and the ultimate engagement. Many students can express their thoughts or plan the outline of their works by this platform easily while being connected to whole class.
the 1975 has a paw-fan
Podcast, a dog and the 1975.
This is my first ever time of recording or doing a podcast. As a person who avoids recording her voice and feels insecure because of stress, this was a hard task to do. However, the story that is narrated is fun, at least for me. Even though I was highly insecure and criticised myself hard after listening the recording, i uploaded it.
For the perspective of the language classes, this can be a fun activity for groups more than an individual task. As individuals students may get anxious or can't find the topic to tell, on the other hand groups can provide much more content for the podcasts. It can be role plays, dialogues and many more scenarios that is supported.
Overall, this is a nice experience that i wanted to get my hands on but couldn't before. Oh, and dear The 1975 if you see this, my dog is a really big fan as you’ve heard.
silence among letters
some letters such as “h,k,t,b,g,n,d,u,l,w” are silenced in particular words, such as;
knight
gnarl
often
what
numb
autumn
wednesday
guard
does any other words you noticed that contains these "silent letters"?
As long as you’re learning, you’re not failing.
